I was about to roll my eyes at the shameless branding until you explained that this little pen will open up the hobby to a whole new demographic. Well done Tim
That was my angle on this and frankly, I am hoping this video reaches some new people who may not buy the pen, but will try the others I mention at the end: Safari, Metro, ECO! Thanks so much for watching. I am always looking for creative and interesting perspectives to expand this hobby.
She is a known fountain pen user and groups her songs in categories of quill, fountain pen, and glitter gel pen. To describe the type of song/mood. I bought this for my 10 year old swiftie and we did a video together about it on my channel. I'm thrilled that she put out a fountain pen. However, I think it could have been higher quality even at the price point. Also, when I tried it with various converters and cartridges and nothing fits it. So that's disappointing. The opening is international standard, but the pen is so slim, they don't fit.
Thanks so much for watching! I'll try to check out your video sometime soon. Thanks for the great information. I hope everyone sees it. It certainly could have been better. Any one thing could always be better. This one is probably best kept boxed and wrapped for the collector and fan of Taylor's. I have so many feelings about your review on this, Hemingway, and all of them are good!😊😇 I'm not a Swiftie. The only song of hers that I have on my playlist is the one you referenced at the beginning... with The Civil Wars. So, I'm not the target audience for this pen. But you get all the cred for treating the younger generations (and Taylor, herself) with respect and seeing this as the opportunity it is - education and a welcome to the hobby! Good on you!!! You could have reviewed this as the experienced FP enthusiast that you are. You could have mocked it from "on high" in the realms of Dark Academia. You did not do that! You brought the best spirit of Mr. Rogers himself to this review and I love you for it! Brava!
New Swiftie in my 60s here. :) I love the idea of this pen! In terms of pen collecting, I have a 12 pen case and have decided that's a big enough "permanent" collection for me for variety and to ensure I use my collected pens regularly. There are not many empty slots. To get added to my collection, a pen really has to stand out for reasons that make sense to me. This one earned a slot!
I love how welcoming you are here. I hope you reach her fans with this. It is an excellent welcome to our community. I always appreciate how you don't engage in gatekeeping, and instead make this a lovely place to be. Great job, sir!
We should probably mention, for new people who have never used a fountain pen before, that when you use it on our standard cheap recycled paper it's going to feather like crazy. That's not the pens fault. That's the paper.
Also depends on the ink. Inks like Waterman tend to be fine with even wet writers, on cheap paper. Standard inks from older brands tend that way, as they're formulated from well before "fountain pen friendly" paper was really noticed. (Historically, paper was generally not friendly for the type of inks that get noticed today. )
I like the way you've pitched this. Someone like Taylor encouraging more young people to use fountain pens, to journal, to write more and express themselves can only be a good thing IMO. I broadened my musical tastes during lockdown to include Taylor, Aurora, Tuuletar, Beloe Zlato, Otyken, Trio Mandili, and Otava Yo, in particular. Further down this rabbithole, I've been led to Chloe Slater most recently.
This review is a good one because you included some basic operational knowledge about fountain pens, inks, and paper to which any new to the passion viewer might be needing. I am glad you did not trash it, as it indeed looks like a pretty solid pen. I like the screw to post so you don't lose the cap thing. I was actually looking at a similar non branded pen on Temu for about the same price and this one looks better. I am with you that even if it gets just a few new fountain pen 1st timers into the hobby , it's a win for all involved. I think you should try for an interview.
Thanks very much! I appreciate the kind words. I don't think it would be right to trash it. It's not that kind of thing and it can have very positive impacts on the lives of those who bought one. Why denigrate that? I think it should be celebrated and applauded. Thanks for watching.
I was hoping to get a closer look at this pen. Thank you for a great review video! This is a perfect video for new fountain pen users to stumble upon - hopefully it gets a lot of views and hopefully this pen attracts a lot of people into this wonderful hobby!
I’m so proud of you, HJ. This was a brilliant way to usher a new generation of FP lovers to the hobby. Perhaps another young woman will write a classic poem or song. I imagine another person would have made fun of this merchandising effort, but you again showed your class.
