Fellas, the rear USB port on the ATOTO Starter is used for Carplay/Android Auto. The extension cable you need to use even has the label on it, it says (AA/CP). Also the 2connect unit (the small black box) is used for your steering wheel controls (and other stuff). In your case you may need to connect "key 1" to the cable on the wiring harness of the ATOTO. Lads - the USB your showing at 5.29 is the one that needs to be installed in order for Carplay to work. I am sure I saw another UA-cam video saying Carplay doesn't work when you plug into the front USB , it only works with the one that plugs into the back.
Why let Lee fit the diffuser when there's an "Audi Certified Technician" right there? :)) The yellow tint on the carbon bits might be an issue, which happens usually due to heat and sunlight. Could be a clearcoat issue which can be treated like paint.

Sometimes the USB on the front of these type of radios is different to the other-some are for USB music and firmware updates... try plugging in the USB fly lead and plug your phones in there. Also make sure it’s a genuine apple cable.

XTRONS makes plug and play solutions for Audi. I replaced my RNS-E with a $300 XTRONS units that I am very happy with. I even have a backup camera now in a 2007.

Fair play, your mechanical skills are improving by the day! after failing to fit a stereo head unit (which my 10yr old daughter could have fitted) and failing to fit a carbon fibre-esq rear diffuser (made from an old wheel bin) you did manage to fit a pair of "clip-on" engine covers and 20 wheel nuts (on the second attempt).. Keep going lads, at this rate you will have reached the dizzy heights of an oil and filter change by the end of 2021.. As for the Right Said Fred Tribute band, will the pair of you be going back on tour when lockdown is over??
You should torque up the locking nut... just never use a pneumatic or battery ‘bus gun’ on them, also release torque the locking nut first so the others are the tighter. 👍
To get Apple Car Play to work with that head unit connect the second USB cable you were provided which you stored into the glove box, Fit this to the back of the head unit and plug the iPhones cable into this and Apple Car Play should work for you
You lads thought you were having your pants down with £75 from an indie Audi shop - I got quoted 600 to have a 270 quid headunit installed! They was talking bollocks about it needing some kind of special adapter to connect to the Bose Surround system. 🤣
Plates look better than they did mainly due to being shorter, but as a rule i like standard plates just maybe a bit smaller or shorter looks good but fancey plates for me can look a but tacky ....good video as usual lads, i fitted an xtrons head unit in my a4 that was pretty good 👍

That usb you got in the box goes in the back and is for caraway. You can't use the front USB for carplay
To get apple car play to work on the head unit you'll probably need to use the USB on the back of the stereo
If you guys wanna use Apply carplay/ Android Auto, Just connect the USB interface to the back of the radio.

Most likely the USB on the rear of the headunit will activate the carplay instead of the front? Just a guess...
You need to turn on the factory amp in the cars Bose system. You can run a power antenna lead to the factory amp turn on wire.
I had a similar issue with apple car play , try a different cable even if your one charges it can still not support car play

Guys that maxton diffuser will fit iva had maxton splitters and side skirt splitters on my TT and fitted perfect.

I've got the same stereo in my 3.2,, Halfords have some nice upgrades, touch screen Pioneer and Kenwood systems, they'll fit it for you.
