I would consider their early songs metal AND j-pop, but their new releases are 100% metal no question about it
Babymetal Death Legend 1997, watch it, then make your mind up 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Calling BabyMetal Jpop is like calling Metallica a boy band. Jpop almost by definition implies scantily clad young ladies lip synching and whose only talent is over-choreographed dancing. These things are definitely not what BabyMetal are about. Type in "Jpop" on any reputable search engine and BabyMetal will not pop up.
0:30 Momometal was NOT part of BABYMETAL in 2010; she did not become a permanent member of the group until 2023. I'm giving this synopsis a thumbs down because of the complete dismissal of one of the founding members of BABYMETAL - Mizuno Yui also known as Yuimetal. Although your answer to the question of "Is BABYMETAL J-pop?" is spot on, in my opinion not mentioning Yui was an egregious sin.
