Wasn't rly much into keyboards but it was so interesting watching the modding process that I ended up watching the whole thing! Final sound test is so much better than how it came in initially!
I would hope no one is using dielectric grease for switches, it's recommend that dielectric grease is used only on the stabilizer wire cause it's cheaper and comes in bigger quantity. I personally have some in a syringe so I can add more to stabilizers after the build.
The main issue I have with dielectric grease is that it moves too much, I’ve tried super lube and permatex and had the same problem with it. Thankfully, the stabilizers we have today are much better so as long as the wires are straight, it doesn’t really matter what you use. But back in the day when all we had was durock and cherry clip in, 205g0 was a must for me.
Quick tip if you dont want to damage any switches. If you desoldered all switches the proper way it is possible to pull the plate and pcb apart. That way you dont need to pull out the switches one by one. If the plate and pcb are apart the switches just fall out of the plate
Bauer in 2023 is quite outdated from a design perspective and isn’t worth the price anymore give how cheap some newer premium boards are (relatively off) but that’s just my opinion
Yea it’s the fact that it’s still a famous board that no one is making that’s why it’s still high in price but I agree. A lot of competition entering the field and I love it
I used to think solder was just always the way to go. But in this hobby, stabs need re-tuning, switches go bad, sometimes it takes some usage to even realize something was done wrong on the switches or stab. I always go hotswap now, the difference is negligible

Thanks for watching it all! Hope you enjoyed it

Yea I meant for stabilizers but I agree it’s easier to come by

Ohhh wow let me try that for my next build. Thanks for the tip!

You need to put more lube on wires with seringe
Ughhh agreed tho

I agree! When there is option for hot swap I got for that
paying $900 for a Bauer in 2023? that is like 2020 price, I would not touch this board for anything over $400
The crazy part is that these boards are still going for a lot. I bought this back in November of last year
@@techwithray Nov 2022 the market was still ok, now nothing sells, even brand new keycult 2/65 sits at $1000
@@involuntarysoul3867 that's crazyyyy