Appreciate your video on this. Am glad that the pen actually works, sometimes merch can be of bottom shelf quality. Instructions would have been very useful for anyone who has never used a fountain pen.
I'm a recent Tay convert (spouse dragged me to a show- it was amazing)... I picked up the pen for her (had to get it from the UK Taylor store for only a small premium - it was MUCH less than the eBay scalpers). I agree with your assessment - It's a nice little pen that opens up the world to a new audience. I did a tongue-in-cheek comparison to my Pilot E95S... The Pilot, of course, won decisively... But it was nearly 10x the price... And it doesn't have the Tortured Poets logo... :P FWIW, I use one of those empty cartridges you can fill with a syringe... A Taylor pen REALLY should have ink with a little shimmer... So I went with Colorverse "Cat Glistening". :)
Exceptional job as always HJ 🙂 So appreciate the history & thorough information. Thank you! Will be saving this to share w/new fountain pen users I know.
Excellent evaluation Tim. You covered all of the bases. Realistic price point, easy to ink, great balance, nib doesn't skip. Only missing is comment about the clip. Thanks for your thoughts.
Love it want it it keeps being sold out and it’s making me really mad because I want it so bad to add to my fountain pen collection I love Taylor Swift
My first thought was that this pen looks like a mascara wand. I won't be buying one for myself, but I might buy one for my young great-niece, who is a TS fan.
I really appreciate how you made this video for the new fountain pen owners who have little or no experience with these fantastic, elegant instruments. Might I suggest you give it away to your subscribers? Thank you, HJ!
I fell down a rabbit hole when Taylor Swift released this pen to understand “why?” I’m not a mega fan but it sparked my curiosity….It turns out in her song writing process she categorizes songs as “Glitter Gel Pens,” “Fountain Pens,” and “Quill Pens” to group the different styles. Apparently the latest album is considered all “Fountain Pen” songs.
Me? I'm holding out for the Taylor Swift instructional video on felling trees in the Amazon Rain Forest in 120F and 90% humidity. Such fun. I can't wait.
Ladd, thank you for the gift membership from this most recent Tuesday. I’ve been a musician and artist all my life, therefore dependent on patrons in one form or another, so I suppose accepting patronage from you continues that. But patronage for me to be a patron is a new dimension!
Nice video! I think it's great because this could be the 1st fountain pen video a new fountain pen person sees! And I hadn't thought of that before this!!! You approached it in a very helpful way for any new fountain pen writers!!!!
Who knew that Taylor Swift merch includes a FP with the TPD branding? That's genius marketing and a great way to get some Swifties into the hobby! Loved your video! I'm looking forward to the next one.
Well isn’t that fun! A delightful review and a welcoming video geared to new fountain pen users. You gotta love anything that invites another generation to enjoy our hobby. I mean, she totally could’ve sold some kind of cell phone or something! Great video!
Hi HJ! Thanks for the honest appraisal of the TS pen! I agree, the more people who get to try fountain pens, the more fun for everyone! It is quite interesting that ANY celebrity type person would merchandise a fountain pen! Good on her!
I'm waiting for the sparkly version. BENU will probably get the sparkly Taylor Swift pen out first;they know how to skirt the copyright laws, having already released a Mickey Mouse,Winnie Tha Pooh knockoffs.
Now, let's not make fun of the fine Armenian craftspersons at BENU. They're tapping into a previously unexploited niche group: people with money, no taste, and the aesthetic sensibilities of a seven-year old. Golly! This Taylor Swift business is definitely bringing out my dark side. 😳 Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
@@TheStockwell Yes. $170 is already pushing it for a steel-nib pen. The hand-painted ones are over-the-top expensive;and I would agree about the aesthetic sensibilities. A little darkness just accentuates the light. Shake it off, dude.
Absolutely spot on. It's good to see a new entry point into the world of fountain pens. It also makes an authentic connection to the Taylor Swift brand. The price looks reasonable for a solidly made pen.
