I think you get matched with people of similar vr usually, so unless someone is doing a vr speedrun and is lower than they should be, you should be fine.
That's the wrong way to approach it, if you played in these rooms (casual worldwides), you'd soon be able to compete at that level. If you don't play, you probably won't be
@@4pixels_ I mean.. It still has the biggest player base, but a lot of plp uses dolphin including me, And it really makes everything easier when you don't have a console or just not skilled enough for the nand dumping
@@misscubegd yeah, i have a wii w mkw disc but the disc drive is broken, so im basically forced to play on dolphin i have a nand but its good that more people can get into it, and good for me that i can play a populated mod cuz you can't play ctgp on pc for whatever reason

ive been almost exclusively a time trialer for like 6 years and retro rewind got me back into worldwides and ive already hit 10k despite never playing a lot of the tracks before. this stuff is so well made and convenient

Honestly Retro Rewind has got me so excited- I'm definitely gonna look into seeing if my laptop can run it! My Wii has been gone since around 2018 I'd love to play my childhood favorite again ^^

I accidentally found a crazy bullet extension on rock rock mountain, if you use bullet like right before the cave section the bullet will get you through the cave and if its still going by the time it leaves the cave, it will last nearly the entire area that was glider in the 3ds, even if the bullet got you to first. Its so busted
I'm interested in Retro Rewind but I do also really like the charm of fully custom tracks, and I think it'd be a shame to lose that. Maybe one of these days I'll try it out though
Troy i just had a crazy idea for a KAIZO knockout episode! It would be a fun one-off thing where you compete on the crazy kaizo tracks you and mayro play like frogger and precision trick maps, the people who fail gets knocked out and the winners continue on to the next kaizo map. I think it would be hilarious 🤣
It works! I tried a few days ago and couldn't figure out (I am on a mac so cant use the new tool) but because of the server switch I can play Mario Kart Wii online for the first time in years 🎉🎉🎉
Playing Retro Rewind online for the first time these last days has been kind of a mixed bag, on one hand I'm having fun and I will never in my life forget winning my first online race on my favorite track ever! (Ily forever Shroom Ridge) On the other hand I've been losing a lot and most of the time it feels like it's for things completely outside of my control and people somehow going out of their way to screw me over in particular :/ Like as I'm typing this I just finished a race where a guy stopped at the start just to hit me with a star and a mega mishroom, why? People backspamming on the line, driving into the offroad just to bump me off/hit me with items/steal boxes, I also might have seen a guy hacking somehow? lol they had like infinite mushrooms for 2+ laps always in first place. But I still recognize most of my losses and mistakes are my fault because I'm simply new to the game and still learning and makes it way less frustrating, can't wait to improve and finally start winning lol
LOL that guy is banned now to my knowledge, i encountered him the other day too. zpl is actively working on a better anti cheat so hopefully this isn't a problem for too long

Lowkey, MKWii on Keyboard and Mouse isn't a terrible experience. It works surprisingly well if you don't have a controller compatible with dolphin.
