    I had to dig up the rule book to see what would happen if you settled on the 11-12 for the win, because black would've gotten road at the end, putting him at 11 points. But it states you have to declare victory on your own turn, so you'd win, and black would be very salty losing with 11 points >,

      haha I was about to comment the same. Technically, if he settles for 10 points, he gives road to black who has then 11 points (with the VP). So technically he loses, doesn't he? :D

    if u had the seetle on the last turn , you would have won with 10 while black would have lost with 11 (he gets the road). that could have been a catan hystory

    I had a win percentage of 24% in Catan and would often lose in placements itself. Thanks to your videos, I am now carrying a ranked win streak of 7 games and going. Your videos are the best! Keep going strong.

    Ah would've been so cool if you were able to settle on the 11 12 giving black longest road. From what everyone has said, black would actually lose the game at 11 points which is absolutely hysterical. Well played anyway

    if you and black where at 8 roads and you plow the road away from white who gets the road?

    • @dandydrew
      @dandydrew  Рік тому +7

      It goes to whoever has the longest road after the plow. If it’s a tie, I’m not entirely sure… anyone know?!

      This is the direct quote from the base rules:
      "If your longest road is broken and you are tied for longest road, you still keep the "Longest Road" card. However, if you no longer have the longest road, but two or more players tie for the new longest road, set the "Longest Road" card aside. Do the same if no one has a 5+segment road. The "Longest Road" card comes into play again when only 1 player has the longest road (of at least 5 road pieces)."

    • @vamsikgp
      @vamsikgp Рік тому +1

      @@dandydrew assuming you have road card and your road got cut, you still keep it if you are tied on roads with someone else.
      If two of other players are tied, no one gets the road card.

    • @jahmive
      @jahmive Рік тому +1

      @@fisher00769 thx so technically you can have the longest road card without having the longest road a new goal has been set i wil provide screenshot if i ever succeed

    Haven't finished the video yet, but it does feel like 4 11 is basically the only placement White could've gone for in that position. Only other potentially viable spot to my mind is the 6 3 hoping to snag the 3:1 port from red or the sheep port. Feels like a struggle of a position though.

  • @chrisnorwood0211
    @chrisnorwood0211 Рік тому

    Something that I always have in the back of my mind while playing is getting settlements on different numbers so that you're getting resources basically every roll. You had a settlement on every number except 12 so you would basically always bhe getting resources. Unfortunately you were blocked 90% of this game and basically every time the 4 was rolled it was blocked.

  • @ZzZ-qd1zo
    @ZzZ-qd1zo Рік тому

    It's a shame you couldn't settle and break white's road. Hilarious to win, and at the same time, give someone an 11 point loss.

    What if at 13:42 you used the YOP to buy 2 woods and build 3 roads to try and connect and go for a road play. Would that have been better?

      drew would've won, because even though black would be at 11 points you can only win on your turn. so drew building to 10 points there on his turn would mean he would win. alternatively black would probably be flabbergasted by losing with 11 points lol

    You’re so disingenuous with your table talk. You keep telling people not to trade with XYZ cause it’s too strong but then go ahead and scam others. Its such toxic behavior and kinda annoying. It’d be one thing if you were open about it like “yea Im lying this is good for red” or “they really shouldn’t be trading me” but to pull others down and when someone does the same to you is just bad behavior. You could learn a thing or two from DyLighted

      Devesh - Dylan and I are very good friends and competitors… if you knew our relationship, you would know I am joking with him and giving him a hard time, as friends do. Strategically, I also know he tilts more than he should - Good players find and use exploits. No one complains about poker players who use their opponents’ tendencies against them. Instead they praise them for being strategic and understanding that no one is immune to the pitfalls of human nature.
      I saw your comments after our game - You resorted to insulting and shaming people who are having a friendly game of catan. I would recommend you look in the mirror about your own behavior and realize, it’s just a game. Best to you - DandyDrew
