sanda do have knees and elbows but in some classes or in some competitions don't allow them but some do or only in proffesional sanda. got this from the nguyen guy who explains wushu taolu and sanda or it wasnt nguyen hope this helps

Knees are generally only allowed in professional competition (and even then there have been many pro comps without knees). Elbows have pretty much never been allowed. Sanda specialises in punch-kick-throw integration.
