I dream and pray for when my green passport will earn respect in the world and I know it will happen one day. I am a frequent traveller for over 30 years, I have lived in various countries in America and Europe. For personal reasons, I have only my Nigerian Passport.
It has not been easy, but I am proud of myself❤
Nice one Funke! Having a dual citizenship is a great advantage and blessings. I am dual citizens of the countries of Nigeria and Australia. I have enjoyed many benefits of dual citizenship. I have travelled to many countries visa-free using the e-gate. Not having to be questioned by immigration officers at the border of countries, but just scanning my passport and looking straight into the camera, the border gate opens for me. Not having to go through the stress of applying for visas. I tell you, the visa life is a stressful life. I am licensed migration adviser for both Australia and New Zealand. I tell you, I know the stress involved in helping my clients with visas.
There are many opportunities that come with having dual citizenship. The ability to make two countries ones homes (shuttling between 2 countries) and enjoy all the privileges that come with it, including medical and welfare benefits. The opportunity to rub shoulders with other international counterparts, develop international business networks, leverage on best practices, and travel to about 190 countries visa-free.
I am a Nigerian born in the UK. I wish all Nigerians born outside the UK the best of luck with their application and process of their UK passport. The newly elected Labour government will definetly make things easier for all of us IJN.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Such kind words!
I used both passports and I don’t use visa
From UK to Nigeria 🇳🇬,I use UK passport and when I get to Nigeria airport ,I show dem 9ja passport

I have lived in several countries in Europe and America and for personal reasons, I have only retained my Nigerian citizenship and my green passport😊.
It Is not easy, but I am very proud of myself😂
I am proud of you too, Nigeria is a Beautiful and Bless country. the problem we have is bad leadership and I pray one day GOD will give us Nigerians a Good leader that have Good plan for our Beautiful country Nigeria. A leader that have the people in his heart.
Nice work, well spoken. Only thing is, if you come into the US with your ETA via your British passport make sure you add that UK passport information leaving the US even if your next destination is Nigeria that way you are virtually stamping yourself out of the US and recording your exit in your I-94 to your ETA, I see people travel out of the US with a different passport they came in with and the next time they returned back they started having issues with explaining how they left the US to immigration. You can present your Nigerian passport when you get to Nigeria, but when leaving the US still document your UK passport with airlines, they might ask for a Nigerian visa, people just say visa on arrival or they show their Nigerian passport (very tricky I must confess).
Insightful. Thanks for sharing!
This makes a lot of sense-I was taken aback when she said that. I'm sure US immigration would like you to use the same passport of entry for your exit-it is the same logic as entering Nigeria with your 9ja passport. You have to present the same 9ja passport on your way out, and then you show them your other passport.
I won't forget the stress of traveling around European countries with a Nigerian passport. I slept in Schipol Airport for 2 days with my family on my way back to Uk .Just because we don't have a schengen visa.we thank God today for being a dual Nigerian /UK American resident.
@@yemiodu wow 2 days 😞it’s not easy to forget such an experience
Hello Sassy, this is very informative. If I'm traveling to Nigeria from the US, I present my 2 passports (i.e. my Nigerian and US passports) at the check-in counter. Upon arrival to Nigeria (or any other ECOWAS country), I present my Nigerian passport as my US passport will be safely hidden. When I leave Nigeria for the US, I present my US passport at the check-in counter. Once I'm checked in, I make my way to the terminal and on my way, I'll meet immigration officers to whom I'll present my Nigerian passport for stamping. Upon arrival on US soil, my US passport is presented. My Naija passport no go see daylight again until I kukuma reach my house. One thing I have learned, unless you are travelling to Naija or any other ECOWAS country, never ever ever use your Nigerian passport to travel to other countries (e get why😅).
"My Naija passport no go see daylight again until I kukuma reach my house"😂😂😂
🤣🤣👍

