I’m 25 and start my journey this fall, I’m excited to join a career path that I will truly enjoy ❤️ thank you for posting educational and informative videos
Thank you so much for your content Kristen! I've been watching for about a year, dreaming of being an esti....and your videos helped me make the decision to go for it! I start school next month and I feel so much more prepared and excited thanks to your videos 💖
Thank you for being here for us new students and prospective students! You are living the life I am dreaming about. School starts 2/2024 and I am ecstatic!!! I appreciate all your feedback and advice. ❤
6:01 sis I live in Florida n I got Licensed in 2020 n we don’t even have a state board for esthetics n they just lowered the hours to like 260. The only thing is they’re not teaching us as much as other states so we really have to seek out extra training. Which is kinda hard.
i’m so excited for the online training! thank you so much for offering this. i’m gonna start saving now i really hope you continue to offer this!! I got my estheticians license but found out i was pregnant just a few weeks after, due to the circumstances i didn’t get into the industry but now i’m ready but feel lost i’m so glad i found you!! ❤️🥺
Thanks 🥰,I appreciate this content,am a certified Esthetician in West Africa, have been watching and learning from you for almost two years now, am so grateful to have found your channel, you're such a motivation to me.. 💞💜
I love your channel! I’m newly licensed and waiting to find the right esthetician job for me. I’m a mama too and I unfortunately don’t have childcare. I’ve finally finished watching all your videos. I really enjoy watching each one. Thank you so much for being so open and honest!
Ouuu Happy Holidays! Kristen I didn’t realize you worked at a spa …I always thought you jumped straight to Boss out of school ohhhh 😁 I found you I think through your lives with Lia Leigh in 2020 . You’re even more inspiring because I’m still trying to get to that point where I’m 100% solo Esthie
I'm five months licensed and have had a hard time dealing with customer complaints. Nice to know when you're new it happens. Unfortunately I didn't have an understanding boss.
Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience as an esthetician at my ever first spa I worked for. To those wanting to go into a spa- stand your ground and don’t let management walk all over you. Read those contracts CAREFULLY especially in regards to scheduling/removing clients… and also how much notice they need to give you in case of any last minute bookings ! they can steal clients and move them to whoever else. Not all spas/companies are ethical …
Almost 30 and starting my esthetician journey next month. Very excited 🙂 Thank you for your informative videos. What are your thoughts on shadowing/gaining knowledge at a spa before/during Esti school?
Im about to start cosmetology school but I have a huge passion for skincare, I really want to pursue advanced esthetician classes. I want to be an esthetician for sure.
I’ll be finishing at the end of February and subscribed bc your channel seems to helpful! Thank you! Also, what mic, cam, and editing do you use for your channel? Thanks!
First of all YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL. Second of all THANK YOU for your tips, just started my solo esthetician journey and all of your content is so helpful and fun to watch, so again TY 😊 🙏
Hey Kristen, I was wondering if you have a template available for how you organize your notes on each client? Loving your content and currently devouring 1-2 videos a day as a take notes and reflect on them and how I can apply to my business I start from scratch. Much love girl! ❤
Hey girl! I’m a small UA-camr/ Esthi small business owner and I just wanted to say Thank you for being so consistent with your content. You inspire me so much to keep going despite feeling discouraged sometimes. You’re amazing! 🦋💕
I graduate next month and I am so nervous to get out there. Thanks for sharing your experience I am in Cali hopefully I can do a training with you next year
I think I said it before but I truly enjoy all ur content even though I don’t enjoy doing facials. I’m about to graduate from esthetics school next week. I’m in Texas we still have to take the practical here, but to me the practical is the easiest exam the written is the one that scares me just because of my dyslexia and adhd I know the answers but when I take test Is where I struggle. Anyways I agree with everything you said. I’m planning on applying to several spas and wax center to get the knowledge and training before I go on my own. Thank you for everything you share.
Thank you so much, I thought to rent a Sola salons space but after you told me that I have to work for someone for about 5-6 months I guess I will follow your advice. … please assure me that it is the right choice??? I’m scared to hell😅
Do you have any tips on how to get bookings while in school? Our esthetics program is new and we don't get a lot of people in. Should I transfer schools?
Thank you for this content ❤ I’m 48 and left my dental career and I’m thinking I would love to go to school for esthetics. My question is does it take a long time to make a good income? Thank you❤️
I work at a spa that’s paying lower than minimum wage and I pretty much am supposed to be bringing in my own clients and doing my own marketing and the spa I work for has taught me a lot about certain products but Im not gettin enough practice because the clients are not consistent and neither are my checks should I look for somewhere else to go?
Everything you say so on point!!! I got my Cali license in Nov 2020 so I at least got some more hands on stuff but I can’t imagine getting rid of that completely for state board 😬 continuing education is something I love and want to do but it’s an investment for sure which I wish was talked about more. Partnering with brands who educate well is very important in that regard too. I just finished my one year with ME here in Phoenix,AZ and man I absolutely hate it (can discuss later haha) BUT I value what I’ve learned during this time…time management, confidence in educating my clients on skin and retail that makes sense for them, etc. You should totally do a part 2!!! Have a blessed and lovely week girl 😊much love ❤️
One time I did a Groupon deal with a lash artist - she was not a licensed esthetician and wow that glue burned my eyes so bad 😢 Now I’m just scared of getting lashes 😳
hey Kristen a little off topic but i like your Smock and i own a day spa in texas and i would like to make sure my girls look nice we are currently wearing T-shirts does not match the fancy look or our spa where did you get your from?
Love these tips, I am a beginner esthetician and everything that you mentioned, applied to me! In NY the practical exam is still necessary to obtain your license, wow that's interesting. I truly hope to take your online course one day, you're so genuine! much love girl
I just graduated. Im taking thr written part of my state boards tomorrow lol. I live in New York and it's really hard to find a job. I'm getting discouraged but this is my passion 😔
I have been licensed for 7 years, but I have been currently working in the Healthcare industry, now I want to pursue my career back in Esthetics and would like some tips, I have worked solo for 2 yrs but I was working with a Nail Salon and using one of their rooms.
@@kristenmarieco most definitely. I just can't believe they stopped doing the practical. I feel like that's the most important besides infection control and such. Also, do you have any videos on esthetician apprenticeships? My state allows it so I've been looking into that plus I'm going to school.
I was so glad they got rid of the practical portion because the school I attended didn't teach much of anything. It was a money grab and most was self taught.
Do you do facials with long nails? Our school teaches to keep your nails short. I agree with many of your points. Alabama Cosmetology Board requires practical exams, but not with a real model. ===
I'm looking for career change. I have 2 associates based in science (phys, chem, calc ) and I've been eying medical specialization.. 4yr is still option bc no more math involved but becoming aesthetician is wayyy quicker. Plus sick of school
loved this vid, but i don't agree with not practicing prior to being licensed. imagine having your fresh shiny license and taking your first few clients and bombing the services. i highly suggest practicing on a close family member or friend who is understanding of the fact that you are still learning, make your mistakes PRIOR to taking on clients.
Your videos help me realize that I want to be an aesthetician. I am in beauty school right now and I am going to graduate in July 🥰 I really appreciate your going solo series, thank you for making all of this wonderful content. It has truly changed my life 🫶🏻
Gosh.. KRISTEN. YOU ARE THE MENTOR for me. Everything you said hits so HARD. Thank you for literally guiding me thru this passion and industry ❤
SAMEEEE ❤️❤️