As a fountain pen fan who is also a Swiftie, I pounced on this when I saw she'd released a fountain pen. I did it despite expecting it to be poor quality, especially at the price point. I was really pleased by what I ended up with. Like you, I was thrilled at the idea of getting a whole new set of people interested in fountain pens. In fact, when I watched your review, I pulled mine out of a drawer, where it had been unused for over a week, and I was surprised that it wrote instantly without any priming. That's better than my Safaris do!
HJ, I’m so pleasantly pleased with this video. I love the backstory, and the respect you’ve given this woman. I’m not a Swiftie, but I have many friends who are. They ALL asked me about this particular fountain pen and my thoughts. Now I have a source I can direct them to 🎉 I’m hoping, like you, this will bring new users to the hobby that are interested. We all start somewhere, right? To all the dang naysayers… “they will dry out the pen, they will press too hard, they will use it and leave it” I need to repeat, we all started somewhere. Thank you again, friend. Excellent video. 😊
Absolutely in agreement with your take. While it may be just a basic pen, it will hopefully help bring others into the hobby, and help fountain pens become more popular with a younger crowd. Here's hoping!
Great review! Good way to attract a younger demographic to the hobby. I just wonder, the cartridge looks like a Jinhao standard international cartridge? What do you think? Or have you tried it with mainstream brand standard international cartridges?
I think you’re right. It is quite slim. I haven’t needed to refill. I probably will clean it up and save it for my daughter. I do think you’re right. Thanks!
I don't personally like the looks of the pen, but I appreciate the idea of it and it's capacity to introduce new fp users. I also commend you, HJ, for touching on some beginner information during your review. Well done!
I like that you geared this review toward people new to fountain pens. One piece of advice to those who don't have experience with fountain pens: The paper you use is more important than the pen. Unlike ballpoint or gel pens, fountain pens require high quality paper. Clairefontaine and Rhodia paper is great to start with! Even the best fountain pen will work poorly with standard copy paper.
Folks who represent their personality by not knowing things reminds me of the time I was doing a social media consult for a luxury brand and the owner told me how proud he was to not know anything about Paris Hilton. Like my dude I am not asking you to be a fan but I am asking you to have the information to do some business analysis here. Anyway, Taylor Swift is nothing if not an extraordinary business woman and if she sold it at $15 there is probably some fountain pen business intelligence to be investigated there, at the very least. (Also, the design is sort of sleek, I Iike the look!)
Thanks, HJ. Looks like a bargain for 15 greenbacks. I don't care for her type of music, but I think Taylor is gorgeous. Hopefully her pen will get more people interested in fountain pens. Which may be her intention because she could've made more money off of them.
Hi, I am a fountain pen user and collector, so I bought this pen. It cost me £20. (I am in the UK). Indeed, I agree with Hemingway and all his comments. It wrote nicely out of the box, the nib seemed smooth and the ink flow was generous. However, after using the pen and storing it away for a day with my other fountain pens, when I opened it up to write with it almost the entire contents of the cartridge had leaked into the cap and splashed over my desk, my hands and clothes as I uncapped it. I was covered in the beautiful black ink that came with the pen. Checking to see if this was a one-off, I refilled the cartridge and left the pen lying on a desk in a horizontal position. Opening it carefully some hours later, I had a repeat performance - the ink had dripped into the cap! I have washed the pen out and put it to one side. Unfortunately, I don’t think this pen will encourage people to take up the use of the fountain pen - it will merely confirm to the uninitiated that fountain pens are messy. I, of course, may have been particularly unlucky with my pen. I will be keeping it, not using it and not passing it on to anyone. The pen is a great idea, just not fit for purpose.
Interesting pen. I expect to see a few in book bags this year. And maybe on teacher desks? But not mine. It's sold out and being scalped from $40 to $150 !
Ms. Swift refers to some of her songs as "Fountain Pen Songs", "Glitter Pen Songs" or "Quill Pen Songs" depending on style/mood. Some of the promotional shots for Tortured Poets featured a Montblanc looking pen on the desk.
