I don't know if you read comments here Jacob, but I just want to thank you so much for your contributions not just to music, but to the world as a whole. Your music makes the world a bit more beautiful, and when I and I'm sure others listen to it, all is well and beautiful. Sometimes life can be dreary and difficult, but your music can change that, even if just for a little bit. I've always thought music to be the closest thing to magic in this life for that reason. Maybe I'm just a crybaby, but it truly makes my eyes water writing this because I can't thank you enough for what you've given to us both now, and the future since music like this will go down in history. I'm truly grateful. And as a sort-of musician myself, you give me a lot of inspiration as far as what I could possibly achieve or strive for. I don't know, there's so much I wish I could say, or feel I could; but it's hard to put it to words. I just hope you know you truly affect the lives of many people for the better. I hope to listen to your incredible music and artistry live some day. Again and once more -- thank you so much for the beauty you've given us all. I can't possibly say that enough.
Jacob's music and the humble approach he takes towards making, performing and sharing it is truly breath taking. My life really took a turn for the better once I discovered his music.

Didn't think Bossa Nova could be innovated into any further amazingness but here we are, best use of the style I've ever heard. Strings work almost too perfectly within it. Fav song from this masterpiece of an album
Emocionante ver o querido Jacob fazendo uma grande homenagem a bossa nova. Soa como as grandiosas orquestrações de Claus Ogerman para João Gilberto, por exemplo.
Lying in my bed and listening to this for the first time, on hifi speakers and with the lights off late at night...man. Listening chronologically, there had already been some fantastic tracks before this, including "Feel", "Sky Above", and "Make Me Cry". But as the first string notes of "À Noite" swelled in, I knew this was something special. By the time the bass entered, I was in another world completely. This is the top track on Vol. 2 for me by far!
Easily my favorite song on the album. So magical, so pretty. Stimulates so many emotions and feelings; brings back memories I never had. Laugh at me all you want, Brasilian friends, but I actually started a Portuguese course on Duolingo after hearing this song, which I’ve been planning to do for a long time now.

Bossanova, here sounds even better in the magical voice of the Portuguese songwriter MARO. Great choice Jacob, the harmony of the two (thousand voices) of you both , is wonderful.
I was listening to this on Spotify for the first time. When À Noite led right into Lua, I smiled so dang hard. That warm and luscious Bossa Nova feel hugged me so tight as I sat on the bench at my bus stop under the sunlight.
Much love to Jacob always, and MARO is so obnoxiously talented. Her entire solo catalog is flawless. I love that Jacob is doing so much with her. Her voice is like a warm blanket for the soul. As is Jacob's. This is definitely one of my favorite expressions from Djesse so far. It's harmonically interesting and still refined; not a sensory overload. And damn do I love when Jacob plays them keys!
i believe that i found out who the hell Jacob Collier is about one month ago, and since then i have been obsessed with him. i think i watch his Tiny Desk concert at least 2 times per day. as a brazilian guy, bossa nova plays a essential role in my musical growth, just like the blues and jazz as well. i couldn't express my delight to see a 25yo dude from UK making such a grand bossa theme with such an extraordinary orchestration (i bet he wrote it all) and honouring the life and music of João Gilberto and Tom Jobim the way this little fella does. i bet they're up in heaven listening to what he's doing while they're send him all their blessings smoking a cuban cigar and drinking a glass of bourbon. kudos to you, Jacob! and thank you for being this awesome!
For me A Noite interlude is one of the most beautiful things i've heard. I've heard a little bit of Debussy and Stravinsky mixture and then the transition to Lua is just heaven. I think you your "classical" composing is the best the same with Once you from Djesse vol. 1
Jacob, I cannot afford to die until you finish all of Djesse. These worlds you make with these vastly different people are incredible. They are all absolutely beautiful, and I must experience them. Thank you for making me grow so much as a musician. Love the Bossa Nova feel!
