Planting Alliums and Tidying Up the Garden for Winter | Here She Grows

- The 2023 garden season doesn't end until I get my spring blooming bulbs in the ground. And this is the latest I've ever done it! While I don't have as many to plant as in previous years, my planting auger made short work of it. Forty-five gladiator alliums planted in less than 15 minutes? Yep, that happened! And my hands and wrists aren't aching. Not to mention the fact that cool power tools always make me feel a bit tougher, if only in my head!

Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5b in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.

Lovely vid. THANK YOU for not over-layering your vids w annoying music or other white noise. So many creators think its necessary to blast music with every silence. Hearing the natural sounds of gardening is so peaceful and satisfying.
Thank you! I prefer the peacefulness of it too.
Alliums are my favorite! These will all be so beautiful!🌱
They're so unusual and easy. One of my favorites!
I have your hat, from like 30 yrs ago or so 😄, but my flower is various colors. I never pruned my Hydrangeas this years. It just got too cold out for my liking. So now, I'll have more work cut out for me, in the early spring. Not the way I prefer. Oh well. Happy Winter, Heather ❤
Hi Gina! I've had my hat for probably 15 years. Bought it at JCPenney and it's been my favorite ever since. The nice thing about hydrangeas is how forgiving they are. They'll wait til you're ready. Stay warm, my friend.