@Sassy, I can relate. As a dual citizen of Nigeria and Canada, I recently travelled to Nigeria with both my Canadian and valid Nigerian passports. I had a 10-hour layover in Paris and decided to leave the airport to see the Eiffel Tower. I was happy to see that separate queue as a Canadian passport holder-in fact, only one or two persons were in the queue, and I saw the other lines-omo, that queue was not funny. Well, I didn't spend more than 5 mins and lo and behold I was out of the airport.
@ Funke , I think we have similar story . Though i had completed my education in Nigeria before migrating to the UK. Am on 10 yr pathway as well. Came in 2001.
Oh lovely! Thanks for sharing.
I surely know the feeling ... I remeber going to Berlin Germany on my nigerian passport ... was such a hassle to get a visa and blabla although the immigration was nice to me for the most part but then i could still feel i came from a "third world country" quite sad tbh ..... BUT fast forward to having my Dutch passport , travelling & life( even school fees suddenly became cheaper) traveling back and forth to Europe became a breeze .... its almost like most countries create special lanes for EU nationals esp the dutch one
The benefits are worth it indeed...Thank you for sharing, much appreciated
I am a dual citizen, Finland 🇫🇮 /Nigerian, and I have NEVER filled what passport I have. I just buy tickets online fill my details (names and address)and go to the airport 😂
Good video. Dual citizenship is a significant advantage. I had a terrible experience in Paris while traveling with a Nigerian passport in 2005. I was made to sleep in the airport terminal because the French immigration thought I would escape into Europe. I was like, I am on my way from the US and and didn't run away, why run away in France?I wasn't given the courtesy hotel reservation even as the fault was Air France. I vowed never to return to France for any reason since that ugly experience.
I now have a US passport, and I still hate the idea of using Air France or visiting Paris for any reason. French immigration officers are rude and treat English-speaking visitors very badly.
I can imagine the bad taste that left on you. It hard to shake such experiences
You are the lucky one!!
The only thing with check in is that u can usually input one passport on the system
Thanks for the information regarding dual citizenship. I have only ever had a UK passport, so I do not have the luxury of traveling to Nigeria without first applying for a visa. It recently cost each of us $330.00 each . I have contemplated to apply for a Nigerian passport, however I learned that travelling to Nigeria with a Nigerian passport has its own drawbacks. A family of 4 travelled to Nigeria. The parents obtained visas for their two children, but they traveled as Nigerians, without obtaining visas. Unfortunately, they lost their passports to thieves. The British High Commission in Nigeria today the couple that they are unable to assist them since they did not travel to Nigeria as Britons. The commission however assisted the children, since they traveled to Nigeria as Britons, (by obtaining their Nigerian visas).
Absolutely timely Funke. You just answered the question in my mind. Thanks for the education!
You're welcome. Glad to hear it.
I have Nigeria/ European/ Uk passport, No big deal
Excellent 👌
Thank you for the feedback! :)

You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
you did interesting - Sassy. 📢
Thanks for sharing dear..
Nice video. Very informative. You need to upgrade to the blue UK passport. Red is no longer allowed. Lol😂
I think they can still use it, till it's out of date
Thanks for this information 🎉🎉
Your welcome
Very good info. Thank you
You’re welcome
Your accent sounds more American; more than British. I was born in London and I recently got my first Nigerian passport and it was a nightmare.
I have an expired Nigerian Passport and I am going to my mum's funeral and I tried to renew my Naija Passport, but alas the Nigerian Immigration Service database did not work the day I paid, hence it's not possible to do biometrics and get a new passport, hence I will be travelling with my almost 40year old expired Naija Passport ,but also my British Passport. I will present the expired Nigerian Passport when I get to Lagos and show them the "documents of intent" when trying to renew my passport . I have a new date for renewing the Naija Passport , but that's in Feb 2025.
Thank you!!!!!!
Nice one
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏾
hi sassy hope all is well with you and your family Godbless you amen

A visa is required for visits to the US and Canada with a St. kitts Passport. Just check on "passport index" to see all the visa free countries you can go too with this Passport.

I have 5 citizenships… Thank God!
If i was to go to North Korea or Iran or Cuba, what passport do i present.

The gap with this video is you need to put a caveat of your primary residence. That will alter some of the things you have said.
Please break down how it will alter things 🙏🏾
