Borderlands 2: Killing Pyro Pete as Zer0 with many different guns, new World Record!

Pyro Pete is a raid boss from the second campaign DLC, Mister Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. He is a raid boss that has a lot of health, but isn't quite as aggressive or difficult as some of the other raid bosses in the game.
Zer0 can kill Pete with a wide variety of weapons. In this video, we compare a bunch of different legendary, unique, and Seraph weapons in order to see which are going to be Zer0's best options for dispatching this raid boss.
We take a look at the Infinity, as well as other legendary Vladof weapons like the Lyuda and Shredifier. We take a look at a legendary Dahl Pitchfork, but also a non unique and a Sandhawk. We look at the legendary Hyperion SMG, and some other Hyperion weaponry including the Invader and Lady Fist.
I also take a look at the Droog and see how it compares in two different rarities. We also look at the Patriot. The Jakobs Muckamuck is also covered.
In the end, nothing can compare to the Lyuda, and I was able to set a new World Record against Pete using the Lyuda without the community patch applied.

A good way to tell how strong a sniper is on zero is to see how many stacks of critical ascension it has by the time the enemy is dead

@@wickedthemadhatter9713 Dont think so the infinity is an awesome weapon its just people like you are easily blinded by eye candy weapons as a matter of fact the infinity gets more use than any other gun I wield its that amazing , gunzerking dual infinitys with the highest fire rate while lobbing magic misslies is hella of a lot of fun. And not gonna happen with a white rarity sniper rifle or did you just make that up?

@@wickedthemadhatter9713 I gunserk 2 of these at my current level which is 0p1 atm level 81 I toss a magic missle grenade and just melt stuff , I specced him for fire rate and he is a destroyer then when I hit a real tough mob just swap to grog and DPUKH and save so much ammo in the process. So you say its got nothing else going for it, Am gonna say you have no idea what your talking about and I'll leave it at that. Have a good day!

This is a great concept for a video. Would love to see more unconventional weapons/builds against raid bosses in future videos.
Words cannot describe how much I adore that a white rarity Vladof sniper can easily outpace the Infinity.
It's really just Critical Ascension that outpaces it, but yeah you're right, it's really cool to see.
I know, and despite that some people will still claim that the Zer0 has more synergy with the Infinity. These are the same people that do mobbing runs with a Grog+DPUH and think Shamfleeting is a playstyle.
I saw someone complaining that he killed himself with a Norfleet while Shamfleeting.
I still think Shamfleeting is more fun than Grog + DPUH though. That one is just like, hold both mouse buttons until everything in the screen dies.
I mean, I tried it and I admit that it's fun to click and watch everything melt. 30 seconds later, I was bored, so I returned to Maya with Derch's Twisted Pimp build.
If critical ascension is the only reason that the white vladof sniper outpaces the infinity, certainly the infinity is still better? I mean, on gaige for instance (with Smaller, Lighter, Faster) the infinity doesn't even work, does that mean it's the worst weapon in the game? No. It means situationally the infinity isn't a good choice, a Zero build with critical ascension would be one of those situations. However with a near limitless number of builds and 5 other completely seperate characters, the infinity has potential to be a decent weapon.
What I've learned: Farm for an infinity right away.

First of all this is a great video in both quality and entertainment.
This proves a lot of points for as well as against certain weapons and in addition to that showed playstyles and gameplay for a bunch of good weapons for Zer0.
And personally it showed me a bunch of weapons I will certainly have fun with in the Future , thanks for that.

I love the concept of the Bee, but it's painfully obvious raid bosses were balanced on the assumption that you'd be using one. Which is a crying shame, given how many other equipment mixes are possible.

They weren’t designed with the bee in mind, they were designed with 4 skilled players using specialized builds in mind. Using the bee just makes it a lot easier to solo them
How did you get the inventory interface to be smoother? I play on PC (Handsome COllection) and my inventory interface looks a lot blurrier than the text in the main menu, for example.

Using the best weapons to kill terra using zer0 would probably mean that he only will use sniper rifles. Still think that the Lyuda would win 100%, but it will be interesting nonetheless.
Trying to kill Terra with anything else will probably put you on suicide watch very fast.

I think the pitchfork could beat the lyuda, under the best possible conditions i.e. perfect drop reloads, two fang keeps bursts going frequently, good terra behavior
Well, it depends if the patch is applied or not. Without the community patch, i 100% think the Lyuda would win, and with the community patch... I still think the Lyuda would win.
Terra might have horizontal crit spots on his face, but you'll deal most of your damage when he rears his head to roar when summoning tentacles or surfacing from the ground, causing it to be vertically aligned instead. Most of the time after he rears his head he'll face towards you, meaning that it'll be harder for you to get his horizontal critical hit spots.
But like you said, perfect Terra behavior. That's the key.

Funny story, i wanted to get back to BL2, and i'm practically forced to start a new zer0 because my muscle memory is fucked up for FPS games because i've been playing 100+ hours of Dark Souls III on keyboard.

Shadow wo1f05 I oftenly switch character with Gibbed, and play with no legendary item except class mods, the game still fun and challenging.
Always wondered, what happens if u switch to the Alkaline Bee right before he does his second nova? Will u be affected by it or will u catch DOT? Havent played in awhile sorry if this is a dumb question.
It's possible to switch shields at the right moment and not take either DOT, but it's a pretty small window of time and rather difficult to pull of consistently.

