Who knew a 19 year old singer from Sicily could sing like Barry White?! What a voice!
Luca Di Stefano sings the Marving Gaye classic "Let's Get It On" in the style of Barry White at America's Got Talent. His low voice and the way he uses it is very cool.
Since I'm a vocal coach I also share some singing techniques on how to sing low and show you some voice techniques frequently used by accapella singers to extend the lower range.

Love this baritone with a sulty, little raspy tone voice.
He is singing a Marvin Gaye song but many think that's Barry White. He is definately singing it in a lower range than Marvin did.

Great reaction :) Maybe you could also analyze Viki Gabor's singing skills? She's a rising star from Poland - very young (12 y.o.) yet very talented. She won Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year. Definitely worth to check out :) I'm sure you'll be surprised with the power and maturity of her voice. She's like young version of Ariana - very similar way of singing :)

Do you know what vocal type he is?
Probably baritone or bass. But I would have to hear more from him. In popular music those classifications don't matter that much imho.

Hello Gideon I appreciated your reaction video very much, for an ignorant like me is interesting to hear such technical details abouy voice training. Is it speculation to assume Luca is still too young to have such low timber fully developed? In Italy we have another singer, is name is Mario Biondi (check him out if you can), he said it took him over 10 years to achieve his low timber.
Hi! Thanks for the comment. I think after puberty it should only be a matter of learning to control the voice. Physiological there should be little change imho. In my own voice my low notes have also improved over time. There are too many factors at play to generalize I would say. I'm also training a super-low voiced singer at the moment so I'll probably get more experience in that aera in the coming months.

While I'm not really sold on Luca's singing voice, it is indeed rarely used; maybe I'm just not used to it, but I did not feel much sex appeal there. Still, he did his stuff alright, and he did rock me when he sang the title line :)
