The issue with politically correct media isn't that it doesn't offend someone - there's room for all types of entertainment, even the PG stuff. Its that it's usually done out of fear. The people making it are often so afraid of offending ANYONE that the final product is a mess that's meaningful to NO ONE.
I know some comedians who do "clean" comedy simply because that's how they roll, and they're funny as shit. But if you're trying to write a clean sitcom just because you think doing anything else will get you attacked, it probably isn't going to end up worth watching.

    • @theALTF4

indeed, iglesias is a good "family friendly" comedian.
but anyways, humor tends to be used a a tool to confront hard-to-swallow ideas and break dogmatic thoughts, as well as open for philosofic discussion from time to time.
some folks (you know who 😉) want to sanityze comedy for one undestandable (yet still wrong) reason: that humor can be weaponized as ways to spread misinformation and hate propaganda (it has before and is been) but like... if i hate a group, ill do ANYTHING to hurt it, from fisical harm to sneaking propaganda because in my mindset, they're the bad guys, and im the "hero" doing the "right thing". and at the end, the average joe with no wrong intention pays the price... and the attacked comunity gets so paranoical that believe everything is an attack, and start attacking the average joe (ironially pushing it to become a hater) as "retaliation" for the supposed hate attacks and demandidng innecesary pressive "safe measures". creating a defensive cycle of DONTDAYTHISCUZOFFENSIPRESSIVE↔URCENSORINGMEANDIDONTHAVEBADINTENT. a hate self sustained cycle of hate n fear of offend/get hurt. that just detriment relations.
gud ol irreverent duckman spittin fire

The trick isn't to offend any one or two groups, that would come off as racist and sexist. No, you need to offend ALL of them. If you're equally offensive to all groups then you're really just offensive for the sake of humor.

Remember everyone, every joke. Every. Joke. Makes fun of someone or something. The only difference between kid friendly jokes and offensive jokes is kid friendly jokes make fun of a socially accepted laughing stock, and offensive jokes make fun of the groups society deems protected.

I guess if every joke. Every. Joke. Making fun of someone or something is defined as deriving humor from that person or thing being the subject of a joke, that's probably true, but if you mean that every joke. Every. Joke. Is insulting to its subject or the teller or audience of the joke, then I don't think that's true. Your use of 'laughing stock' for the kid friendly jokes makes me think you mean the latter option.
"Why don’t monkeys play cards in the jungle? There are too many cheetahs!" Who or what is that joke making fun of? Monkeys? Cheetahs? People who cheat at cards? People who are too scared to play cards because of cheaters? The audience for not getting the answer immediately? I think it's just wordplay, with no target under attack. But this joke does fall into the subset of every joke. Every. Joke.

Because they weren't, pc comedy was a thing back in the day, and it was always a debate about whenever it should be clean or offensive. It would be more prophetic if it showed everthing being PC, not just stand up comedians, which again, already existed.

It's almost like history and human experience is more then one generation or short scope of Discourses in the immediate.