To continue learning in this field, what do you recommend to stay on top of the beauty industry? Outside of UA-cam.
Omg I needed this. I am starting esthetician school in Jan. Thank you ❤

Keep Going Your Doing Amazing. GOD BLESS YOU
Side note the colors you’re wearing for clothes/hair/ makeup are FOR YOU 😍
I started school in October and I have my class following u and we also watched one of your videos in class I love your channel ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

THIS!
.. maybe I'm misunderstanding.. if you're working for a spa, doesn't that mean these would be their clients?
@nolabae you can build a clientele even before being a solo esteticians, you know, like ur "regulars." they're still your scheduled clients.
If you're an employee, they aren't your clients. If you're an independent contractor working in a salon/spa they would be your client.
I'm in NY and taking the practical is still a must to get licensed
Happy Thanksgiving. I love the brown hair color, it's BEAUTIFUL!!

Thank you so much for all the tips! I've been watching you for a long time and so happy I found you. Here in SC we still have to take a practical.
Can you please make a video on basic business advice for a new esthetician?! Things to know before starting a business, etc plzzz plzz plzzzz
First of all YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL. Second of all THANK YOU for your tips, just started my solo esthetician journey and all of your content is so helpful and fun to watch, so again TY 😊 🙏
Hi can you make a video about contraindications with services?
A huge stress for me as well!!

In NC we have to take the practical exam, my school is preparing us for it
What school?

waiittt a minute where in cali are you at??
You look gorgeous!! ❤ Is that new law just in California or everywhere?
Can you do a video of your favorite spf’s that don’t leave white cast
It’s how Florida has no exam at all for me 😢
I can't wait to start school for my second phase of life, lol
I was just thinking, I wonder if other women my age go to school for esthetics:)
@@bridgettlarge1917 there's a woman in my current program who's about 60.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I just graduated. Im taking thr written part of my state boards tomorrow lol. I live in New York and it's really hard to find a job. I'm getting discouraged but this is my passion 😔
When is your next skin class

I loved your video but a piece of advice make your intros a bit shorter because it took like five minutes to just jump into the Tips ❤️
What?! They eliminated the practical on California? Here in Georgia, where I moved to from there, we still have to do practical.
aww yes, every state is different. 😬
@@kristenmarieco most definitely. I just can't believe they stopped doing the practical. I feel like that's the most important besides infection control and such. Also, do you have any videos on esthetician apprenticeships? My state allows it so I've been looking into that plus I'm going to school.
Is the written exam thing for all states? I’m in il
Practice makes Better
I just graduated and am waiting to take my exam 😅
Omg im 26 is it too late to do this
Thank you 🙏

Hello, where in California are you located?
I'm looking for career change. I have 2 associates based in science (phys, chem, calc ) and I've been eying medical specialization.. 4yr is still option bc no more math involved but becoming aesthetician is wayyy quicker. Plus sick of school
Definitely do it if you love skin care!

Washington requires both practical and written with 1550 hours
TN requires practical
Thank goodness Georgia requires 1,000 hours and both a written and practical.
So inspirational! Don't get left behind = 'Promosm' !!!
