In this tutorial, I catch up with my girl Erica in Kansas City and create her signature look, the wash-n-go, using Aveda's new Be Curly line of products.

I’m currently an AVEDA student, and I’m looking for ways to give my guests with natural hair the moisture and style they are looking for whilst still embracing their curls. Understandably, I have to use only AVEDA products. This has help me tremendously. Today I have a guest with natural hair and hopefully I can mimic your techniques to make it work for her hair.
She's not a licensed cosmetologist, so she only does her friends hair. If most of her friends do not have type 4 hair, there's nothing she can do about that. I'm type 4 (a mixture of all 3), however I still take some pointers from her tutorials even though we're not the same texture. Trial and error, that's all you can do.
Besides, if she did all type 4 hair there's no guarantee you'd get the same results. Stop being afraid of your hair it will grow back if you give it love. 😊

I have been using the Aveda Be Curly line. Great Co-wash , but I am in love with the Intensive detangling masque.
It left my hair soft, manageable and shine. I will be adding these products to my hair line.

Beautiful. I use Aveda products but I haven't tried the curly line. I use the straightening products on my daughters hair because I flat iron her natural hair and it works. We should all give Aveda products and salon a try.
Looks great! I use Aveda products and the "Be Curly" line. I wanted to try the mask and after seeing this demo, will go back and purchase it. I feel the Dry Remedy and Be Curly product lines are worth the money. The shampoo/conditioners last about 4-6 months (or longer). A little goes a long way. Thanks for the video.

Hey Mo! Your friend is super funny and had my laughing throughout your video!!! Love her! Question: I have the issue of my blow dryer being too loud and to darn heavy. You mentioned that it was quiet but how is it as far as weight?
I would consider it lightweight, for such a powerful dryer.

Hey Mo! When you rinsed the deep conditioner out did you rinse in cool/cold water or did you keep it warm? (I've been having real trouble with getting my wash and rinse temperatures correct)
Hey Mo! I've seen a couple videos featuring Erica's hair and I, too, have tangles like hers. I've been doing protein treatments and deep conditions and have seen a marked improvement. However, I'm wondering if you would suggest that we (I'm incl. Erica here, just for the purpose of the question) should cut our hair to eliminate the tangles or would we be able to retain length if we keep the tangles but develop a more healthy hair routine (as I have recently done).

Just a heads up you can get a few of these items trial size on Aveda.com. I too am a little thrown off by the price tag 20 per item. So I'm going to buy the trial size first, and if I love it get the gift kit for 60 which is cheaper than buying the items separately.

I can't believe you were in KC and I didn't know it. I should send you some Jack Stack bbq sauce and more sauce from Gates. Also what are some good dupes for these Aveda products, the Be curly line? I still can't afford these products. And I can not find that CHI oil you use anywhere when heat styling so I'd like a dupe for that as well. I love your vids cuz you're a professional stylist and know how to handle every texture well. Btw I have medium density medium to low porosity fine stands no chemicals of any kind and a 4B kinky S-Z coil. I cowash every other day or every two days.
