Great to see sanshou getting more public exposure, especially when presented with such good clarity and excellent production value like this video. This is the real Kung Fu... Btw that red ornamental rashguard is so badass, certainly approved by the Mandate of Heaven.
I was to begin training Sanda this year and was super excited about it then, of course. Covid hit. But stuff like this just makes me so satisfied with the Art I've chosen to learn, Sanda is just so sick! Good stuff guys
Yes you are right you have chosen in my opinion one of the best martial arts on the planet stick at it mate you won't be disappointed u Will become a good fighter by learning sanda🙏
All my three kids do sanda did all these takedowns to they have also become British champ's it's a wonderful martial art that really works as this lovely instructor is demonstrating my kids were taught by sanshou UK by far one of the best in uk with another brilliant elite coach this guy is amazing thank you 🙏
Sanda is almost everything I want in an art. It incorporates what’s effective in eastern and western arts and then slowly evolves more over time. MMA gyms nowadays are just Muay Thai and BJJ gyms. It should’ve been gyms to hone what you already have and are a hub for battle testing whatever arts the participants there have.
Here locally we have two schools that are teaching Sanda.. one that teaches tai chi and kung fu as well ..and one that just teaches Sanda.. we're inundated with thai kickboxing class options here ... I am going to check out these two sanda Chinese kickboxing places soon.
I used to be part of a competition Sanda team in the 90's and 00's. I fought in many kinds of tournaments (Sanda, Sanshou, Lei Tai and etc...). Your skills and videos are pretty good. I still used my Sanda to sparring other adversaries, but i add some Karate, Wing Chun and Tong Long. For the ground i use BJJ. Congratulations
Always been a big cung le fan and a fan of sanda. I wish more mma fighters train in it. Guys like cung, zabit, and Weili are some of the most entertaining fighters I think
Really enjoyed watching a lot of Sanda demos, especially many of it's takedowns are based on many techniques from kung fu, especially Bajiquan @1:27 looks a bit like Baji's Kuada.
Foot drag against front and side kicks is my go to move to counter those Excellent breakdown by the way, also my Shifu hated us doing scissor sweeps, he always said how they re just flashy and only score one point coz you go down too, but damn they re fun
Excellent videos. Coming from an MMA perspective and having trained, trained with and fought numerous Sanda based Chinese fighters, I appreciate the detailed breakdown and hopefully a few MMA fighters learn how to catch kicks better. Becoming an expert in catching makes body kicks a non option for an opponent.
Nice tutorial. I've been trying to eat a raw carrot and apple everyday for my teeth and ears and more focused on staying focused and getting stronger myself lately as well. Might of taken some classes like that when I was younger myself if I can start remembering more and more, lol.
Really nice video but a couple of things to consider for sanda comp: 1. Sanda uses full covered gloves, making some of the grabs a little more difficult. 2. It is considered prohibited for any technique which forces an opponent to land on his or her head, or which deliberately smashes down the opponent.
Sanda matches have been happening in China for close to 50 years now. It’s not as popular or widespread as Muay Thai due to largely a marketing issue. Do they call it Sanda or do they call it Kung Fu, or Chinese Kickboxing? Etc.
Great video, 🙏I would like to see the Chinese names for techniques since I don't know a formal name for every one of these tuishuai. Please, if you could, put it with hanzi or pinyin at least, and it would be even better and helpful, thanks 😊🙏.
If you’re worried about being hit while wrestling for a takedown then it means you’re not fluid enough in your technique and not applying the correct timing and pressure. A well timed takedown will prevent any meaningful strike to be landed. An unsuccessful / forced takedown will drain your own energy and your opponent can punish you for it.
Now this is kung fu for the 21st century! You can't be a fake Kung Fu nerd with this style! You actually have to practice this and apply it and that's what makes shuai Jiao awesome! Ladies and gentlemen this is real kung fu! And the beautiful thing about shuai Jiao is you can practically apply any striking Style in conjunction with Chinese wrestling and when you do that you pretty much have formulated sanshou which is even more effective! Chinese wrestling and Chinese kickboxing are two beautifully effective modern Chinese martial arts! I simply love them both they are great!
@@DynastyMMA indeed my friend! Personally I was thinking of the internal styles of Tai Chi,hsing i and bagua! Especially because I believe those internal Styles will not only be beneficial for your health but let's face it when we are 60 and 70 years old we will not be doing Chinese wrestling and Chinese kickboxing? Powerful and accurate and precise Styles such as hsing i or Tai Chi will be great for self-defense for the older body.
There are hip throws! Although they are very similar to Judo throws so we decided to show more Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling) techniques which go more for the legs. Next time!
Most of these kick catches can be modified from front kicks as well. Especially the foot drag. But a front kick is faster so the reaction will have to be quicker 🙏😎