@@HemingwayJones yes, but as has been pointed out, what a great introduction into the world of fountain pens, the art of expression through writing, and all the things.
Not a Swifty myself, but I was impressed by the quality of the $15 pen. I think it might be perfect for those individuals just starting out in fountain pens. Welcome all Swifties to the Hemingway Jones channel and join us wont you. LOL have a great day folks. Tim really good video.
I have been trying to get my 10 year old granddaughter to journal and write with a fountain pen. If I can get my hands on this pen that might do the trick.
Cool review - I can confirm all you say. I'm a fountain pen fan (I'm 61, grew up using them at school and I've never given them up). Also a Taylor Swift fan for the last x years. The album this pen is branded with is, in my opinion, possibly her best - but I'm old, what do I know! Saw her Eras tour a few weeks back. Felt driven to buy SOMETHING from her merchandise... I've rarely done that sort of thing in all my 61 years... and woah! there's this pen (£20 in the UK). Arrived a couple of days ago. Like you say, it's an excellent pen for the price. The branding IS going to wear off if you use it much - but the pen will still work! I do have a question for you or anyone who might know - I'd like to get a converter for it, none of mine fit, all too big. Looks like I'll need a mini, and the bore will need to be 2.6mm. But identifying one like this online looks a bit hit and miss! Seeing as you have one of these pens in hand, you might be able to advise? 🙂 Many thanks if you can help.
@andrewrusse Well, that is definitely a point against it. I expect TS fans would love all the glittery inks available, and all the colours. Too bad the lack of a converter will limit those options for all but the most curious and determined.
@@evilcritter yep. I can confirm the mini Jinhao cartridges fit, just. I understand that's a "standard" mini size, but I rarely use cartridges. The bore size is good (that's where the Kaweco mini converter failed... it's too small!), and the cartridge does fit in the barrel with some coaxing ... the cartridge base needs pushing past the brass fitting and feels tight down the end of the barrel... but the pen screws back together and works. Perhaps more important: when you take it apart again, the cartridge isn't left stuck in the barrel! Just needs pulling past the brass fitting again.
Thank you for the review. Annoyingly, the instructions don't say what sized cartridge refill the pen takes. The pen takes a Jinhao cartridge or a 2.6mm convertor which can be easily found online for not much money.
Well crap. Now I have to buy one because my wife is a big Taylor Swift fan and has one fountain pen that she actually uses. So she’ll probably love this.
@@HemingwayJones Ordered and on the way for her. I had to pay $40 on eBay for it though. Not horrible but the secondary market prices have the expected escalation. But even at that price it’s worth it just to make her smile!
Not the biggest Taylor fan, but she gets my vote for penabling teens and young women who will most likely try fountain pens because of her. In fact, the way she brands her work, she's building up a kind of slow living/cottagecore thing that just works for those of us with shelves full of inks...like little potions 😃 I may have to pick this pen up. Now, in terms of celebrities...I REALLY need to know what fountain pen Kendrick Lamar was using in that halftime commercial a few years back...
It's great to see a celebrity promoting fountain pens by releasing a branded pen, and to top it off, keeping it in a price range that is not out of line for her fans. While the gift box is a basic paper one, the packaging is still more than you see from a lot of fountain pens in the same price range. Definately a branded Chinese pen, but even cheap Chinese pens have been coming out with much better QC than they used to, which is something that can't always be said for more expensive pens. That cartridge, when you inserted it, made me a bit nervous with how it leaned, looking like it would fall out. This is great for the hobby, don't know if I'd get one, but it is nice.
@@HemingwayJones hahaha. I’m kidding. It was a brilliant idea on seeing your video to order it for my niece. She will love it. And a good was to introduce her to the fountain pen world.
