The weird thing about the Max drawing is that she looks like her 18 year old self with the bob cut but the Max that Chloe knows is the kid version with the ponytail so it's kind of just weird that Chloe envisions/sketched Max with a bob cut in her dreams.

I saw interesting comments in this video talking about how Max could have committed suicide after Chloe's death. I think it is possible, and I'll add another thing: that drawing of Max on the rope, shows a tree that actually exists in the game: when you stalk people with Rachel, if you go to the couple with the wine, you'll see a wheel on the ground; on that wheel that's exactly the drawing's tree, so Max could have committed suicide just there, after visiting the junkyard.

We never hear about Max in any of the other games if you sacrifice Chloe. It's either because she has no ties to any of the other characters in those games, or because she can't affect the others with powers, because she killed herself.

I think people are taking the meaning of the Easter Eggs the wrong way. If you actually think about the texts, Max is talking about meeting Chloe when she is dead. If you remember, Max meets Chloe again when she gets shot in the toilets by Nathan. The texts are a reference to the first ep of LIS. As for Max hanging on the tree, it could mean that Max is dead to her not necessarily that Max is literally dead

It's not a journal since Chloe is not that type of person that keeps a journal. It's stated that the stuff she writes on are letters in some sort of notebook.
Fun fact..in the comics, on other reality, max really died on that day and thats why she was able to get into that reality because theres no more max in that other reality.

the diary is used to express Chloe's thoughts in daily life...so maybe in her dream it expresses her fears. cause Chloe does mention in her diary that although she is pissed at max she would take her back in a heartbeat...so maybe the thought of Chloe dying is her fears or her dream state expressing her deepest feelings.
I took it as a symbol that max is dead to Chloe now. The butterfly is flying offscreen, leaving her behind, and the "MC 2019" I assumed refferred to "Max and Chloe." Chloe is in too much pain to wait for her anymore, and the dream sequence shows her shifting her attentions to Rachel.
I think, that MC means: Max + Chloe
And it is crossed, because Chloe believes, that she would matter to Max anymore.

I don't really believe Chloe is mad at Max, because of the fact that she left the city, as you suggested a couple of times (for example by saying that "Chloe t h i n k s that Max left her on purpose"). That's not the point. She must have some common sense (unless I'm missing some trivia, most likely from the first LiS if that's the case). I think the main point is that Max completely shut Chloe off. You can check their texts in Before the Storm - Max keeps saying she doesn't have time for messaging or calling if I recall correctly, then stops replying. I believe this is the thing that hurts Chloe the most. You can easily keep in touch, but her best friend just chose to ghost her.
Then again, I suppose it might be a matter of point of view and this is not really in any way connected to the easter egg nor the theories, which are a good call, actually. Never noticed the dream journal before.
Hence why i chose to let chloe live in LiS because i feel like max has an unofficial debt to chloe for being a dick

What if Max never left to Seattle? What if she committed suicide and the hatred and anger we see from Chloe towards Max is because she feels abandoned by Max and her dad.
when you play as Max during life is strange, it's actually her journey to the other side and her objective is to save Chloe, in more ways than one. kinda like you left Chloe behind now redeem yourself before crossing over.
Arcadia Bay didn't matter to save because it wasn't real in the first place, everything Max goes through for Chloe and having the power she has makes sense. When she goes back in time it's never about changing anything in her life it's Chloe, going back to save Chloe's dad, then change it like it was because Chloe had an accident instead it's all around Chloe.
Before moving on she was sent to stop Jefferson's crimes (making Rachel cross over) and to save Chloe.
Even tho Max is the protagonist it's not really about her, you can make some difference here and there but Max story is only around the present time or past. the story is around Chloe, Rachel and Jefferson (also Kate, Nathan and Frank) Max is just there altering paths and trying to fix mistakes and bad things. So my theory is that Max is a guardian angel, it's just my theory it would be cool tho Max was there to give Rachel and Chloe peace also herself so she can cross over and redeem her mistakes, she left her friend behind and she was sent to fix it before moving on.

