I am absolutely blown away by Luca's incredible voice. It's not every day that you come across a talent like his. But what really strikes me is how Italy, a relatively small country, always seems to produce individuals of the highest caliber. From artists and musicians to scientists and inventors, Italy never ceases to amaze me with the sheer quality of its people.

Before 1970s Italy used to produce excellent artists, musicians(Corelli, Vivaldi, Caruso, Pavarotti), scientists (Volta, Venturi, Fermi), inventors (da Vinci, Galileo, ), writers (Boccaccio, Calvino)... but not so much today. Probably the church's authoritarian power (in 1400s) helped because it pretty much created Western music, prescribing hymn sheets to chapels far and wide to ensure regularity. Today, Italy is similar to most countries that are globalized through new technology and political alliances. Identity is being redefined as the area we come from is no longer of much significance. Although Italy will no longer amaze alone as it did in the past, unexpected talents of all kind are emerging from a diverse range of countries because of the internet.

Gotta admit this guy is COOL AS HELL! Until I listened with headphones, I didn't catch how good his voice sounded...MAN, dude can WAIL! I know music is universal. When I go visit family in Croatia and Calabria,generations today no longer listen only their native music or only opera or classical music or American 50's oldies but also American 70's-80's classics. Barry White's songs are especially specific music,not as common,that's why it's unusual and impressive how well he knows not only White's song but the culture behind it.