🙋♂🙋♂Hı from Türkiye.. I am happy to inform you about the Istanbul "Pen Fest" event, held at Çırağan Palace on 9-10 November 2024, where all pen lovers and companies in the world will meet. Thank you for the video.🙋♂🙋♂
@@HemingwayJones Ms. Swift refers to some of her songs as "Fountain Pen Songs", "Glitter Pen Songs" or "Quill Pen Songs" depending on style/mood. Some of the promotional shots for Tortured Poets featured a Montblanc looking pen on the desk. Google "Taylor Swift Fountain Pen Songs". :)
I very much appreciate Taylor Swift's approach to launching a pleasantly functional fountain pen at entry level so that the younger generations be exposed to this magnificent writing instrument in its real greatness up the road. It is so thoughtful of her not to take advantage of her huge fan base. Perhaps she might be a factor in bringing fountain pens back to their former glory.
I believe her fan base is trendy and they will use those pens until they are dried out and then be on to the next thing. One thing her marketing team knows is BRANDING.
That is certainly possible, but even if a few are enchanted by them, they are welcome here with open arms and warm smiles. Thanks so much for watching!
of course they would introduce such an item for sale....its well over 1000% markup from its Chinese pen origin...lots of gain and very little risk of loss...Sadly, most of the same folks that would purchase this pen would bemoan the existence of the very same Chinese company, trying to extol invisible attributes to this model over the exact same pen from the original manufacturers
I love the look of the pen, but would only buy it if it were not made in China and had no branding on it. I agree it was nice to offer it at such a low price. I have a feeling most TS fans will ruin it or not know what to do with it when it runs out of ink. Not sure they would bother to watch some Fountain Pen 101 videos before inking it up.
I wouldn’t recommend buying it without the branding. That is where all the value is with this one. It is so collectible. Kind of a lower price point Wes Anderson Montblanc.
I mean, definitely respect that she didn’t overcharge for it. But I have a feeling that a good number of any prospective new fountain pen users are going to end up with pens that sport horrifically scratchy nibs with misaligned tines. That’s not doing the hobby any favors. BUT, I’m willing to wager that a good deal of buyers will keep it in the box just to have it.
Won of the mechanics at Iggy's auto in norridge his wife works at O'Hara cleans she found alstar in the men's room, and keep it ill show angel to used a fountain 🖋️.
I'm an elementary school teacher, and this pen is going to school with me. Every Friday I draw names form a hat of students with perfect attendance for the week. The winner gets a special prize, and one option will be to write with this pen for the morning--spelling tests, notes to friends, whatever. I think we have a winner!
It reminds me of SIPLIV Wood Brass fountain pen, but longer. Chris Saenz made a review of it. 15 USD is relatively cheap, but it still feels a bit overpriced for me. It feels like a 7 to 10 USD fountain pen. Semms to have a great nib, but poor quality body. I have respect for Taylor Swift though. She could price it for 50 USD.
The pen is generic, and the Swifties need to hang on to the empty cartridge, as it appears on camera slightly different from the standard size international cartridge, which also precludes it from an ink converter. They will need to refill by ink syringe. I can see the material costs from the manufacturer with branding to be $3-$5. With limited quantity, her team knew it would be sold out fast, so no lingering inventory costs. They will still make money from it.
Taylor Swift is pretty irrelevant for me. And I see no reason for me to get this pen. But there are two things I really like about this. 1: She's not doing this to earn money. Her royalties on this should be insignificant. 2: So a candidate reason for this, could very well be that she wants to introduce her fans to the superiority of fountain pens? Could that really be it? Awesome in that case.
Quite possibly. Evidently, she is really into them. You know me, My Friend, I only hope that you liked the video! I am glad that you watched. Thank you!
The reason that I don’t like it is that she’s a multi millionaire singer, and she would have a fountain pen that you could basically buy off TEMU or Aliexpess Plus, she could afford like a 14 karat gold nip fountain pen instead of a genius nip, which is almost on every single wish fountain pen, or temu and she could afford it so I don’t know why she’s going for such cheap materials. You might as well just get a disposable fountain pen with her name on it because that’s basically what it is. I’m happy that it’s helping people get into the fountain pen world I just think that for such a big Singer that has a lot of money she could do better on it. edit: even a nib with her name on it would be better than just having the genius nib on it
Edit2: and also, why couldn’t she have partnered with like platinum on the platinum preppy or pilot Metropolitan or heck even Lamie but instead she has one that’s made in China that would most likely is very cheaply made.
