Sir! The biggest disappointment for me as a Pakman fan and member was seeing him go dark on Gaza after realizing which way the wind was blowing. Silence is complicity, and David knows that. Mr. Pakman, it's not too late to find your empathy. You claim to be desensitized but if you can't find room in your heart to care about innocent children starving, being crushed, blown up, sniped, then you have a much bigger problem to contend with. Here's hoping you have a "come to Jesus" moment, so to speak!
He really tries to keep his show about domestic issues. He also doesn't want to talk about because he has a personal conflict on the subject, and everytime it comes up it divides his audience. This clip is David doing the minimum so he won't be accused of avoiding the subject entirely.
@@Heof1letter The only thing I've heard him say on Israel before now was what you just said about keeping it to domestic issues. I personally don't really buy that, especially when in the same video he mentions Russia and Ukraine (a topic he has discussed a lot). The US has a direct role in the Israel Gaza conflict so it's not unreasonable to expect a commentator like David to discuss it. I think you've nailed the real reason with your other point, which is that he doesn't want to divide his audience. I believe people with influence need to be a lot braver and do more. History won't look fondly on the world doing nothing while Israel commits genocide. If something like this was happening in North America or Europe it wouldn't be tolerated and neither would people being silent or neutral on it.
Why do you and others feel you can dictate to podcasters what they address? David has stated that 1. his show concerns domestic policies/politics and 2. he likes to deal with verifiable facts, not opinion. Perhaps start your own podcast inviting opinions on world affairs? P.S. I am being honest, not snarky.

Do you never give opinions (positive or negative) on anything online?

Used to listen to Pakman years ago as a teenager during the Bernie era. Seeing this stuff is depressing. The genocide of Palestinians, which everyone in my country currently recognises, and the crimes carried out by American empire have made me, what was once a left-liberal, a straight up communist. Absolutely, everything must be done to prevent these horrific crimes. We cannot allow the current order of affairs to continue. While those in power might not be, the world is watching, and they are watching in horror - support for the Communists in my province has just doubled this year, increasing to levels not seen since the height of the cold war because of this criminal activity, our government denounces Israel and it's genocide, but the people want more, and they want full sanctions and divestment.
@@xPurpleDrinkx9001 exactly in order to protect democracy we need to dismantle the main pillar of democracy first by not allowing Americans pick their candidates of choice!
Because he is a coward. You can see in his response to the second question: Hamas IS trying for a ceasefire, and has said it is willing to accept a UN ceasefire resolution. David Pakman is spreading blatant disinformation. Shameful.
I’ve followed David for a while now and it sucks to unfollow someone that I agree with 99% of the time … but being a Zionist is that 1% that I can’t be blind to, just like his deliberate blindness to the genocide in Gaza. Bye David.

