Andy, I'm just starting to watch, but let me tell you something... Last year I installed 10 solar panels here at home. Without batteries, unfortunately, because they're really expensive here... But, still, it was the best decision of my life!
It's a different situation, I'm from Brazil, but still... Definitely search about it. It's more than worth it.

I think you did a great job covering up the eye sore Andy. I live in FL so one of these would be nice to have during hurricane season. I was looking between this unit and their wall mount unit.
Great video. Always nice to learn new things and I do have power outages from time to time even from a rainstorm that I didn’t think was that bad so this would come in handy cause we lost power for about 8 hours. That spalted pecan is beautiful.

Congrats, you just video taped you violating state fire code and posted it to UA-cam. Electrical panel must be clear of objects by 36” i believe. Sure hope know one local to you is watching this video 😂😂. Sometimes it's just best to show you building it, and not installing it. This is one of those times
The state of Texas has more to worry about than some guy building a cover for his electrical panel...I have zero worries about it but thanks for your concern.
