We camp every chance we get at Gulf State park and have often thought about going over to DI. We will definitely check it out now. BTW, this is the first video we've seen of yall. I LOVE your style of presenting the information. So many channels will talk for 5 minutes on a bit of info when 30 seconds would have been a plenty. Yall don't do that. Yall go straight to the info and you just got a new sub.
We love DI. It's such an amazing and relaxing place. Thanks so much for joining us. We try to put out the same things we would like to watch. Thanks again and safe travels. 😊
Hello Lynn and Danny. Yes $50 and under is a good price AC in the bathouse is a plus. Have to put this on my google map. Thank you for the review have a blessed day.
Hey Lynn and Danny you already know how we feel about your reviews. Totally agree it looks like a perfect B and I would give it an A for the location when you say peace and quiet that's worth 100 the ending looked so beautiful we love island locations a walk to the beach Is all I need at a Campground. Your grand baby is so darn cute!! Thanks for sharing this location dont worry it will be a long time before we can go but I did have to mark this down it looks like a spot we would really love. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the Happiest New Year!!😊
When you go we will have to meet-up. We already booked it for a month next fall. You will love it. It's a great place to camp and hangout. DJ is a sweet heart. Hopefully by next summer he will be hanging with us in the campground. Our Christmas was great. We are on the road for the new year. Hope you had a great Christmas and a blessed new year.
I haven't visited Dauphin Island in almost 40 years. I'm sure it's changed a lot since then. Thanks for the review. Cost is a big issue for us as we are retired and live in our coach full time. Do they offer monthly rates? $45 a night is $1,350/mo. which is almost my entire SS check, putting it out of our price range. We don't need hook-ups as we're setup for boondocking. Our large solar/battery system has allowed us to live off grid without plugging into a power pole or running our generator for the last 2 years. We prefer to boondock out West, but when boondocking places are scarce, like where we're at now on the East Coast, we like to utilize RV parks or campgrounds with inexpensive dry camp sites and monthly rates. We're wintering over at a convenient RV park while visiting family in NC. A spacious, no hook-up site here is only $100/mo. We dump and fill every 2 weeks just like we are boondocking on BLM or Forest Service land, but the park dump station is only 75 yards away, which is very convenient. It only takes us about 1/2 hr. to dump and fill so 1hr dumping each month saves us $500 off their FHU rates. I've got to admit this is the first time I've made $500/hr. tax free! Hope to see you on the road one day!
Oh wow. Sounds like you are all set up. We just got our solar this past fall and are looking forward to being able to boondock more. They do have a monthly rate here. I think about 600 a month. Not 100% positive. We thought it was great for the area. I, too, hope we meet up on the road sometime. Maybe even at Dauphin Island. 😊 safe travels.
I am a Civil War reenactor and we reenact the Battle for Mobile Bay out of Fort Gaines and we fire off the big cannons. It’s a great event to come and see.
It's a Bambi!! 😍The hook-ups were kinda crazy! 😲 That price is reasonable. Grandchildren are worth the stay for sure. Love your campground reviews. Merry Christmas Lynn & Danny 🎄- Jim & Michelle
It is one of our favorite campgrounds. The grandbaby makes it all worthwhile. Merry Christmas, friends. 🎅 May you have a very happy and blessed new year. ✨️
May I suggest one more category? If so, the drive to the campground. Sometimes I go to parks and the drive leading up to it is not fun. Either the roads are very narrow, there are tight turns, or the entrance to the campground itself is not easy. Thanks for showing us this place. Glad you had fun.
That's a great idea. We could include it with the roads in the campground. I know we have been down a few that we said never again. We already have a few recorded, but going forward we will include it. Thanks so much. Safe travels.
We have a whole video on Fort Morgan. It is one of the coolest forts I have ever been to. We love the bike trails. Do you live on the island? This is one of our favorite places. We already have our site booked for the fall. Safe travels. 😊
I just wana say more please ! The waters ont the beach will make you wish you had never been born . And and they can see to it ? That you do not live anymore ; ( an I ant kidding 😮
Allow me to extend a warm welcome to you. We reside in Mobile and used to camp there two or three times a year. At that time, we lived in Northwest Alabama. I am pleased to hear you are enjoying yourselves. If you enjoy fishing, you are in an excellent location.
We used to live in Mobile. I, Lynn, love to fish. But I have never really done salt water fishing. This is now my favorite campground. We love it here. Safe travels.
We are a family of 5 who live and travel full time in our sailboat. Currently we’re down visiting Guatemala. We always say if we ever return to shore it would be for an RV. Enjoy watching this episode and will tune in for more.
There are a lot of cool things to do and see. It's a beautiful place to camp. We have done the boardwalk and the fort. We need to visit the Estuarium. Thanks for joining us. 😊
Hello, We live in North Mississippi and were blessed enough to also have a house on Dauphin Island for 6 years, sold it 2 years ago and now looking for an RV. We are new to the RV lifestyle and are looking at a 2021 Fleetwood 32 ft Fortis. What is your opinion on Fleetwood ? This one is very nice, less than 10,000 miles. Any advice would be appreciated.
Nice. I know you enjoyed your time on Dauphin Island. We really know nothing about Fleetwood. A good idea is to look up their Facebook group. They will tell you everything there. You can ask from people who actually own a Fleetwood. I do like that you are looking for a used one. We feel like we saved so much by buying used. You can get great deals, and someone else has worked out the bugs. Hope we meet up on the road sometime. Safe travels and happy New Year.
I've been down there three times, once in the motor home, and twice with the travel trailer. There are some sites that only have 30 amp, a good number that DO NOT have sewer, and on our last trip, My buddy and I asked if we could move, largely because of of the two sites was so tight under a tree and the concrete picnic table slab, that we asked to be moved. We picked a couple of sites and they put us in them. My complaint with the bath house is the poor design of the showers, that allows water to run into the dressing area. The campground was operated by the Parks and Beach Board, but the Town government took it over and the place has been steadily improving since then. The island is dog friendly so as long as you clean up after your pet, dogs are OK on the beaches or elsewhere. Sites need to be delineated better and have at least gravel pads. There are a lot of low hanging limbs that need to go. All in all, I love the place.
This was our first time there. I agree with everything you said. We totally fell in love with this place. It was just such a chilled out campground. We made reservations for a full month next year. 😁 Great comment. Safe travels.
Pin dropped on this one. The satellite map show it is a really short walk to the beach. This may have us switching from Huntington Beach State Park. They have gotten greedy at over $100 a night for a state park
@@RVAmerica South Carolina has definitely gotten greedy. Feel sorry for the people who live there you can not afford to camp in your own state parks that you pay taxes for. I could not imagine paying over $100 a night to stay in a Ohio State park.

