I loveeee the idea of wearing my uniform and running my errands for the day. Starbucks, target, or other places where there’s lots of traffic!! I’m definitely learning social media one day at a time, but truly trying to post daily!
Not making yourself too available is an excellent tip! Especially when you’re just starting out like I am, the instinct would be to just be available for everyone at any time, but it totally makes sense that if you make yourself less available, you seem more in demand! I also like the tip about working for yourself as well as for someone else at the same time to help supplement your income and potentially build clientele. I enjoy your videos so much and hope to take some of your classes someday!! 💋💋
I'm also just starting out and will be working at my current job. But... im dreaming of being able to support myself with my waxing business.. Good luck to you🥰
My favorite Tip is to rep your brand and wear your uniform out. Look and dress the part. I'll be adding some logo hoodies/hats/pins to my collection so that I can rep all year long, without fail! Thanks boo!
i'm in the process of becoming an esthetician , i've been trying so hard to pass my just my written test, but this is excellent knowledge for me to learn thank you so much 🥰
Being approachable and keeping the business at the forefront was probably one of the best and simplest tips. I really love how digestible you make everything. Just finished watching your mukbang with your new massage therapist and I'd love to see some raw footage of the tribulations of running your own business, especially in this climate. Keep going mama!
Love the FOMO tip! I’ve noticed when you have services that potential clients haven’t seen before they become more interested. They tend to ask questions & keep updated. Thank you so much!!
My favorite tip was being approachable I really think that when your authentic and approach people to engaged with them and let them know what you do they can see it, feel it and will support you easily it really works✨
Thank you for your information! I’m an Esthetician. I worked for another esthetician for two years & now I left to open my own spa (at home) and I’m so scared 😟 like I’m so shy. I don’t want people to know that it’s me, I have a separate page with like 10 followers. My personal has 2k+ I’m scared of what people have to say
I know how you're feeling...in the beginning it's like...what will they say...and how that makes you feel? But you have to step out and put yourself out there. Are you looking to grow a business? Then you NEED to be out there and visible, if it's a hobby than that's cool too. Hope that helps!
I love how you make it clear not to care about not over posting and to try post as much as you can but you also referred to it not just being something your doing but make it so they do something like suggesting they book something , I definitely forget to do that so such a great reminder 🙌🏻 I love your videos literally makes my Tuesday as I’m in aus 😩
My favorite tip was not to be so available in your schedule and don’t have your hours so available! I love all of your videos everything is extremely help and I hope to be as good with product knowledge as you someday!!
My favorite tip is being approachable with a smile. Even the ladies that work at Sephora asked for my business card’s because I’m always in my uniform when I’m there shopping. Thank you for the tips.❤️
I really love the part of the fomo tip where you said to not have your books open so far in advance! Really makes sense if you wanna take a vacation or something!
I really liked the social media advice! Social media is such a huge asset to growing a business so having a “call to action” on the story post and the hashtag tips were really helpful. Will definitely be using them! ✨
My favorite típ is hashtagging on Instagram posts. I need to start doing this 😁 because I need to grow my clientele. I’m only 1 week away from graduating and planning on going solo 😬. Nervous but excited.
I love the FOMO tip!! I know it gets me every time, I’m opening in a month thanks to you! You were my final push to make the jump and stop letting fear get to me! I will be using the FOMO tip when I start booking! Thank you!
I really like the advice about availability. I just started working my own space and have been struggling with that. I am definitely going to limit my hours and take your advice ❤️ thank you so much!
Well, unfortunately, I have a RBF but I swear I can't help it so I learned to approach people who look or seem interested in what I have to say or do for a living and just show them the little sparkle behind these mad sitting eyebrows. Anyways love you and all your wisdom you share with us!!
I'm not only approachable I literally go into the Tea section on purpose so that I can stand there and wait until the lady comes by and then I just out loud to myself mention you know these are great for toners as well and then we begin the conversation about how I am an esthetician and my place is right over here I am old-school I'm 55 that's how I do it I also do the social media but I hid it from both sides
Love your videos! I have a few favorite tips from this video. 1) FOMO schedule, Specific menu choices, posting everyday and type of hashtags, video posts, have a life 😍
I always try to be the approachable person outside, but I'm always looking not too put together. I'm going to make it an effort to look more professional when I go out. Thank you! I also really think posting every day is a good one!
You mentioned some very good tips! My favorite have to be while being solo also work part time elsewhere. That will help balance the income! Love your content! 💕 thank you!
Question! Will you ever cover how you do your scheduling?! How do you plan length of treatments and how much time do you allow yourself between them! And what program do you use?! Thanks!!
