Sig Sauer's MPX series is probably one of the few truly innovative designs in Sub-Guns and PCCs since the MP5 series came out. The Copperhead is an offshoot off this series that sought to make the most compact system possible. While the MPX full size is a very versatile systems for military, law enforcement and civilian use, the Copperhead does make sacrifices for the diminutive size. While the 9mm is a very capable round, this is not a replacement for a rifle when you are in such threat areas. Going toe to toe with an adversary with an AK-47 or AR-15 with only the Copperhead in hand is a daunting proposal to say the least. Where I feel this really shines is for Personal Security Details (PSD teams) and for very clandestine operations where a pistol just won't do but you still need to maintain discretion and stealth. The MPX Copperhead should be mentioned in the same breath as the IWI Micro Uzi, the CZ VZ 61 Scorpion, and the Heckler and Koch MP5K. While in the vein of military personnel defense weapons the H&K MP7 and FNH P90 were built to fill that roll, the Copperhead makes to many concessions for it's size to perform well there. Paired with the Holosun H-203B FDE, the FAB Defense single point sling, the Moonlight Industries Stealth Skunk chest rig and the Strike Industries FSA Dual Folding Stabilizer the Copperhead becomes a compact package that offers great capability beyond 100 yards where even a hotrod of a pistol like the Smith and Wesson M&P5.7 struggles. If you are away of it's limitations the MPX Copperhead will serve you well in a tight spot and should not be disregarded.
