Hey! Agreed - it’s such a beautiful spot out there as you’re SO near the sea - I’d never seen a balcony so low down before, but would consider for my future cruises!
After two Costa cruises, there will never be another -- BUT it's looking (just even in the first 10 minutes of your video) like the Diadema is heads above the Pacifica, as if it's a completely different line. Looking forward to watching the rest of your costa ones (doesn't look like you had the normal 1500-2000 children on board!).
Ah, thanks so much for watching! I really enjoyed my time with Costa, although they were SO different to any other cruise I’ve taken. I’d go again, for the right price and itinerary, for sure!
Fraser.... Now thats an embarkation! If only we could repeat that! 😅 Great cabin, sheltered balcony, lovely to have that proximity to the sea 🌊. Thank you for sharing😊. Wonder if Costa ever do a pick up in Soton?
I’ve actually never seen a Southampton departure - they do service most other ports though. It’s actually really quite rare to see a Costa ship in Southampton based on my experience. Agreed re embarkation - if I could have that every cruise, I’d be laughing!!
@FraserAtSea Aye thought that, re Emabark/Disembark for Costa in the UK 😔. Lovely ship. MSC keep getting us on price at present, and Costa seem to have equally good prices, shame! Thanks Fraser .
I was really surprised when you went downstairs and walked into a balcony cabin, I thought it would be ocean view at that level. Anyway, this should be a fascinating series on a line less frequently travelled by Brits. Can't wait for more.
You and I both - I couldn’t believe Deck 2 had balcony cabins - so interesting! Glad you enjoyed the video - hope you enjoy the next one too :) Thanks for watching!
Oh, wow - thanks so much for leaving this comment, Lynn! Hopefully my next 3 vlog series from Costa will bring back some happy memories for you! Out of curiosity, do you still cruise with Costa?
They do have some excellent prices - this is actually one of the factors that attracted me if I’m honest! Hopefully you’ll enjoy seeing more from Costa over the next episodes - thanks for watching and commenting!
Fraser, really enjoyed the video, very quick boarding. Shelter balconies are great, do you have one booked on QM2 in December if not try and get one, speaking from experience you'll love it, especially if you get the right seas (rough for a day or 2)😂
Hi Simon, thanks for watching! I don’t have one booked for the QM2 - I’m experiencing ‘life on the inside’ that week, haha! I can imagine it can get wild on there?!
If you come over to west palm beach Florida and sail Margaritaville at Sea you'll notice right away that it was once a Costa ship from 1991. A lot of the complaints by people is over the look, which is from early 90s costa designs :)
@FraserAtSea Yes when it first started sailing out of West Palm it was called the Grand Classica and we loved it, we always sailed concierge level and their service blew me away, top notch. Now that it's Margaritaville it's gotten far more busy, the tropical updates are ok, but I preferred the Italian costa touches. The new vibe is fun, the food is still good, they expanded the buffet, and the refillable blenders are fun to carry around. Try the License to Chill Package!
Amazing! Almost took a Costa cruise instead of an MSC. The only thing that my cruise mate was worried about with Costa was the language. Will be looking forward to your whole experience. Bruce and Otis
Yeah, the language bit is different to MSC. If I’m honest, it’s not the language the cruise line are speaking that makes it feel less ‘English speaking’, but it’s the fact that there’s so few English-speaking passengers onboard that you need to be aware of! Thanks for watching!
@@FraserAtSea I have heard it can be really good and really…not so good. I am curious for my first try with them. My only real concern is the length of the meal. It sounds like it can take upward of 2.5 hours.
Hey! Don’t worry - just responded to your other comment. I’ve changed my camera settings, but this won’t take effect for a few ships time yet. Apologies, and thanks for the feedback!

We are so jealous of your view from your balcony. To be so near the water and able to sit out is fantastic.

Looks like a Beautiful cruise ship
She's a beauty!
Thanks for your video ! :)
Brilliant vlog...that said I'd have been very worried at check in with no one else about lol 😂
Thanks, Derek! It was certainly reassuring to look up and see the ship, otherwise I’d have felt like I was at the wrong dock…!!
How exciting!
I want to do this. 😁
Not sure I’d have the stamina at my age, but I’ll enjoy traveling along vicariously with you.
Hey Regina, thanks for your comment! Glad you're here for the journey - we've got a LOT more to see together!

@@stephenm8818 I think if we give it time, they'll make their way to us - the UK cruise market is really strong at the moment!

As a kid in the 60’s (USA) this was my parents favorite line and we cruised the Flavia from 64 to 70

If you want to learn a language I’ve found that using Michel Thomas Italian course is brilliant
Thanks for the recommendation!

Ahh, I do want to try that ship, but have heard SUCH mixed reviews - have you tried it?

So there are something like ten people on the cruise with you?! I look forward to seeing more of the ship and how you get on. 😁❤
Don’t worry - due to the fact you can embark anywhere with Costa, the other 4,000 were already on…! I’ll show you the business in future episodes, ha!
@@FraserAtSea 4000 people... that's a lot of folk. 😮🤪💕
You didn’t tell us what you thought of the food! It looked intriguing!
Overall, I found the food on my Costa cruises to be pretty decent - not the most Instagram friendly, but tasted good!
Thanks for watching!!

Why did you have to change cabins?
Hey! I was offered the opportunity to upgrade once onboard, so I took it! 😊
Your video at 8:15 is BACKWARDS.
Hey! Don’t worry - just responded to your other comment. I’ve changed my camera settings, but this won’t take effect for a few ships time yet. Apologies, and thanks for the feedback!
A LOT OF your video is backwards. Please review it before you post it.
Hey! I’ve received this feedback but I’ve already recorded a number of ships - this will rectify, but not for some time on UA-cam - apologies!
@@FraserAtSea OK. I forgive you. It makes me think that you are copying someone else's video.
@@cruisecrazy7066 Don't worry - no copying - just dodgy camera settings, haha!
@@FraserAtSea Hahahahaaaa.
Just razzin' ya.
But the mirror image shots do look strange.