I love acuity scheduling, and I in the beginning would set a timer to see how long it takes when I do a friend, or a family member. Once you get your routine down, use that number and then add 5-10 mins of cushion. Leave enough cushion in between for proper cleaning, reset for yourself, and go from there. Hope that helps!
I always post my availability😭; I have it open for my clients like every single day and I’ve noticed that I don’t really get people that book with me but I’m going to definitely try out not making it as open as I do now. And I am definitely going to go buy scrubs now and get ready every time I go out. Thank you so much for all your tips ❤️
Hi Kristen:) first thank you for all the tips and info you give us it’s so much appreciated! I’m an esthetician student and you are such a great inspiration. I love all your videos. I love the tips you give us that starting out to limit our availability and also work part time somewhere to build our cliente that is a very smart idea since starting out can be very pricey. I will definitely keep that in mind! Thank you.
Would love to see how you set up to do a video of a treatment. Suggestions/tips and details on how to record, length of time etc for IG and different platforms 😉 Btw, you’re awesome!
Thank you this very helpful, especially the last part. I need to remember I am the face to my business and dressing/ acting the part is important. I do consider friendly But the pandemic has made me a very introverted lol
The FOMO tip was definitely my favorite. I will be including it on my social media and with my future clients! Thank you so much for your videos they help me stay inspired! ✨️💗
Love you Kristen, my favorite tip would have to to be FOMO! This was my first time hearing of it and I can definitely see how it will be beneficial to my business in the future!
Is it possible to go on your own fresh out of school ? I have a day job and a lot of people in my school say to work at a spa first but I’m dreading having a boss 😭
Newly licensed (but older & really knowledgable and skilled as i've worked around skincare my whole life). My dream is to have my own space (as i'm also doing energy testing, reiki etc) but I have no way to get a space at this time (and CA law is a pain in the booty & doesn't allow on location services). It seems every place hiring is going to have a non-compete. They also want people to just follow their protocol etc. (which would kind of go against my values and knowledge). I need to choose a path like, NOW, and I feel super stuck. Are there any places that allow you to also do your own thing?
Hello, I really appreciate your videos. In previous vids you mentioned that you worked in a spa. How long did you work in a commision based spa before you felt comfortable enough to open your own practice. Did the spa guests follow you? How did you do this without....? 🤭. I am currently happy working in a full serviced salon and spa that is extremely busy. Do you happen to have any suggestions for cross marketing (without looking thirsty) lol? I need to up my IG status, but I feel warm leads might work best for me. I just need help tapping into that market. I love your channel. Keep sharing and it will continue to come back ten fold. All the best!! Much ❤ love!
I used to work in a spa before striking out on my own, and I worked on my website on the dl...:-) and let Google start to bring me new clients, and then just let clients know who were asking about services that I would be providing at my new spot. I also feel like an owner who is genuinely for you and wants to see you win, will be ok with you sharing...but not thirsty poaching...ya know what I mean? Hope that helps
My goals mean I have to work nearly everyday. To have the opportunity to do what I love everyday itself, is the life lol. There's a tattoo shop in my town that isn't breaking even because their hours are way too narrow.
After you are done with esthetician school, do you have a choose to work from home (like where you have people come to your house and they pay you like basically you are your own boss) or you just HAVE to work in the spa
I think it depends on your goals. If you need more real world experience then a spa is a good choice. If you wanna just jump in and you have a financial cushion in place for when things are slower...go for it!
Can you please help me I’m in esthi school I have zero clients besides friends How do I build new clients that aren’t friends lmao Do I have to open a store front? Or should I build clients at home?
I’m starting off as a solo esthetician but I’m contemplating if I need a Varago account to help with booking or use my own booking system? What would you advice?
Yes this video is for me a perfect marketing ideas about my small business.the effort, ideas about the hashtags related to area name with facials etc. is really annew thing for me so keep posting i am really glad 😊 that i followed you.lpve and support ❤ from Shaheera Ashraf khan
So I’m running a successful lash business. I’m burnt out! It’s not my passion. I want to employ a lash tech to take up some of the burden. Would you recommend doing dedicated lash days, like a Saturday and Sunday? It would be challenging to book facials and lashes on the same day. I just subscribed to your channel and am looking for feedback.
I’m already doing most of what you mentioned...I will definitely try posting available time slots that I’d like to have booked! This video was very helpful, thank you! 💗
I like having them reach out to me, or get them to my website in order to see pricing. Because I may raise my prices, and I don't want clients stuck on old pricing...hope that helps!
I loveeee the idea of wearing my uniform and running my errands for the day. Starbucks, target, or other places where there’s lots of traffic!! I’m definitely learning social media one day at a time, but truly trying to post daily!
P.s I follow both of your accounts! Love me some Kristen Marie content 😍