Valid points. By the way, I appreciate your watching the video and I hope you liked it. I do compare this to some offering that have crazy mark ups and I am happy it’s a pen.
I'd actually be curious what their market research showed about pricepoint: $40 is not an expensive pen from our perspective ... but $15 is ridiculously so from the perspective of people who normally buy Bic Crystals.
My girlfriend likes Taylor Swift. Sometimes I look at her with disgust as this grow woman of a Swifty sings along with this garbage that I can only describe as sounding like warm mayonnaise. As much as TS suggests to us that she is a “dark poet” (audible eye roll), her fans are, from anything I’ve seen, not societies poets and artists, so I feel fountain pens will be lost on them beyond letting the ink from the first cartridge dry in the pen… but hey… I guess let them try. We know our kids won’t be President or an Astronaut but you still encourage them to reach for something higher.
It is fine if you don't like her music, but calling her a "nullity" is laughable. And what is wrong with the pen looking like a "makeup stick"? Kaweco Sports look like tampon applicators. Benu's look like lipgloss or mascara. Jinhao look like tiny sharks. The variety is what keeps us interested and buying. There is something for everyone in this hobby of ours. I'm glad most of your followers appreciate what you have done here, Hemingway. Successful women always have their haters, sadly. Hating the pen because it looks like something a woman would keep in her purse is quite telling.

Awesome, thank you! I appreciate it so much!
Excellent evaluation Tim. You covered all of the bases. Realistic price point, easy to ink, great balance, nib doesn't skip. Only missing is comment about the clip. Thanks for your thoughts.
Or lack there of! Truly! A rolling pen for sure.
Love it want it it keeps being sold out and it’s making me really mad because I want it so bad to add to my fountain pen collection I love Taylor Swift
So sorry. I hope you find it. Thanks for watching.
My first thought was that this pen looks like a mascara wand. I won't be buying one for myself, but I might buy one for my young great-niece, who is a TS fan.
I can see that!
That’s what I thought too.
Well done, Hemingway. I think I’m going to binge listen Taylor for a while. Right after I watch more of your posts!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I really appreciate how you made this video for the new fountain pen owners who have little or no experience with these fantastic, elegant instruments.
Might I suggest you give it away to your subscribers?
Thank you, HJ!
Thanks very much! I am so glad you enjoyed this. Thank you! Actually, I have a little Swiftie in the house, so it's already spoken for. Thanks!
@@HemingwayJones I thought it might have your daughter's name on it... 😉
@@tman065 Most of the fun inexpensive ones do! Thanks! I wish I had bought 2.
I didn’t know this and I wish I did before I filmed! Thanks for this wonderful comment.
@@HemingwayJones congratulations on getting one to review! Many of us missed the boat. I’m glad to see it performs well despite the modest price.
I'm holding out for the Taylor Swift four-way tire iron.
LOL
Me? I'm holding out for the Taylor Swift instructional video on felling trees in the Amazon Rain Forest in 120F and 90% humidity. Such fun. I can't wait.
That will also increase in value with time.

Thank you Chris! I appreciate that so much. I hope you’re well.
Who knew that Taylor Swift merch includes a FP with the TPD branding? That's genius marketing and a great way to get some Swifties into the hobby! Loved your video! I'm looking forward to the next one.
Thank you very much! I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Well isn’t that fun! A delightful review and a welcoming video geared to new fountain pen users. You gotta love anything that invites another generation to enjoy our hobby. I mean, she totally could’ve sold some kind of cell phone or something! Great video!
Thank you!
Hi HJ! Thanks for the honest appraisal of the TS pen! I agree, the more people who get to try fountain pens, the more fun for everyone! It is quite interesting that ANY celebrity type person would merchandise a fountain pen! Good on her!