Same, I started with Jiu Jitsu this year, Covid came knocking a few weeks in.
And I started kickbox and 1 month later covid started

I’m gonna start sanda to cross train it with my judo base

Always wanted to learn Sanda, especially the Shui Jiao part of it! Thank you for this vid.
Glad it was helpful!
the best sanda takedowns video i've ever seen, thanks a lot !!!
I love how many of are in traditional kung fu styles. I went from Kung Fu to Muay Thai and wish I would have found a Sanda School. Such a great style.

Sanda is the sport fighting aspect of Sanshou/Sansoo Kung Fu
These are beautiful techniques, exactly what I needed to study and practice. Thank you for this
Love this video. Sansa takedowns/techniques usually don’t get this good of an explanation and even less exposure.
Thank you
Great video. Thank you for sharing! Also, good tunes; Elijah Nang was a classy choice for the montage. Do je saai!
Much appreciated!
I am 47 and train Sanda every week.
god bless

excellent instruction and documentation. thank you for sharing your art
You are very welcome
I'm a wrestler and doing MMA I'm always open for other techniques what I could implement in my style.
Where does the force come from to throw, the pulling from you're torso or the circular motion?
Amazing attention to detail thanks for this content
Thanks for watching!

@@DynastyMMA Holy shit, you have some nice stuff on there. Definitely going to get something in the near future.
Sanda is so exciting
coach in sanda we wear big gloves does these throws work in bigger gloves?
Of course mate, these throws are used in Sanda competitions all the time
This video earned my subscription. Keep up the good work, you are awesome.
Thank you! We will be making a lot more content! Stay tuned!

Yes, try and frame your opponent and grab onto the biggest body part of limb as best as you can 🙏
I think he knows all that already bro. Not only does he clearly practice he demonstrated that beautifully
Great video!
Good job! We should share this on Jiayoo Wushu!
🙏
Beautiful.
Good Content, well explained !
Glad you liked it!
👀Didn't know there were that many kinds of takedowns.....
😜
Fantastic stuff here.
Excellent
1:40 Cung Le Sanshou/ wushu Sanda .
Please keep these videos coming!
love it! make people regret kicking you. i’ve seen some people do these off ankle-picks in a MMA setting.
Very similar to Thai boxing. Some techniques look like they might need pressure testing?

I legit thought he tattoo his whole body with red ink, nice shirt by the way.
Anything before 0:10 : Fine to hear, decent volume
Anything after 0:10 : RIP headphone users...
The Chinese armor print rash guard worn in the demo reel is so cool! Where can I get one?

Can you give some pointers on mitigating stiff jabs to the face while doing these?

Awesome tutorial brothers
Would be cool if sanda was more well known, and more sanda takedowns available to watch
Wouldn't scissor kick not work since u touch the ground first?
High risk flashy technique that’s not really recommended but judges might like it 🤣👍

Is there suplex throw in sanda?
You can, if you can maneuver yourself to that position !
They're very effective, I tried them on my siblings
Awesome
Awesome video man! Where are you based?
Good
I like Santa and Sanda
It so awesome 🤩
Nice!
👍
what happens if in a Sanda fight, one fighter just uses his hands, he automatically nullifies most of Sanda takedowns?
Charlitos1988 how?
Its allowed punchs
Takedowns are allowed to be initiated without caught kicks. But there are a few throws that come from catching the arm, if you’re quick enough to catch a punch.
This worths gold
Scissors sweep basic in silat 🤙🏼
Sanda is wushu or kung fu?
actually wushu and kungfu are the same thing, kung fu is more like a slang word for wushu and all works that takes dedication. Cheers.
You guys should do a collab with kinetic motions and sigung francis fong
Nice outfit
10. A perfect anti-hooligan kick defense. Even if you drop him on his head there will be no manslaughter charges
Oof