I love that these tips were practical and not just trying to sell us a service. I feel like these will actually help
I love the concept of having a selective book! When you make your books look full, there’s more respect that comes from your clients too❤️
i'm in the process of becoming an esthetician , i've been trying so hard to pass my just my written test, but this is excellent knowledge for me to learn thank you so much 🥰
Any updates? I'm a new Aesthetician and I am 60 years old. I just received my license in the last month. Saying a prayer for you❤

I love your channel! I'm not an Esthetician but these tips also apply to me as a nurse starting my own business as well, so thank you!

The FOMO tip I loved the best. Going in new, I'm sure I will want to cater to EVERYONE but I know that could cause burnout or no-shows. Great tip!
I love the idea of not looking like I’m completely available, great tip!
Love your videos! I have a few favorite tips from this video. 1) FOMO schedule, Specific menu choices, posting everyday and type of hashtags, video posts, have a life 😍

I love the be approachable tip. I will give wearing my uniform a shot and follow up. I will also get my uniform embroidered. Thanks for the tips!!!
You have helped me so much ! I’m loving your scrub top where did you purchase its cauuute 💗
You mentioned some very good tips! My favorite have to be while being solo also work part time elsewhere. That will help balance the income! Love your content! 💕 thank you!
How has your hustle been going since then?
The FOMO and uniform tip were so good!
I love the FOMO advice that isn’t something I would have thought about it that way
How has your beauty business been doing since then?
Question! Will you ever cover how you do your scheduling?! How do you plan length of treatments and how much time do you allow yourself between them! And what program do you use?! Thanks!!

I did the same mistake a few years ago.
I'm so glad I have alot of sisters and female cousins I can just use them as models so I can build clientele
I just love your energy and smile.
Steady growing and flowing - Kristen. ❤❤❤❤
Hi Kristen:) first thank you for all the tips and info you give us it’s so much appreciated! I’m an esthetician student and you are such a great inspiration. I love all your videos.

Thank you for dropping all of your gems! We need this on our community. Where did you get your smock and embroidered?
Would love to see how you set up to do a video of a treatment. Suggestions/tips and details on how to record, length of time etc for IG and different platforms 😉 Btw, you’re awesome!
This is so helpful and transparent, this is the best video out!
Thank you! I made notes! You have a lot of helpful info and ideas!
I go out in public in my pajamas too much! 😂 definitely working on keeping a professional look when I’m out and about.
Thank you this very helpful, especially the last part. I need to remember I am the face to my business and dressing/ acting the part is important. I do consider friendly
But the pandemic has made me a very introverted lol
You’re so smart thank you for every single one of your videos and knowledge!!
I love love the FOMO tip!! You are truly amazing! Such inspiration! Love your smock, may I ask where you got it and who embroider it?
The FOMO tip was definitely my favorite. I will be including it on my social media and with my future clients! Thank you so much for your videos they help me stay inspired! ✨️💗
Love you Kristen, my favorite tip would have to to be FOMO! This was my first time hearing of it and I can definitely see how it will be beneficial to my business in the future!
Omggg thank you so much for this ❤
Where is this smock top from? I fell in love with it when I first seen you wearing it and cannot find anything like it
Is it possible to go on your own fresh out of school ? I have a day job and a lot of people in my school say to work at a spa first but I’m dreading having a boss 😭
Where is a good place to purchase smocks to have name and logo added to? In need of ideas please!
Begins at 2:30 :) You’re welcome
I love your videos, they have helped me a lot. Good vibes from Tijuana💗
If your books are not open 6 weeks out how do you book your clients for the next month? Or is it only available for the new clients?
Great tips throughout the entire video! Thanks ☺️
I absolutely love your videos. They give me a lot of inspiration and motivation. Where did you get your uniform?
Thank you for the info! Where did you get your uniform from. Love the v neck rather than round neck or high neck style top.
Posting only certain times and appointments of availability to create fomo
I use Image Skincare products also, since 2013.