I love seeing grandbaby! ❤
Us too. We are actually headed back. That way today! Merry Christmas 🎅
I've taken my daughter's camping there over 20 years ago. One and done for the campground, but loved the town.
Gotcha. We loved the campground. I don't know what it was like 20 years ago. It may have been quite different. We loved the town too. Safe travels.
What a sweet baby. Great campground.😊
Thank you. He is a blessing. We love the campground. Safe travels.

Nothing better than visiting the grandbaby. ❤️❤️Merry Christmas my friends.
We totally agree. Merry Christmas. We hope it is a great one! ❤️
We were just down that way last week and was thinking about staying there but just decided to stay at Pensacola instead. Merry Christmas!
We haven't stayed in Pensacola, but we really love this place. It is the most relaxing campground we have ever been in. Safe travels.
The state park in orange Beach is the bomb soooo much to do 😊
We had reservations there once and a hurricane hit and shut it down. We haven't had the chance to go back. Safe travels.
Can't wait to go sometime cause we know how much ya'll love it. I know we'd love the low stress and laid back atmosphere. Cute grand.
You will love it. It is now our favorite campground. Thank you. 😊😊
Looks like a great campground 👍 I’ll stay away so you have a spot 😉😂
It is. Thank you . 😁😁 Merry Christmas 🎅

@@RVAmerica Thanks! $600 isn't that bad considering the location. We could swing that for one month since we're only spending $100/mo. this winter.
. We thought it was a great price, but your 100 a month is amazing. Happy New Year.

Wow, nice, looks crazy to the small air stream.
The hook-ups where the airstream was at was crazy. Wonder who designed that. 🤔 safe travels, friends.
No mention of the Fort or Estuarium? Indian mounds are nearby too. There is a new boardwalk hiking trails, boat launches and kayak launches.

Never truer words spoken 🎉🎉🎉please we bo not want any peoples what so ever to come to this area .😂😊😊😊😊
I totally agree. We want to keep it for ourselves! 😁😁 See you on the island! safe travels
Nice place.

Sorry, Lynn and Danny! We will need to check this one out.
Rats! Your going to love it! 😅🤣
Merci du Québec
Hi there. We were in Quebec last summer. The video will actually come out on Monday. Thanks for gaining us and safe travels. 😊
Ok if you insist,,, we will never go there LOL!!!
Lol. Thanks. Hope all is well. Merry Christmas 🎅

Comparing to Thousand Trails roads? Maybe they are just trails, instead of roads?
They were definitely roads. Lol. Thanks for joining us and safe travels.
Do they have a barbershop?
They do not. I don't even remember seeing one on the islands. Thanks for joining us. Safe travels.
The locals on the island are doing everything they can to keep tourists from overrunning their home. I can’t blame them, honestly.
I honestly don't blame them either. We have been visiting the island for 20 years. It remains a beautiful place. Safe travels.
A better campground isn’t far from there. Bay Palms with paved roads and concrete pads in Coden and a short drive to Dauphinois Island
We will have to look into that one. Thanks. Merry Christmas.
