      He has a few recipes that make 6 meals but you can split them into 5 for a bulking-type meal. I take his hidden veggie mac and cheese and split it into 5 meals which breaks down to about 700 calories and 73g of protein.

    Chili has always been a go-to bulking recipe for me! It's naturally high in calories, super nutrient dense, and easy to make in huge batches. You can just throw together a huge pot with like 15-20 minutes of total prep and have lunch for a week. It also helps that chili is really nice on a cold winter day, which just so happens to align with bulking season for many athletes.

    This is the best meal prep channel. it shows well balanced meals with carbs , protein and vegetables and it shows a variety of ways to meal prep . Other meal prep and bodybuilding channels are just all the same showing how to make broccoli, chicken and rice with some teriyaki sauce , or pasta with tomato sauce and hamburger like that stuff is boring and that is not a diet I'm going to realistically stick to . This channel brings new life to your meals.

    If you're looking for a chili recipe in the future that works very well with a larger amount of carbs, Cincinnati chili is a great option. It's basically a slightly thicker chili poured onto rice/spaghetti (any other pasta works). It has a bit of a strange flavor because you use chocolate as part of the seasoning, but you might wanna check it out.

    IT’s tasting pretty good.
    I added more more of potatoes/onions/ peppers/ and garlic though. Along with more of the seasoning portions you use. And using 80/20 ground beef (it’s all they had.)
    Im cooking the rice separately though since that’s what’s we’re used too. This is fairly simple and easy to make. (Cutting corners a bit though with using jiffy corn bread 🥹. Sorry but it’s late at night. Issa ready to relax)

    Great video Josh! What would you recommend for someone that is trying to lose weight while still building muscle (or at least maintain mass and strength)? I'm maintaining a caloric deficit of anywhere from 500-1000 calories a day and a lot of my calories come from protein. My workout routine is 15-30 minutes of intense cardio 5 days a week with lifting 4 days a week. Thank you for the videos, your meal preps have really helped me out!

      Don‘t Go hat Deep on the calories, Look for fitness youtubers on the platform

    • @Gongshown
      @Gongshown 2 роки тому +1

      500-1000 calorie deficit is way too much when you're trying to lose weight while building muscle. Stick around 100-300(at most) calorie deficit. It'll take longer to lose the extra fat you want to lose but it'll also stop you from burning out and fatigueing (and potentially causing injury). With that much of a calorie deficit you will not build muscle, you'll probably barely retain what you have if not actually lose some mass. Good luck, you can do it.
      Dont take my word for it, go look up what youtubers like Jeff Nippard say. Almost any youtuber I've come across has said those exact words. Don't go too low when cutting or too high when bulking. Going for extremes is always bad in the long run. And if you are finally at a weight where you're comfortable and wish to continue building muscle then go for a slight calorie surplus with like you said a lot (about 25-30%)of it coming from healthy proteins.

      Also, great anabolic chili tip is to use cottage cheese instead of sour cream & make a "protein" cornbread.
      If someone who likes to mix the cornbread into the chili like me, you might want to save yourself the time and energy and instead mix up a small amount of masa flour in water and add that. It will be less calories, less work, but it will provide the same texture as when you mix in the cornbread.

    So, hear me out. If I wanted to make this as a cutting calories meal instead of bulking, could I remove the potato and the rice along with the cornbread and get it down to, say, 600 calories? I only ask because I'm trying to lose weight and many of your recipes are helping me do just that.