Fernando Ramirez I just had this thought when I watched the video. It's just it's always surrounded of Chloe and you see Chloe's altered future so it just feels Max came to save Chloe. Even in before the storm in the journal its always Max and Chloe's talking like Max left sudden and she's angry and it seems like Chloe is grieving, she's in denial of her death so in her mind she left for Seattle
This does sound possible, but at the moment, I really don't think it's the case. You do have to remember that some of the only people Chloe had were her mom, dad, and Max. Her best friend leaving her, and never talking to her again would be like death, especially since she had just lost her dad. Plus, if you open up Chloe's phone in LIS:BtS, you see messages between Max and Chloe after Max left for Seattle. I really don't think it's true, but it's a good theory. nonetheless.
I have a theory: I've been seeing lots of theories talking about Rachel having powers and that she is the cause of the tornado due to her "powers" in the prequel.
My guess is, Rachel wanted Chloe in life and death so she created the tornado with her powers to kill Chloe so they can be together spiritually. I believe Rachel gave Max a choice, it wasn't mentioned in the game but I think Rachel wanted "Either I kill Chloe so we can be together then I'll save Arcadia Bay, OR I will make everyone suffer with this tornado if you choose to let Chloe live instead of being with me."
Those who chose to sacrifice Chloe, Rachel was the doe and Chloe was the blue butterfly, and they were together at last in death. For those who wanted Chloe to live, Rachel raged and destroyed Arcadia Bay for that reason and because of what she went through when she was alive.
So if you chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay, even though Max is a pretty determined character, I'm sure she would feel a lot of rough emotions of what she chose thus leading her to kill herself, and if she did, then Chloe would most likely kill herself as well since she'd be left alone thus again, leading her going to Rachel so that way Rachel wouldn't have to deal with Max rewinding the situation.
Y'know the real reason why in the beginning of Life Is Strange Max had a vision of the storm was probably Rachel giving her that vision letting her know "You have a few days to live, this is what's gonna happen, and in the future you'll see the choices I'll give you. I'll let you stay with Chloe in that time while your living. Better choose wisely" and with that Max woke up. She recieved rewind powers because when Chloe was about to die because of Nathan, Rachel (the butterfly in the bathroom) could have gave her that power so Chloe wouldn't die that way, instead dying in the tornado.
......and this is pretty much my theory of what happened.

Wow, that’s a very interesting yet dark theory. I have a theory as well that I’d like to share, my theory is is that I don’t think Rachel died. Sure, everyone saw her in the “dark room” aka Jefferson’s basement and it did seem like she died, but I think that after she was done modeling for him, she just left Arcadia Bay without even telling anyone. Maybe she got away with it and MAYBE, just maybe, it was actually Nathan who we saw buried in the ground in the junk yard in the first game. If you look closely at it, it looks a lot like his jacket and also I remember at the vortex club party Victoria was there and I think Max asked where Nathan was bc she couldn’t find him anywhere and Victoria said something along the lines of “the last time I saw him he went back stage with Mr.Jefferson and hasn’t come back ever since” after that we don’t see Nathan literally anywhere in the game, which proves my point.
Nathan was the one that Mark Jefferson buried in the ground, not Rachel. Therefore, I’m assuming that Rachel moved to Los Angeles or New York (not sure which one bc she always said she wanted to visit NYC but her and Chloe wanted to live in LA) anyways like I was saying, Rachel probably moved away without Chloe bc maybe she didn’t have much time left to bring Chloe with her so she just ditched her. Now the power part, yes I agree with that. When I saw that scene of Rachel screaming at the top of her lungs, there was this detail that the developers of the game put in. It was like a swoosh of wind (or air idk) and that detail looked very similar to the details that were in the storm in the first game. I feel as if the developers did that on purpose to show that maybe Rachel was the one that caused the storm.
I think Rachel *did* have a power, and yes I also agree that Rachel gave Max her rewind powers to save Chloe. Maybe the storm was a sign from her indicating that Rachel missed Chloe and that she wanted her to come with her. Again, that was just my theory. Sometimes I really wish it was real though because it does make quite a lot of sense, unlike the story behind Rachel’s “death”. Also sorry if that was too long haha I get really excited when I have a theory to share. But yeah like I said in the beginning, your theory is very interesting.

The reasons for he suicide can be isolation, unable to share her trauma of the dark room, the nightmare or the loss of chloe to anyone as that would make her sound crazy. All that would just make her kate marsh 2.0.

Max's haircut and clothes are all from future Max. That Jane Doe shirt is the one she wears when she reunites with Chloe, the one she's wearing when she watches Chloe die in LiS1. The fact that this and the text messages sent in different order (time reversing?) and Max saying she'd meet Chloe again when she's dead... ominous, to say the least. Past Chloe has no idea of what'll happen to her future yet. I wonder if William was influencing her dreams actively, giving those creepy signs (maybe he's pissed Max let him die lol)

My theory is maybe max wanted to kill herself after chloe sacrificied herself and wanted to do it on that tree but since it was burned so she couldnt. I would really want to know what this actually does mean.

The first picture you take in life is strange isn’t the butterfly picture, it’s the selfie you take at the start of the game, that’s when mr Jefferson asks you a question and Victoria answers it because you don’t know the answer.
That's such a sad pic of maxs body 😭❤
If all of that were true then yikes! That makes the Bay ending more sad, because not only you save the people and bring justice for Chloe and Rachel - But two of the game's main leads dies in this ending together.
I don't want to think Max commits suicide in this ending. We have to remember that she's only 18 years old and she has a whole life ahead of her to meet someone new to have a strong connection with like she had with Chloe. I think people are forgetting that in real life, sometimes childhood friends don't last long, high school friends don't last long, and heck even relationships and marriages don't last long either. I don't know why this fandom thinks Max only needs Chloe in her life...I get that she loves her a lot, but that's what it's only shown in the game and nothing else. We don't know if their relationship will last longer in the aftermath.
But both endings provide a lot of hope for Max and/or Chloe. Yes, there are a lot of journal written about Max's love for Chloe but you have to realize that it's normal for teenagers to show a lot of unconditional love for that person, but you may never know if it'll last longer or not, depending on how healthy the relationship is.

