Hi! You probably have found it since your comment but it is " auprès de ma blonde", a march that the french used to play since the begining of the 18th century till the Napoleonic wars. Poeple still recognise it quickly and eveyone still knows the chorus in France, Switzerland and Belgium. The chorus goed "auprès de ma blonde, qu'il fait bon de dormir" which means "it is si good to sleep next to my girl" or something the like :)
+Olivier Jacobs Thank you for speaking up and answering his question. I'm sure it's one that others have had, too. And especially interesting given the lyric.
+Olivier Jacobs It took a long time, but I did find it. Thank you for the little back story! I'm more into the Prussian marches, but I really like the European marches from the time of the seven years war.
I need to go see this live!
War without violence, the best kind of war.
You New Englanders have such an incredible history. I love that time period in history.
Great reenactment. I'd love to know what march the French are playing at 2:32. I've heard it a few times and I love it.
