Yup, it was the first ever spy shot of the all-new 2020 Corvette. People thought it was going to be a Cadillac, too. The second batch of spy-shots were none other than heavily camouflaged actual C8 Corvettes and people also thought those were Cadillac sports cars. I just don't get how people are still fascinated with that brand.
I have a confession. I saw the new C8 Corvette from a different light today. I usually have to grow into liking a car, but this time I grew out of liking a car, given that I liked it right off the bat. Sometimes down the line, maybe 3-5 years later I ask myself how I could have liked a car. Today, I did that with the Corvette. The Ferrari has a nice shape, the lambo has a nice shape. This car looks like someone designed the front and someone else designed the boxy back. The boxy back takes a lot away for the asthetic. Even though the sales will be great, because there are so many people excited about the redesign and all the power, lots of people will have the same negative feeling about the car. It looks like a 2000 concept Corvette, that already aged. I think it's the boxy back of the car that makes it look that way. Don't get me wrong, it's gonna sell like crazy. I was hoping this car would steal cars from Lamborghini and Ferrari, but now I feel it won't. All the C5-C7 owners are gonna be buying a lot of the C8s. Still a very awesome car.
After reading the comments, I don't think many people understand the Holden Ute was never meant to be. It was camouflage to hide the structure of the vehicle they were actually working on which was the C8.
Great interview. I just wish you asked Mike Petrucci how he's going to spec his C8. With Mike and Tadge Juchter, Chevrolet has some outstanding spokesperson/engineers.