Everyone deserves to live in safety and peace. Every Israeli and Palestinian life is precious. We need to stop the current mass killing of civilians, whatever their religion or ethnicity. In Gaza, 2.3 million people are cut off from water, electricity, food, and are under a carpet-bombing campaign. This needs to stop. We can hold two truths at the same time: violence is abhorrent and must end. But we also know that violence will not end through more violence. To bring change, we must address the roots of conflict, including historic and ongoing Palestinian displacement, occupation, and the reality of apartheid. Sending weapons and military aid to Israel at this time only expands violence and takes us further from a solution. It also takes away from diplomacy and peacebuilding programs that bring people together to solve problems. The U.S. provides $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel every year, despite record levels of violence against Palestinians by Israel. The U.S. must immediately work to deescalate to prevent further loss of life, and not fuel war by sending more weapons, especially when Israel is using those for war crimes. The only way forward is through a political solution. There is no military solution. Violence did not start with the attacks from Gaza. These actions occurred in the context of a 16-year-old blockade of Gaza that limits Palestinian freedom and costs lives. Over the last 15 years, Israel killed over 5,500 Palestinians in Gaza. During the same period, 309 Israelis were killed. Killing, oppression, and dispossession at the hands of the Israeli state have been Palestinian realities for decades, and recent events must be seen in that context. For decades, the Palestinian people have faced Israeli occupation and systematic human rights abuses that constitute apartheid. Apartheid is defined as a legally enforced system of separation and oppression based on race, creed, or ethnicity that has resulted in human rights violations. AFSC, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and other International human rights groups call for an end to Israeli apartheid. There was no “peace” in Israel or Palestine before the attacks on Oct. 7 - decades of Palestinian death and suffering have become normalized. Even before Oct. 7, this year (2023) was one of the most violent years in Palestine in more than a decade. At least 247 Palestinians-including 47 children-had been killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers before the end of September. During the same period, Israeli settlers launched over 800 attacks on Palestinians and Palestinian-owned property. Additionally, over 1,100 Palestinians had been forcibly displaced from their homes. The only way forward is with love. Together with our neighbors, we will keep our families safe. Together we will find common ground. Together, like days of old we will care and look out for each other.
They don't actually want to help the palestinians. They like to use them as Pawns and for propaganda purposes, rather than being angry at their own governments they can redirect that I are toward evil meanie Israel. Also in the past when these other countries have let Palestinians in in large numbers they have caused unrest in those countries. Take a look at what happened in Jordan and Egypt and Kuwait and Lebanon. And by the way if you are concerned about apartheid you might look at how the Palestinians are treated in lebanon, Palestinians who have been there for multiple Generations are not allowed to engage in certain professions.
There are about 2 million mostly Muslim Israeli Arabs who are Israeli citizens as opposed to Palestinians who are not citizens. Those Israeli Arabs have equal rights and have no such restrictions as to professions or anything, they have the right to vote and in general their conditions are better in Israel than they are in almost any other place in the Middle East at least as far as non wealthy people is concerned
There are already hundreds of thousands to millions of Palestinian refugees in those countries who've gone there since 1948. There's not much room left for them. There's also fear that once they leave Israel won't let them back in. There's been no guarantee of a right to return for Palestinians since '48. It's been clear most of the Israeli right wing wants to clear out as many Palestinians as possible and take the land for Israelis.
@@damienmitchell1637 The Arab apartheid system. Grandparents Palastinians ? No citizenship for you. You are a refugee. Imagine if the west done that ? Palastinian ? Sorry.. go live in that refugee camp where the UN will look after you. You gotta go back and do war with Isreal.
still lying about hamas, they have called for a ceasefire but you saw one clip of the most radical guy and run with it. Hamas has presented a Gaza ceasefire proposal to mediators and the U.S. that includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for freedom for Palestinian prisoners, 100 of whom are serving life sentences (most likely throwing rocks at an idf tank who just ran his parents over).Hamas said the initial release of Israelis would include women, children, elderly and ill hostages in return for the release of 700-1,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, according to the proposal. The release of Israeli "female recruits" is included. So David you may not agree with that proposal but no where does it say anything about continuiously bombing israel, stop being a top left busta and get it through your head 🐢
All words, little practicality. Isreal released 1027 Palestinians including Sinwar for a single soldier, what did Isreal get in return? A ceasefire is a farce if the party that started the hostility and is determined to keep doing it throws up a white flag while making ridiculous demands. Make it make sense
This is still such a weird position for David to keep taking. Hamas has consistently been prepared for a ceasefire, and Israel keep rejecting it, and it does so while unilaterally killing thousands of civilians in brutal ways. At least offer some way to stop Israel from killing even more. Hamas can easily be stopped if the IDF is serious about actually fighting them. The IDF's failure to respond to the attack for hours is the only reason October 7th was as bad as it was.
Not really.. Israel intends on making Gaza uninhabitable for the Palestinians they have to leave or die.. clearing the land for Israeli expansion.. They know that nobody can do anything whilst they maintain American support.. which they will have no matter who wins the election.. So Israel have no motivation to end this "conflict"
Not complicated; 1. Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians. 2. Hamas is also bad and is genocidal against Jewish people. 3. Being against Israel is not anti-Jewish because race does not equal nation. 4. Being anti-Hamas is not anti-Palestinian because Hamas is a terrorist group, and race does not equal nation. 5. Israel should stop genociding Palestinians. 6. Hamas should stop being terrorists, but even if they didn't, that still doesn't justify genociding Palestinians.

