It’s not that uncommon to lose your breath and forget things when these things happen, simple questions to someone else may make sense but not for the victims, they usually end up with gaps in memory from trauma and adrenaline in chest and throughout body(and any other hormones cycling through your body) it’s a defense mechanism to keep your mind safe from the trauma or abuse, but to someone else it may seem far fetched or confusing, it’s one of the reasons people say stories don’t match up for victims, but there’s the possibility their brain has broken it into pieces to compartmentalize the whole thing

Also, she is on a national TV program, being filmed with a studio audience present, and it's obvious she is trying very hard to retain her composure. Having to recount a violent experience like this would be a very stressful and emotional experience. People handle this very differently.
