also i don`t get how people act like a midfield of Rice, Bellingham and Foden is unbalanced.
i can agree that Rice, Mainoo and Bellingham is a far more Southgate like midfield trio, but the first midfield trio isn`t unbalanced as Bellingham is a world class 8, and even though he does great at Madrid, he is a less natual 10 then what Foden.
Problem is he’s not really an 8 anymore either.
That midfield is completely unbalanced.
Sure you can give those players certain tasks, but it will limit their ability.
Playing Rice in a single pivot for example, ruins his qualities going forward.
Putting Bellingham as an 8, eventough he excells as a false 9 now doesn't make sense.
This is literally the main reason why England's golden generation failed, in like 2004 for example.
They tried to shove Scholes, Gerard and Lampard into one midfield, limiting them.
Instead of just dropping one and putting a proper defensive midfielder behind them.
Football, especially international, is much more about a proper system than about individuals.

Feel like Mainoo could be slightly heading to being overated territory . Really good player though.
Happened with Rashford, Lingard, Greenwood, Sancho and they all fell off without reaching their peak. Big club slapping silly expectations on kids. Compare it to Liverpool who have Jones and Elliott who had less natural talent than the Man U lads, but will get a better peak, cause they were patiently nurtured. Mainoo playing for England before Jones is madness, but will probably ruin him.
Jones doesn't play the same position as mainoo. In terms of deep lying midfielders England basically have Henderson, Kalvin Phillips or Mainoo. So it's pretty obvious why Mainoo walks into the team
@@jjxed Jones was Liverpool's 6 at the start of the season, and he was England u21's 6 when they won last summer's Euros. Obvs better as an 8. I know he was injured this last itl break, but if I needed one in my squad for the Euros I'm picking Jones. Wayyyy more mature as a player. Mainoo probably has the upper hand rn though.

He’s still only 21/22 years old. Lingard was NEVER rated like that by United hense why he never really started playing till he was 24 years old we used to joke saying he’s a young player. Sancho was rated by the whole world, everyone was shocked that he flopped the way he eventually did not just Man Utd because he wasn’t our academy player and he got messed up by United signing Ronaldo. Rashford on the other hand definitely overrated.

I have noticed before but sky sports do not get the concept of 'blind rankings'. Someone needs to sit these guys down and explain to them. Its just the 5 best players every time. Think Mainoo is heading to overrated territory like what happened with lingard, rashford and Sancho in their earlier years. In the coming seasons, opposing teams are going to figure him out and nullify his strengths which is what happens to most young players are breaking out. Udogie been top 2 left back this season and Palmers stats speak for themselves in an absolutely awful Chelsea team. Bradley is an interesting one for us as he can be the reason Trent finally moves to midfield but at the same time our midfield is already pretty balanced so it won't be a seamless transition. Just hoping Bradley can continue his development

Miley's 16, and is one of the best young players Newcastle have ever produced. Even Bruno G said miley's way better than he was at 16, and said its scary how good hes going to be (he isnt the only one either). I'm guessing you havent seen him play much to make that kind of statement, because I have, and he even looked better than Tonali (the player he replaced), who's rated as one of the best young midfielders in the world.

Mainoo is good but you can’t lie he has that extra Man Utd hype which makes it seem like he’s 10x better than he is. No. 1 is insane, Bradley has been playing in Trent’s position and we almost don’t miss him (I’d still much rather Trent be playing tho). Palmer has been carrying Chelsea all season. Never seen Miley play tbh.
Udogie, Palmer & Bradley have impacted their clubs more than Mainoo or Miley. 🤷🏻♂️

Not saying the older players aren't immensely talented, but adjusting for age both Miley and Mainoo have been incredible. And if you aren't then Mainoo drops down behind the three older players.
