With all the great prices at HF, the two available Plasma cutters are 300% higher than anything on Amazon as of 2022. Crazy that HF still sells these for such high prices...
I have the same plasma cutter. It sat in my back room for a year. Broke it out last week. The only trouble I had setting up was the cup. I figured it out and for what I do, it's great and it was a gift. I'll use it till it stops.
Great video showing what the cutter can do. I'm guessing you throw a guide up when doing fine work. Thanks for explaining the duty cycle and need for really clean dry air, those are some expenses to consider, I am certain my Husky air compressor wouldn't keep up for long.
Nice, thought about getting one........but I'm gonna keep using my acetylene torch....I already spent my money on that!haha. Yeah gotta get tanks filled, but it's 100% portable, more powerful and simple.
Ive always heard Plasma Cutters in general are Air Hogs what are you using to keep up with its needs ? Just Curious at the moment I’m between homes and Shops As a retired Woodworker by Trade who suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. A few years ago my next shop id like to buy a Air compressor to handle all my Woodworking needs and Do amateur Metal working as Antique and Vintage Automobiles have been one of my other hobbies i would like to increase my metal working skills as right now i can weld things Structually sound but they dont necessarily look the prettiest ! My woodworking doesn’t require a massive amount of Air As i mainly use it for firing nail guns and a occasional Air ratchet or Impact gun for working on Cars I will probably Spray HVLP. Finishes Using gravity fed paint guns to apply my finishes and perhaps a occasional repaint on a Auto or Truck But not any high production. Stuff as I’m a one man show ( old and Crippled now )
I found this same plasma cutter at my local pawn shop new for $300. I've actually never used one and have always just used regular cutting torches... I personally have a hard time getting my tanks filled because I don't want to have to pay a yearly lease on the tanks simply because I don't do that many projects through out the year.... I thought about getting one of these because it seems like it would be handy to have when a random metal project comes up... I hear that you can cut cleaner holes in steel with a plasma cutter. Not really sure of all of the advantages... I'm rather confused on the settings... Also, I only have one 220v circuit in my garage and it powers my air compressor. So I'm assuming that I'd have to have two separate 220 circuits in order to use this machine... Any tips, tricks or info would be appreciated... Thanks.
I've been wanting to get a plasma cutter. It would only be used occasionally so inexpensive is good. How much was the plasma cutter and consumables? If I'm going to buy an air compressor dedicated to the plasma cutter alone what specifications do I need to look for in the least expensive air compressor?
When you're looking at air compressors to run a plasma cutter you're going to have to remember one thing, it's going to use as much air as a die grinder or most any air tool you have. If you're not going to do a whole lot of continuous cutting then you know you can get by smaller but you need at least probably a 6 CFM and it needs to have a large tank. And now that is for a small cutter like he's using. The compressor will still kick on while you're running but just keep an eye on your pressures while you're working
So glad I got Bestarc, Pilot Arc BTC500DP 7th Generation as it will cut 1/2" on 110V and way more on 220V unlike this Chicago Brick sold at Harbor Freight!
Mike K no not every cut is sloppy. For this video I was showing that it can cut the material. But if you take your time the cuts can be really good. Thanks god bless
You can still get them the HF here in Escondido has them they are 660. Too much for a HF plasma cutter in my opinion tho. Bought mine on amazon for 329 plus it has non touch pilot arc.
Great video just had a quick question is the chip always lit when you pull the trigger. If you were cutting expanded metal would you have to fire the trigger each time you came to the metal or would it be one trigger pull for the pass.
If it's a pilot Arc machine then it will stay lit even cutting expanded metal. It looks like that is what he has there. If you notice and just got down and started cutting there was no trying to strike it or anything.
LaserFalcon yes I believe so. As long as you keep the air dry and take care of it. I had mind for about 2 years I use it everyday on jobs and projects.
Thanks Machine! You covered all I needed to know, I’ll get one. That may be your best video yet. Keep it up.
Lawrence DiGiovanne thanks
I noticed these are on clearance now in the HF web site. Wonder if they are coming out with a new version.
1D10CRACY I think they might come out with a new one. It over due.

Yeah but you can return and replace it pretty easy at Harbor Freight in town if it fails with Amazon then you're stuck with it basically
@@optimusprimer4392 Oh I totally agree though!! Not ashamed to say, I’m a big HF fan!! LOL!
You did a great job explaining the pluses and minuses of this little machine

Pretty 😎 cool I’ve been wondering about these👍
Thanks dude. Great vid

More powerful? lol nah
I appreciate your review.

Hellow is it low or high frequency
Is it compatible with CNC
I need one might buy one from harbor freight to start with thanks for the video
Hubert Robinson no problem thanks for watching
Got a new 64808 model and I can't figure out how to adjust the regulator. It's tight & don't want to break it.

Plasma cutter $499.99, $13.99 tips and $26.99 for the electrodes and I use a 125 psi air compressors it a 21 gallon. Hopefully this helps. Thanks

Do you use a compressor or air tank?
I use a air compressor

Hello
Are you able to cut metal Tubing of about
1.5 inches in diameter with this plasma cutter ?
Yes
So glad I got Bestarc, Pilot Arc BTC500DP 7th Generation as it will cut 1/2" on 110V and way more on 220V unlike this Chicago Brick sold at Harbor Freight!
This would be an inexpensive way gouge welds out for repairs if its not a power house
Is every cut that sloppy or is that just from you rushing for the demo?
Mike K no not every cut is sloppy. For this video I was showing that it can cut the material. But if you take your time the cuts can be really good. Thanks god bless
Does harbor freight still sell these? I can't find them on their website. I can find the tips, but not the machine itself.
Well new information they are phasing the plasma cutter out and coming out with new ones. Hopefully this helps.
what does that tell ya about harbor freight and their junk
ron dill I imagine they’ll come out with a better redesigned one like they did with the Titanium series welders

Great video just had a quick question is the chip always lit when you pull the trigger. If you were cutting expanded metal would you have to fire the trigger each time you came to the metal or would it be one trigger pull for the pass.
Thanks for the comment. As long as you maintain contact with the material it should stay lit and be one trigger pull. Hope it helps. Thanks

how much you pay for your plasma cuterat harbor freight did you use 20percent off coupon
No I didn't could not find the coupon
But Brawndo has electrolytes.
its what the plants crave ..
Que cuesta
Spend a little more and get a brand name.
Which kind and how much?
Plasma cutters. Cut' metal's. Easy .
Did you say how much it is?
Mike G $499.99 on sale right now
You can't cut 1/2" with that.
Prove me wrong
Video coming soon
ua-cam.com/video/a6PAWblo6Ho/v-deo.html
Do you think it will last ?
LaserFalcon yes I believe so. As long as you keep the air dry and take care of it. I had mind for about 2 years I use it everyday on jobs and projects.
Chicago welders are known to be reliable. so this plasma has to be not exception
By the time you got your settings set, I could have done the job with a saws-all cutter
This is a lot cleaner cutting when it’s dialed in though, it all depends on what you’re cutting
I bought a HOBART 12ci then are a PIECE OF JUNK!!!
Don't waste your money on this cutter!!!
Well when you can waste less money like on eBay you can get one for like 1/3 the price
Great video
