Unless if top 40 hits were much better than today's. Since back then the technology wasn't there to make average musicians better than they really are. What's really amazing is musicians back in those days were either drunk or stone out of their minds. Just imagine how better they'll be if they sober. That's real talent. Today, it's all about technology.

Just so people know, this comment is some minor criticism about his playing. He exaggerates his movements way too much. If he were doing it a little less, I could be OK with it. The problem is, to hit the snare once, he cocks his arm way up to hit it with the same force as he usually does when he doesn't cock his arm all the way back. And he has simply hit it normally before, which is my main gripe. There's being flashy to shoe to people watching that you are hitting the drum, if they were looking dead on, but for the amount of exaggeration going on, it's almost like he's just being flashy for the hell of it, and the song kind of suffers for it. But, whatever, take my words with a grain of salt, launch vitriolic comments my way, as is wont of some people these days. I can't stop you, just provide my opinion.

That is how he plays in most of his videos. He has a video talking about this. He does it for the entertainment value I do believe. He also has some videos where his playing is more "practical"