This isn’t sports you realize, yeah? No one deserves to be blown up by bombs or taken hostage. IDF and Hamas are both in the wrong and innocent people are suffering for it.
The main issue with aid delivery to Gaza isn't actually the amount of aid getting into the Strip, it's distribution of the supplies from where it's piling up next to the border pass on the Gazan side.
@@rabbi120348 I haven't seen Hamas stealing aid but I did see several videos of Israeli settlers destroying aid while millions starve and suffer with limited water and medicine. Yeah how about no, Israel has a right to defend itself from what Iran is actually funding and wanting to accomplish, each capitulation emboldens them more, Hamas from Gaza and Hezbollah from Lebanon attacking and targeting Israel with terrorism.
The only "real" solution is to end the myths about "refugees" who have never set foot in the place they are allegedly refugees from and stop pretending "Palestinian" is an ethnicity when it is a geographic appellation as there were Palestinian Jewish people expelled from their land who ended up in Israel: the correct term is "Gaza Arabs.'

The appalling war between Israel and HAMAS is a war of religion. Its roots lie in Europe a thousand years ago, with persecution of Jews by Christians, culminating in the Holocaust. That resulted in Palestinian land being ceded to form Israel as a form of restitution. There was also the older ongoing conflict between Islam and Judaism. There have been pogroms, wars of religion, the Inquisition, and Crusades, all killing people in great numbers, often by torturing them first. It occurs to me that if there were a god, as variously conceived by Christians, Jews, or Muslims, it would have an ethical duty to stop the maiming and slaughter carried out in its name. It follows then that either the god is unethical, and not worthy of worship, or it doesn't exist. It's either one or the other, but the latter is most obvious.
It isn't about religion at all. Jews are indigenous to Judea & some families never left so jews have had constant presence on their land. If you force a native american to move to Europe are they still Native American? Yes. So why is it different for Jews?
@@Steamandstream This is VERY different from Native Americans. The land that current day Israel holds have changed hands dozens of times throughout history. Many different cultures and people have lived on this land. From Babylonian, Persian, Macedonian, Egypt, Romans, to the Byzantine empire up to the British empire. It is an absurd mix of US religions involved - with strong support from evangelicals - as they are REALLY rooting for the end times (and for that to happen they need all the jews to go to Israel). It is about as absurd that if I was to find out that I once had an ancient ancestor living on plot X in the middle of London 1000 years ago - and then "find" some ancient text that says it is my "promised land" - I now can lay claim with force and bloodshed - AND claim it is morally just and right - on some part of central London. I'd support a permanent ceasefire provided there was adequate enforcement mechanisms because as David says Hamas are going to try something like October 7th again unless someone prevents that.
At this point Israel is actively encouraging that. You don’t think this merits some kind of response in the minds of the millions of Gazans who’ve spent the last half year being tortured? Hate breeds hate and Israel hasn’t been dropping love on these people’s heads.
As long as more than 70% of Gazans celebrate the October 7th progrom and do not understand that it is not Israel but Hamas that is responsible for their current misery, there will be no ceasefire in Gaza either. I don't know how there could be an end to anything when they're living in an apartheid state. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs should have most of their civilization at the bottom. I don't know if you can expect much from a group of people until they can have a lot of their citizens reach the top. Israel has displayed a lot of collective narcissism. The people who are an out-group of that collective narcissism can face systemic oppression. They can become collective narcissists as well. So the main players in this would all have collective narcissism. A right-wing authoritarian government would be one, a terrorist group would be the second, and the third would be the Zionist/imperialist US government that supplied the weapons and voted against a ceasefire. It would take some serious cognitive dissonance from number three about their shameful involvement. To this INTP the whole mess is troubling.

Your reporting is informative and we appreciate your honesty and exposure of the current events. God bless you! Keep working hard!
Shame on you for defending genocide
It was slightly heartening to hear David’s war takes, given he seems unwilling to speak out against Israel very much.

