    Part 2 in which I'll be answering your questions about Retin-A/tretinoin & skincare will be in an upcoming video (as including them in this one would've made it far too long). Please stay tuned for that if you're interested. Thank you.

      I have started using retin A... and im using it once a week for first month...my skin is extremely dry so after washing my face i applied moisturizer and then after 15mins i applied retinA...and i use nivea as moistorizer.. is there anything that i need to change or be careful... or is it ok to use retinA that way?

      @@honeybadgernasty It remains clear. Tretinoin aids in that most definitely, as does the fact that my skin isn't being covered with makeup, so my pores are not being interfered with in that way.

I would get sunburned and freckled. Even the best sunscreens can’t block all UVB and UVA rays. With Retin A, I even got a sunburned indoors with indoor lighting. I gave up on Retin A. I didn’t want to freckle anymore. Since then, I’ve only been using sunscreen (containing 25% zinc oxide) and I limit sun exposure.

    Jennifer, you are a lovely person. You state that your number one goal is to take care of Jennifer. I understand this as an essential and healthy life philosophy, and when I try to adopt that way of thinking, I immediately feel guilty and worry that I am exhibiting Narcissistic tendencies. I know this is faulty thinking but, there you go. Have you ever felt that sort of conflict? If so, how did you reconcile those feelings?

    • @JenniferMyers
      @JenniferMyers  4 роки тому +11

      I've not. There is nothing narcissistic about prioritizing yourself. Narcissism is an entirely different issue than independent, mindful and deliberate caring of one's own self. And I have never felt guilty about it, either; not in the slightest. Again, guilt is something one feels after doing a misdoing or behaving in an otherwise unsavory fashion -- that is completely unrelated to how I live my life and my philosophy towards my lifestyle and my intentions. In fact, what I've achieved for myself and the life I've cultivated (my health and wellness, my mind and body, and everything in between) is my greatest accomplishment and the primary source of my pride and self esteem. In order to develop genuine self esteem and security (I'm talking about emotional security), as well as emotional intelligence, one has to do esteeming acts and ground themselves in what is important in life vs what appears to be important but is only superficially relevant and therefore impermanent. I don't have to reconcile anything, because I know I'm serving my best interest in my actions and my thoughts.

Even when thinking about yoga retreats, i get worried that my abnormality will prevent me from being fully unified within the group

    Hi Jennifer, you mentioned the book you love When the body says no by Gabor Mate. I have never heard of him or this book but checked out a video of him speaking. It is about being a caretaker and how that can affect you healthwise. My husband is terminally ill and I am home with him. I can't thank you enough. The world works in strange ways and your recommendation comes at the perfect time. :)

    Hey Jennifer what are your thoughts on MSG (Monosodium glutamate)? Is it safe as the media says? Did your functional medicine degree teach anything about how healthy or how safe it is to consume?

      I personally avoid it as it causes headaches in my body. I don’t think it’s poisonous or particularly bad, though; just doesn’t do well in my body, so I avoid.

    Can you please make a video about not being married and having children while over 30, I am 25 and I feel like everyone around me are getting married, I am refusing to have an arranged marriage in a very cultural south Asian environment, but I also am surrounded by older people in my profession. I'm not sure if I am making a mistake by not getting married now and wonder if I will end up alone

    Hi Jennifer !
    You mentioned before that you use the generic version of atralin tretnion. Do you know if it’s available in Canada or are you in the USA ? I live in Toronto canada but my doctor never heard of this tretnion you use. Please help 🙂

    • @JenniferMyers
      @JenniferMyers  4 роки тому +1

      I’m a US citizen so I only know about the availability in my country. I’m sure you could find out from a pharmacy in your area. They will know.

    • @kristinas5714

      Jennifer Myers thanks for responding the pharmacists here are so rude they just said nope never heard it it sorry. When I asked if it’s only a US product they said they don’t know. When I explained that I have a prescription for retin a gel but I would like to find one with glycerin and hyaluronic acid and not alchocal they had no clue what I was talking about and refused to inquire into it saying they should all be the same .
