As a long time reptile owner, lizards hate their tails being touched. Pet them on their backs or heads but not the tail unless you want a whipping or a “dropped” aka self detached tail.
Pretty much they don't know how powerful iguanas can be. I once had a baby iguana, maybe 25cm long when I was 10 years old. One day she escape from cage and bit my hand, blood coming all around my finger so I quickly get her back to cage. This girl in the video was just lucky it was a small cuts
Even people who own iguanas and love them dearly know to be careful when feeding their scaly babies by hand. Iguanas don't have the same depth perception as us humans so even if they aren't TRYING to be aggressive, they can still bite you.
Iguanas actually have a third eye above there head to danger like to see birds that are gonna pick them sometimes if you scare them they have a strong tail can whip you and trust me they hurt and bite all the time so never disturb or try to play with as they will identify you as a threat
You don’t pet an aggressive wild lizard capable of giving a grown male human being stitches, and at that size I’m surprised it didn’t take off her thumb.
What did you think what was going to happen? Wild Iguanas are very aggressive when you pet them…😕😪 . You need to watch what your children do. That is your job to protect them and if they do something wrong tell them to come and don’t do it!☹️