Why aren't the surrounding Arab countries bringing in some of the Palestinians for temporary help?
Its the Jordanian airforce doing many of the air drops. 👍
This is one topic I really need more education about. Complicated situation!
What’s so hard one side is a western democracy the other is an Islamic caliphate.
Watch Norm Finkelstein. Period.
Not complicated;

It's not their land it was part of the Ottoman Empire and they haven't lived there for 75 years so maybe it's time for them to just move on. That's not exactly what happened here but without getting into an argument about what didn't happen during what the Palestinians call the NACA I'm just saying that even if everything that you claimed was true it still doesn't justify the Palestinians not just moving the fuck on. Not to mention that they've had multiple opportunities including in 1948 to have their own state on all they can do is create war. They don't deserve their own state.
The "myth" that this is and always has been and always belonged to anybody with a drop of jewish blood is mostly created in the US from a biblical and thus mostly fictional perspective.
Also turns out I had some family living "nearby" that plot since that time - so even more just! (your argument)

But it's like that in every country in the world. Or can, say, an Estonian who moves to the USA become President of the United States? According to your twisted logic, that is apartheid.

Hamas has an estimated 25.000 militants.
There are more than 700.000 Israeli settlers in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

How is the extremist group numbering 25.000 the problem, but the extremist group numbering 700.000 isn't?
@lasselippert3892 I wouldn't call the Israeli army 'extremists'. Hamas attacked first on October the 7th, Israel has every right to defend itself and even more so after Hamas have repeatedly said they want to do more atrocities which are similar to October the 7th
David you are sinking yourself
In what way?
Hey David Parkman, Please don't talk in inflected sentences. It doesn't make you sound more intelligent, ty!
Revolutionary prepper nuff said
David, Likud also has a charter that calls for "greater Israel" and it has every intention of either expunging, displacing, erasing, cancelling or ultimately CLEANSING Palestinians from their native lands; Their genocidal govt literally has come before the UN general assembly and displayed maps showing what Israel would look like, devoid it's Palestinian natives or atleast their globally recognized territories....
Now, the most recent US Intelligence report categorically recognizes that the Palestinians in both Gh'atha and West Bank are in a RESISTANCE against occupation, and NOT "terrorism", as the politicians in the west mainly, and in Europe and their outreach foreign countries would have you believe....
So, my questions to you David are this, and in consideration to your self declared Jewish, Argentinian and American heritages----Do you believe that you have a duty, right and/or an obligation to join the global-and-political call behind the ideology that is ZIONIST ISRAELISM...???
And do you believe or NOT in the Human (FIGHT/DEFEND), fundamental (RESIST) and civil rights (PROTEST)of the Palestinian natives to; RESIST of the occupied Palestinians???

“ Do as I Say, Not as I Live “ 😂
Does he support an end to the occupation and building settlements in Palestinian territories? Because if you would like the idea of give me liberty or give me death they might as well.
Yeah he wants the settlers to go home. He's talked about this so many times
Your comment honestly didn't make a lot of sense but insofar as you're referring to the settlers and the West bank, these are mostly people who as far as I know immigrated their relatively recently and tend to be a bunch of religious fanatics. But that's a small percentage of the Israeli population and there are zero settlements in Gaza as hopefully you know and if you don't then you really need to crack open a book because you shouldn't be opening about things if you don't even know basic stuff. However you might know that I might just be misunderstanding you.
@@soltantio I never said there were settlements in Gaza, but you do know Palestinians live in both the West Bank and Gaza, right? Let's start with the basics. Since they're actually one people (Palestinians), it would be part of their collective issues. As for what you don't understand, that doesn't make it false. That could be your education level. We can both be ugly, or we can have a civil conversation to try and see if each other missed something. You got us off to a bad start. Would you like to try again? I'll be respectful if you can.
Search up David's video "A framework for Israeli-Palestinian peace", the answer you're looking for are there. Spoiler: yes he objects to the illegal settlements by Israel.

Yes I'm sure Trump will help Palestine more than Biden.
Third party candidates don’t have the numbers to win and even if one eked out a win, congress has the numbers to circumvent their veto.
You gave two choices, mate. Biden or Trump.
Biden can be pressured into changing his rhetoric and policy.
Trump is actively calling for Israel to “finish the job.”
You think helping a monster like that get elected helps the people of Palestine? Think critically and pragmatically.
