I was too young to buy blackout because of the parental sticker so I got an older buddy of mine to pick it up for me and that asshole kept it two weeks lol! Still love that album.
Absolutely awesome!! They sound great! One of the most underrated bands of the genre. They played a show in Vegas when Blackout was released at a place called Calamity Jane's that was out on Boulder Highway. It was one of the best shows I'd ever seen to this day and I've seen hundreds since then! They were so hungry, live, & refreshing from all the cookie cutter crap of the time! Thanks for posting this, I found out about the show last minute and couldn't make it.
saw them open up for AC/DC on the razor's edge tour, and they impressed me and my wife enough we found a 24 hour record store and bought blackout in the red room after the concert.
A 24-hour record store? Gezzus. I don't even remember those back in the early 90s. Maybe you were still enjoying the contact buzz from the show and you were actually in a Walmart. lol
Got the first album in 1990, and went to see them at the bierkeller in Bristol, we went to a friend's place before and did a few too many bucket-bongs of some beautiful morrocan hash!!!(anyone remember the good old days of excellent hash!???) So we were blasted when we got there, but a little bit of pink champagne speed sorted that out!! Yeah it was a wicked wicked gig!!! Skid doing a dance with Budweiser cans shaped like a cross!!! While the strobe light went mental!!! That was the intro then BANG BANG BANG!! Say your going to party tonight!! They went straight into black out in the red room, splendid......ahh happy days.......
P.s. that was the end of an era for a certain kind of metal/rock music, really by 88/89 things were going bad, I didn't get into the grunge thing..... Acid house/rave were where New innovative sounds were coming from, fucking wicked party's!!! Pure MDMA!!! .....ahhh splendid splendid splendid!!!!
Bought the album on cassette back in the 80s. Still got it. Underrated band.
I have it on vinyl!
