Amazing engineer and thinker and exceuter of ideas
La tour Eiffel, I use to run up those stairs as kid, we use to go to the 3rd floor using the stairs, good exercise. I believe they removed them from the 2nd to 3rd floor because of weight concerns and stress put on the structure. 4th floor wasn't open anymore unfortunately, I heard you could visite it at first, I think it was because of the radio broadcast station situated there, military secret and all.
Eiffel was a genius, and thanks to him, Paris ranked at the very top in those days.
I had no idea about his research into wind though, very interesting, thank you for this documentary.
I did not know that the man who designed the Eifel tower was also called Eifel. How coincidental is that! The world is incredible at times
he named his architecture work (Eiffel tower) after him…
It's common for building, architecture named after the designer in the old days
The Eiffel Tower looks like a sort of wedding cake or confectionary and yet it was made for radio signal propagation, perhaps unsurprisingly superseded by communications technology and structures of a smaller footprint. How French is that, that their infrastructure looks like it was made in a pâtisserie?
My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining... Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.
