There is no version like this one. I can't hear it the old way in my head anymore. My brain goes to the PTX version now. Their arranging is next level. Probably the best arrangers of the last decade.
I've never heard anyone put an African rhythm to this song, ever, and it's by far the greatest arrangement of this song I've ever heard. It IS the bench mark by which all other covers of this will be judged. And Pentatonix does this with regularity, PARTICULARLY in their Christmas albums. They're arguably most famous for redefining what Christmas music sounds like. It really is remarkable that an acapella group has pulled this off in a highly competitive music industry.
Great reaction to a great song! Please check out Amazing Grace, Kirsty has a solo part where she starts high and I swear goes higher like 5 or 6 more times. It's truly something to hear.
If you loved this one I would check out their White Winter Hymnal and Carol of the Bells. This song was inspired by Kevin's mom being from Nigeria and his roots there and I absolutely love it!

It was Kevin's Nigerian heritage that influenced the beats and style of this old Christmas hymn.
I can't hear this song without dancing anymore 😊❤️
Absolutely love this version!!! They did Carol of The Bells as well. That is the best version I've ever heard! You must see it!
If this isn't a JOYFUL noise, I don't know what is.
This is the most excellent version ever! I could see that smile on your face when it kicked in for you. Wonderful!!!
Kevin added to this arrangment to reflect his Nigerian roots.
The most joyous song ever!!!
They always put on their Pentatwist... on every song!
This just makes me smile
So joyful! Love this!