Thanks very much! I appreciate your watching!
I'm waiting for the sparkly version.
BENU will probably get the sparkly Taylor Swift pen out first;they know how to skirt the copyright laws, having already released a Mickey Mouse,Winnie Tha Pooh knockoffs.
Steamboat WiIlie (the early form of Mickey Mouse) went off copywrite earlier this year.
@@Calcprof As did Winnie the Pooh if he's NOT wearing a red shirt.
Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
@@TheStockwell Yes. $170 is already pushing it for a steel-nib pen. The hand-painted ones are over-the-top expensive;and I would agree about the aesthetic sensibilities. A little darkness just accentuates the light. Shake it off, dude.
Sparkly! Yes!
Absolutely spot on. It's good to see a new entry point into the world of fountain pens. It also makes an authentic connection to the Taylor Swift brand. The price looks reasonable for a solidly made pen.
Thanks very much! I appreciate you watching.
Thanks so much! I appreciate the kind words. I’m glad it is working out for you. Stop by again and all the best.
HJ, I’m so pleasantly pleased with this video. I love the backstory, and the respect you’ve given this woman. I’m not a Swiftie, but I have many friends who are. They ALL asked me about this particular fountain pen and my thoughts. Now I have a source I can direct them to 🎉
I’m hoping, like you, this will bring new users to the hobby that are interested. We all start somewhere, right? To all the dang naysayers… “they will dry out the pen, they will press too hard, they will use it and leave it” I need to repeat, we all started somewhere.
Thank you again, friend. Excellent video. 😊
Thank you so very much!
Absolutely in agreement with your take. While it may be just a basic pen, it will hopefully help bring others into the hobby, and help fountain pens become more popular with a younger crowd. Here's hoping!
Thanks very much, Moonlover! You are the best!!!
Well done!
Thanks very much, My Friend! I appreciate that. This is exactly the angle I was aiming for. Thank you!
Very well done, sir! You again showed lots of class. Go, guy!
Thank you kindly!
Brave move, Hemingway, and great review!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Good video as per HJ. Not a pen for me but it is great for the hobby, huge boost awarness.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching it!
I love your videos, was worried for a long time that not many of us Chinese Americans were very much interest in doing English Calligraphy!
I hope lots of her fans find this video! Great introduction, thanks for posting this.
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it.
I used to own a fountain pen as a kid. Her fountain pen got me back into fountain pens
That is so wonderful! Welcome back! I hope you enjoy it.
I would not be embarrassed to use this pen.
I love this about you.
Nor would I, this is a good conversation starter.
Absolutely excellent advice. I hope everyone sees this.
So where can this be purchased for $15? I can only find it at $40 plus!
People may be asking more for it as time goes on. Good luck!
I think in the realm of celebrities and they prices they put things at, this seemed fair. She is impressive.
Thanks, HJ. Looks like a bargain for 15 greenbacks. I don't care for her type of music, but I think Taylor is gorgeous. Hopefully her pen will get more people interested in fountain pens. Which may be her intention because she could've made more money off of them.
Thanks Man! Got your letter!
Wow! Is it going for that much? Looks like I got it at the right time.
Is there a scene, anywhere, of TS using a fountain pen ?
Not that I could find. Only that one image from the video with her holding it in a very unique manner and I am unsure if it is a FP. So…
Ms. Swift refers to some of her songs as "Fountain Pen Songs", "Glitter Pen Songs" or "Quill Pen Songs" depending on style/mood. Some of the promotional shots for Tortured Poets featured a Montblanc looking pen on the desk.
@HemingwayJones My roommate holds her pens like that. I bought her a Pilot Metropolitan, which she enjoyed.
A good video this pen looks great thanks for the review. Only 15 bucks!
Thank you so much for watching!
Not a fan of Taylor but she is and her parents are marketing geniuses. And I do like the idea of the “TPD” of her album.
It is a great title for an album or a poetry collection. Thanks for watching.