Very good to see a direct comparison of all the different options! Have you considered trying out the Pearlscent Stalker pistol yet? Post community patch it is a real dangerous gun with the boosted projectile speed.

if you use a elemental resist relic will this also block the dot damage from the nova?..or can only shields do that
only shields. relics would REDUCE the damage, but not negate it.
It is awesome how you show how many zero builds work. I really like zero (although I have a crush on tediore axton, including fastball) and all this without any bugs (like that one of infinite Morningstar stacks or that other one called Salvador)
I'm fairly new to this channel so I don't know all of your opinions, but I was wondering what you think about Salvador aka the gunzerker and whether or not you will ever use him in a video. I really enjoy the content and hope I get a response but if not thats okay too.
Well I been watching Fiber for awhile and I can say he actually doesn't like Salvador he likes Zer0 and I think Maya the most but mostly Zer0 if I remember correctly I mean this is what he said I think in one of his older videos farming Terra. "Some people said I could just use to kill Terra easily. But I would rather be stacking blocks then to play Salvador" Or something along those lines I don't remember exactly but it was somewhere along those lines. Which Zer0 is fun but I'm more of a Gaige and Axton fan myself but that's the thing with Borderlands you can do whatever you want as long as you can kill things. But yeah he just doesn't like Sal at least I believe he doesn't from what he said. I hope this helped.
I believe he thinks Sal is extremely boring to play. I share his sentiment to a certain extent.
I think it would be a good thing for future videos to put links to the mods you use in addition to the community patch like the gemstone and pitchfork skins and the longnail. While these mods are still easy to find using the community github it would be a nice thing to just have them in an easy to access location. Also for anyone still wondering how he is able to have increased backpack/eridium storage space that is something you can do by hex editing your game and more easily via the hex multitool which gives useful features such as inventory space and maximum levels to edit.
I have not play bl2 in a long time, but where do you find this new rarity weapon like the anarchist? Is this a new weapon rarity or has it been in bl2 for a long time?
Anarchist is a postfix, meaning that it's affected by the barrel of your weapon. An Anarchist is a Vladof-barreled Vladof pistol.

those gemstone weapons can rarely be obtained from buttstallion in vanilla and the patch adds many ways to get them such as a guaranteed 3 from a iron god or guaranteed 4 from the dragons

Bee shields can have a immunity prexfix on it ? never seen 1 in like 5 years playing game or did you make it in gibbed?
Immunity bee's can drop normally.
It is a one in every 40 bees you will get one with an immunity prefix

If the longnail ignores shields, wouldn't it be better to have a fire version instead of shock? Or does Pyro Pete take reduced damage from fire?
He takes virtually no damage from fire or corrosion.
I think if you really are going for an infinity run the chaotic evil rogue isn't too bad. It can get you up to +31% extra rate of fire and +45% critical hit damage and also give you 6 extra points in velocity.
I think that might be enough to outclass the 50% additional damage boost you get when bringing 0ne sh0t, 0ne kill to +10 with a legendary sniper com, especially because you do overally get a better crit bonus than just the +5 in headshot and vel0city from the legendary sniper.
I would have to test it first, though.

Problem is its insane recoil at full auto. You wont hit as many crits

How do the Sandhawk pellets move so fast? Is it the prefix? I though Flying only added another bird

He had flying. Better fire rate by 10% and bullet speed by 50%. Velocity 100% bullet speed
checked out the other guy's channel, amazing content, but my eyes hurt at 480p so I quit after a few vids. Nice vid too and will make sure to keep an eye out for some of those weapons when building into a raid boss killing zero.

Is the shock element the best to go through Pete's health ? I would have thought fire or corrosive would.
He heavily resists both those elements. At least with shock you can use a shock bone to increase damage.

Question, why didn't you use a shock variant of each for the shields then switch to a fire copy for the health portion? I mean, we all know shock is mediocre against health.

Yeah, we'll check them out. I know that the pistols and shotties should be excellent on Axton now that they get grenade damage.

I shoot him with the trespasser + legendary sniper class mod and his helmet doesn't come off. What am I doing wrong?

Why every time u start a new fight u shoot the trespasser once . What does it do?
Because it is used to break Pete's mask, that way you can shoot him in the head and get crit hits, if you don't break it you won't be able to crit hit

I'm pretty sure (from my own experience) that elemental bee shields are not a thing. I think I got a grounded one ONCE and never alkaline or inflammable. I've gotten hundreds of Bee drops. Super frustrating.

O negative, or just longbow transfusions in general with 0 fuse moves faster than the Magic Missile and also heal.

You don't need dlc to get good weapons but, it would certainly help.
Why did u have 973 eredium at the end of the liyuda kill?
Because a 500 eridium cap is stupid.
Through hex editing you can change currency caps up to somewhere near 2.7 billion if I'm remembering the number correctly. Despite that I would recommend if you do do that to not go too overboard since some display errors might begin occurring.

I think community patch makes it so that the extra pellets comes sooner than it should be. And in one of his video, he said it can get up to 14 pellets (he did said he might be wrong on that). Now imagine all those unlisted pellets to be boosted by the Bee.
