It has been 37 years since I left Fairbanks. I have missed being in Alaska almost everyday since. I am not able right now physically and medically to go back and do what you are enjoying. I loved my 3 years there and I have to thank the Army for sending me there and experiencing all it has to offer.
Cannot say enough about how great your videos are... I am with you ON that river..and at your campsite...and every bite you take of he blue berries.I can taste.. excellent video..
Great video of both you and Dave (I have watched his too). You two are a great double act. Loved the bike ride at the end too, just fantastic scenery....utter bliss. Hugely informative video and living as i do in the UK, i am very jealous of these amazing spots.
Whatever you're doing, you're doing it right. Most videos (other people's) are pure energy the first day, and then exhausted vibes throughout the rest of the trip. You guys balance it out well, ending on a positive note. Love it! ✌
It was a great trip to go on with you and Dave canoeing down the Alasian River; camping out ; searching for berch; picking blue berries and taking 😀 😄 that bike ride with you to get the truck. 🦋🍎
I recommend that you consider sewing ties to your fine felt hat so it would not fly off in high winds. I once lost a nice hat to the ocean harbor in a Mexican town because of high winds. Tie laces could be pretty easily sewn to your hat and could be tucked underneath when not needed. Glad you had a great canoe voyage. Looks so fun!
Very enjoyable adventure, thanks for taking us along. I did however think it would had been funny had you said when you got to the truck " Oh No, my husband has the keys!!" just to be joking of course.
I'm a subscriber to your and your husband's channel I love you both. I've always wanted to go to Alaska and watching your videos I really feel like I'm there. Thanks 👍😊
Eating right off the bush, you're so cute! 😁 That reminds me of my sister who kept finding bites out of her strawberries. She finally caught her grandson on his knees eating berries without picking them!
Love you guys you are such normal regular people. I think it's great that you show everybody that this can all be done without titanium and expensive kayaks and tents. A good old truck a Coleman canoe and Coleman tent, an old aluminum coffee pot and enough imagination and grit to gittrdone and you can do any adventure you can think of. You folks are my hero's I hope one of these summers soon I can take one of your classes just so we can sit around the campfire at night and compare stories. I want to hear more about your alone adventures too.
What a wonderful video, dear Girl in the Woods. I was very impressed by the excellent knowledge of the underwood that you have. Canoeing is just as fun. Bye Bye . . .
Part one was great and this one part 2 is absolutely amazing. your knowledge of bushcraft is fantastic. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. Love your channel, love your videos and love you.👍👍🤗🤗👍👍
Being an avid fly fisherman....I hate high wind. I want to take a round house swing at it. Love the smell of sage. I love using the smudges when I can get them. Beautiful country and how blessed y'all are to be there doing what you love to do and best....sharing it with us.
I enjoyed your video as always but it is very nice to see you and Dave making a video together ;-) where i came from the Azores Portugal all the highways are all covered in flowers hydrangeas.
That wind can be nasty especially on big water like Lk Superior. We did a 14 day paddle on that Lake. Sometimes we couldn’t get back on because of the wind . It was a 200 mile trip down the White River then paddle back to Nipigon . It was awesome. 🇨🇦👍
Love me some chipotle tuna and crackers from the DG. I do prefer the chicken salads. Served on a paddle...love the team work on the river. You can always use your hat as your berry “bucket” too. You gobble up berries just like a little bear! Thanks for sharing your personal time with us in the lower 48! Heading to the UP for 5 days to hunt up some Yupperlites!! Say “Hello” to “Bushy”!
My dad & Grandfather picked blueberries in MI & my mom & grandmother made jam out of them. It was a nice, peaceful & interesting video until you hit the road. Then you knew modern things like a road was the time to speed everything up & get going. I know to slow down & let the world go by. Hopefully you 2 will do it also because peace in life is only in your mind & not in the rest of the world.
Yes...YOUR HAT! That is some hand-crafted masterpiece. It is maybe as much a part of your brand as the battered cowboy hat smooth-singing country star, Don Williams always wore. ( I could also have cited 'Boxcar Willie....but....) Totally agree with you about ceaseless wind. Sometimes the wind has driven me back into the tent.
Nice seeing you together doing a video! I would surely pick the wind over the bugs. Wow lots of land erosion. I so love pine tree's. I'm happy you doused the fire with those high winds. Looks like the woods there need some never ending major fire trimming. Lol Mrs. Journey! Nice mix content.
Those Blueberries looked so good. Those Bear berries looked like Jerusalem Cherries to me. I don't know for sure, I've never been to Alaska. Fun video!
It was fun playing part 1 & 2 at the same time on 2 different monitors. Dave should use his gas to make the canoe go faster. You can get even with him if you think about it & he'll never expect but he'll now where it came from.
What a fun adventure Great id ea with the bike so you can get back to the truck Las t time I was on a canoe trip was when I went to camp as a kid Lots of fun for 6 days downth Saco in Maine
What a cool dose of silence ... I can only imagine riding my bike along such a beautiful (and unpopulated!) stretch of road. Thanks for sharing! God Bless :)
Great video, you & Dave had a good trip, thanks for sharing. Blueberries looked tasty, we don't get them growing in the UK but Billberries & crowberries are good right now.
What I do since found the channel, if I am all caught up on newer videos, I go back and watch older videos. I love learning about foraging, crowberry, high bush cranberry, edible moss, I mean everything about the channel is fun to watch, but I love learning skills, I could use in the woods, learning about the natural ecosystem, in this case, of Alaska, where I have not been yet, someday...
So glad to see you! I loved you on Alone, my heart ached for you when you were missing your family. No doubt about it, you would have won. Take care and continue to be the great wife and Mama you are!
Wonderful vicarious video! Worried about you when I saw you alone on the the bike with no backpack. But all ended well, with fresh blueberries as a dessert!
Wow, burn your clean water to douse the fire. Seems like a job for river water to me. Unless you're at end of trip and not needing more fresh water - like on a long bike ride - ha. But I'm just an ameture. :D Fun video, thanks for taking us along on your adventure!
I LOVE watching you two together , I haven't laughed so hard in my life !!
It has been 37 years since I left Fairbanks. I have missed being in Alaska almost everyday since. I am not able right now physically and medically to go back and do what you are enjoying. Agree. Once it's in your heart it stays forever!
I really like the videos of you two on a trip together. I appreciate how you explain things so people that do not know can learn. Thanks so much! 🙏
So beautiful and peaceful Brooke ! You are living the life most only dream of . Great video !

Great video of both you and Dave (I have watched his too). You two are a great double act. Loved the bike ride at the end too, just fantastic scenery....utter bliss. Hugely informative video and living as i do in the UK, i am very jealous of these amazing spots.
Watched his and hers. Great trip. One for the books I'm sure.
You know, the brain is an amazing thing. When you said to smell the sage, I could smell it. I have had that happen before. So neat!!
Whatever you're doing, you're doing it right. Most videos (other people's) are pure energy the first day, and then exhausted vibes throughout the rest of the trip. You guys balance it out well, ending on a positive note. Love it! ✌
Such a cool adventure, Brooke. Thanks for taking us along:)