I would love to get my hands on a couple for the Swifties in my life
Right?! That is the major appeal of this one.
@@HemingwayJones yes, but as has been pointed out, what a great introduction into the world of fountain pens, the art of expression through writing, and all the things.

I have been trying to get my 10 year old granddaughter to journal and write with a fountain pen. If I can get my hands on this pen that might do the trick.
Yes! That’s really the power of this pen.
Based on your review, I bought one for my grand daughter (14). It will be her first fountain pen. Thanks!
Many thanks if you can help.
Someone commented that the converter for the Kaweco sport fits.
@@evilcritter Nice one, many thanks. I'll give it a go.
@@evilcritter Sadly, I can now confirm that the Kaweco sport converter does not fit this pen.
I’m should have mentioned that. Thanks for this great comment!
Brilliant. Well done!
Thank you!!!!
I hope a lot of the Taylor Swift fans are going to try to get the pen and use it. Maybe while trying to write their own Taylor-like songs ;-)
That is a lovely idea!
Yeah real shame it’s sold out the price is nice and Taylor is a brilliant writer.

I hope you find it!
It appears to write quite nicely. A surprise!
Thanks for watching!
Well crap. Now I have to buy one because my wife is a big Taylor Swift fan and has one fountain pen that she actually uses. So she’ll probably love this.
Wonderful! You won’t be giving up your nice pens for this, but it is an excellent collectible.
You just made me get one 😂
Look What I Made You Do! So sorry! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
@@HemingwayJones hahaha. I’m kidding. It was a brilliant idea on seeing your video to order it for my niece. She will love it. And a good was to introduce her to the fountain pen world.

Could it be?......that Taylor Swift is one of us???????? We need to find out if she's a romantic and writes her songs with a fountain pen!

Thanks very much, My Friend! I appreciate your being here.
@@HemingwayJones And I appreciate all that you do for our community!
I’m just thinking that some other pop stars and celebs would put something like this out much higher.
I don't think the nib should stick out from the feed that much. It seems like it wasn't inserted propperly. :/
It works brilliantly! Thanks so much for watching.
This is HUGE. Now, I want Tay Tay to use it, showing the audience. Making it affordable to young people, is wise.
Thank you!
If Taylor Swift gets her fans to write cursive, just to write really, good for her! 👍
Truly! I may seek out her handwriting to see if she does.

I'm an elementary school teacher, and this pen is going to school with me. Every Friday I draw names form a hat of students with perfect attendance for the week. The winner gets a special prize, and one option will be to write with this pen for the morning--spelling tests, notes to friends, whatever. I think we have a winner!
Aaaaah! She’s everywhere..What a nightmare!
I'm glad you shouldn't eye drops this pen lest her fans 'burp'.
It looks like a Chinese 2.6 mm cartridges. Maybe the Chinese 2.6 mm converter like from Jinhao can work.
Very cute
Thanks!
I don’t want anything to do with this new demographic.
I am so over everything her .. I'm sorry no thanks
NO Thank you !
I'd actually be curious what their market research showed about pricepoint: $40 is not an expensive pen from our perspective ... but $15 is ridiculously so from the perspective of people who normally buy Bic Crystals.
This is an excellent point! Without a frame of reference, how do you price it?
@@HemingwayJones Exactly! 100% agree with you though that I hope this gets Swifties to try / enjoy fountain pens!
No, thanks.
Why so bitter? What if she thinks as lowly about your favourite artists?
TS is not worth my mind share.
I appreciate the comment regardless, so thanks for that.
@@HemingwayJones I am sure it was a good video. I am just not a TS fan. . . .I know comments help your algo.
She is a brilliant businesswoman and cares about her fans. I think she is pretty admirable.
Taylor is a nullity. And the fountain pen looks like a make up stick, shame you are pushing this onto us…
Have some fun. It may get some new people into the hobby.
Looks like the pen is worth $15 even without Taylor's branding. Good for her, and good for you for pointing out her respect for her fans.