I think if I were Max, after Chloe’s sacrifice I would kill my self too. Think about the greif and guilt of letting Chloe dying thinking that both Rachel and Max abbandoned her. All the things they’ve been through never really existed. Seeing your lover getting killed over and over, being kidnapped and tortured by your professor, the trauma of that week, and you couldn’t even talk about it with someone BECAUSE IT NEVER HAPPEND. God, I would never be able to get over all of this. That’s why I think it’s a plausable theory, and that’s why i’ll always save Chloe, at least Max has someone by her side who knows what she’ve been through. This is not only about love or frienship, it’s about human feelings.

If you read the text messages, the time stamps are backwards, it actually says "When you're dead I'm going to see you real soon don't worry" and in Life is Strage, Chloe JUST died when Max seen her and she turns back time and saves her. So literally if she never got that power... she would have been straight up reunited after Chloe died.

The real was the tattoo because on LiS if you read a missing paper or Rachel you will see that on the description of her, there is write : star tattoo. So it’s was the "right" choice

If you pay attention, the messages are sent in the opposite way somehow, look at their time...
It starts from 11:55 to 11:57, what that actually means? I have no idea...

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but on the messages that max sent in the dream are in the wrong order cause if you look at the times some are different the way it should actually go is: Don't worry, when your dead, I'll be seeing you real soon. Which I think symbolises that max will find Chloe dead/ brink of death aka the first game (life is strange)

I don't like this easter egg...it's a bit mean-spirited. Like, I get Chloe was mad at Max for leaving and not keeping in contact -- But drawing her like this, isn't cool, even if it was in a dream. The whole "Max is dead to me" is too extreme, I know Max hurt Chloe but hating Max to the point of wanting her dead, not caring if she killed herself or if she died, wrecks their friendship and relationship for me. Makes me realize how angry she was at Max and how it bordered hatred.
It could be said she's scared of her dying, but why draw her that way? It'd make more sense to have a dream about Max and have her get run over by something if they wanted to convey her fear of losing Max like she did her dad. Or setting something up that gives Chloe the idea that she'd lose Max forever. (Like a character in a movie or book reminds her of Max and they hanged themselves)
Perhaps, it does have other meanings, maybe after Chloe's death, Max attempts suicide? Which connects to the texts, but I don't know...This Easter Egg is just a little too morbid, and seems unnecessary to me.

On the first easter egg considering the text msgs in game are sent in 2010 i dont think 1.26.09 is when max left since she left arcadia bay before chloes dad died. then again it cant be the date her dad died(?) cause they say that he died 2 years ago. The only depressing thing I could speculate that this grim easter egg gave us the context of what happened after Max sacrificed Chloe in the first game, assuming that's she smiled in the end of the first game ending. Means, she killed herself after Chloe died. This theory could be true and it broke me.

The date seems odd as nothing can be found at the date january 26 2009, not in chloe's texts, not in her diary and max left in 2008. Max and chloe had text exchanges long after that.
I did some research and if we check in chloe's texts the last contact with Max was 11/28/2009 Where max proposes to phone "this weekend"
Now, my theory has a small flaw, because 11/28/2009 was a saturday and "this weekend" should theoretically include the same day or the day after. I think that is an error and they intended max to mean "next weekend" as the next sunday was dec 6 2009, which could be accurate if we read the tree inscription as 12-6-09 instead of 1-26-09 Maybe it is an indication that Chloe takes that date as the end of hope for any further contact with Max as another promise was broken. All her texts after that go unanswered by Max, perhaps making her feel their friendship has died at dec 6 2009.
Alternatively, as there is a lot of "clutter" around the date, what seems to be a 1 could just be a scratch or crease in the bark and the 6 could actually just be a 0 messed up by other lines... in that case the date could simply be "2009"

I actually say at night i love rachel and chloe but chloe her life is so messed up her dad dies her best friend leaves at the worst time then she loses rachel for six months dies and comes back and then she finds out rachel died dies again by jefferson and then she might die depends on what the player picks it so messed up and makes me cry you know i played all the life is stranges but i used to hate this one bc of the start of the first ep was boring so i brung it back and i got it back played the whole game and now i cant stop playing it i used to be so crazy abt the first one and then i played this one and now it depresses me everyday seeing how so messed up your life can be.and u dont k ow how bad i wanted more episodes of this it was so good life is strange is the best and i cant wait for ep 3 lis2 may 9th 2019
