- Be swept away by the flow of intermystical spirituality as Swami Padmanabha and Brother Alberto Varona explore the interweaving of their journeys in mystical traditions. Brother Alberto, a devout member of the Community of Francis and Claire, clinical psychologist, and director of campus ministry at Saint Xavier University, shares his profound journey back to his deepened roots in Christianity after practicing Gaudiya Vaishnavism for nearly two decades.
In a unique and enriching dialogue, Swami Padmanabha and Brother Alberto delve into an exploration of practical and theological mystical Christianity and Gaudiya Vaishnavism, and discover a richer, more interconnected understanding of these profound spiritual paths. Stepping into the perspective of each other’s traditions, they (and we) are able to look back at their own with a more nuanced and richer vision.
Some of the threads of this rich conversational tapestry are:
• What is the relationship between the certainty of religion and the mystery of God
• What would faith look like if it was grounded in belovedness?
• How do shame and feelings of unworthiness impact our approach to our practice and our relationship with God?
• What is the relationship between mystical spirituality and institutional religion and how do them impact each other
• The practice of presence in mystical traditions-God’s omnipresence and our own omniabsence
• The influx of grace.
• What is the ultimate relationship with God for which they each aspire.
• How nonduality leads to unified diversity. - Розваги
Thank you so much for this conversation!🥹 Brother Alberto and Swami Padmanabha are so authentic, deep and inspiring. Love the part about the certainty of God’s unconditional love❤️🔥, and healthy uncertainty regarding the mysteries of God who is unlimited🌌
Wow! Thank you so much Brother Alberto for a wonderful conversation. I appreciate the integrity with which you are trying to live your life. It's an inspiration. Hare Krsna. God bless!
Thank you! Living in a forthright way to preserve our dignity, always comes with a cost. But the benefits of authenticity are great.
Wonderful talk!!! ❤
Lovely. Thankyou both. So many conversational streams into possibly unfathomable wells ... more to discover here.. ❤
Super fascinating talk. I loved hearing from Brother about how he integrated and harmonized his Gaudiya background with his present Christian identity.
Thank you. It is certainly a journey for me.

Jesus Christ taught man to be human..... with simplicity, love and mercy he made God known and seen in the face of our brother, without hypocrisy, laws of purity, particular rites...
I love this man's intellect... kinda rare doncha think? getting outside the tradition maybe gives unique realizations... i appreciate what he said about the body being so key to experiencing the ecstasy that Mahaprabhu modeled.
Very kind of you to say. And yes, the body is always crucial in mysticism. We know nothing of it otherwise. Thank you so much for listening.
@@bralberto WE were taught to hate the body in the old days.... Big mistake... and like you say, we don't know much beyond it so better to use it wisely... while we still have one.
@@33333Tarun In Christianity, eternity is imagined with a body. There is only a vague theology of disembodied eternity. In Gaudiyavism, the eternal spiritual body is made of consciousness (or sat cit ananda). Interestingly, the resurrected Jesus is said to have been able to go through walls/closed doors. So maybe not solid matter?
Did you say he’s living with his husband?
Yes.
