Thank you so much!! Ooww my that was one of those pieces that I had had in my stash for years but never cut into 😂🤣 I can't remember for teh life of me, it might have been California ... I'll try and see if it has a name on the salvage but I don't remember seeing one. LOL Ahh I am glad you like my ever so technical description of fabrics ❤🤣
I can't wait to watch more of your videos! I'm new to ITH, so I look forward to seeing you make a doll in the hoop. I'm dying to make some, but it's honestly quite scary. One day soon I will just dive in! Thanks again!
Oh I'm so pleased you like them!! You know each of the ith patterns comes with a step by step photo tutorial... it is so detailed you can't go wrong!! Just make sure you know how to use your machine and you'll fly through them!! Start with a quick kids pattern ... you'll laugh at how easy and fun they are ... and it will give you the confidence to make a dolly 💗😘✂️ But I do hope to get to some ith tips and tricks videos up lol 😘🥰✂️
Thank you so much! I will order some wool felt! I’m maki g a frozen version of the sister doll for some children this Christmas. Could you do a resizing clothes for 5x7 dolls vid please? It’s the largest hoop I have at the moment unfortunately!
Yes! I recommend wool felt not the craft felt or they will just disintegrate on you 😘✂️ also please remember not to use them on toys made for children under 3, instead hand embroider (I have a very easy video on how to do a satin stitch for eyes ❤) or use fabric paints/markers. Hope this helps!
Hello! I bought the school girl rag doll pattern the other day... Could you please tell me the names of the fabric colours you use for the dolls skin tones?
Hi Kateina, oh she's great fun, a real fan favorite and one if my first dollies I made for sale over 10 years ago 🥰✂️ i use Kona Cotton for skin - if you pop over to my Facebook group we have an up to date flesh tone color chart with their current names on it for you to choose from facebook.com/groups/DollsAndDaydreams/ Hope this helps and have fun stitching her up!
@@DollsAndDaydreams Thanks for the reply 😁 I will have to sign up to facebook first 😅. I was looking at the kona fabric online in the cream colour but I was not sure... have not made a doll before... but it should be fun!. The doll is 10 now?! Wow time flies!. Thanks for the help 😁
Thanks for this video, I've learnt something new today which I really needed to know, I've got a heap of your patterns but haven't made an yet because I didn't know which fabrics to use.
Hi Teresa!! Brilliant to hear! Well never fear there is a fabric list at the beginning of each pattern so do take a quick look and then jump in!! They are so much fun, you'll be a dolly sewing superstar in no time!
@@DollsAndDaydreams I do know about the list, but i was scare to use other fabric that i liked, plus being in Australia I can't always get the same ones. Thanks again.
I don't recommend flannel unless it's from an upcycled shirt as in a memory doll. The reason is on the bolt flannel is very low quality... looks cute, but all that loose weave means stuffing will work it's way though, seams split and edges fray.... and that's no fun 😬😭😭😭
Are your dolls in this video just the 100% size? That bull looks enormous! I have the pattern but don’t think I’ve printed it yet-didn’t realize it was soo big!! :)
Lol yes he is a big boy lol very huggable!! 💗😘 All of them shown here are at 100% so when you hit print on the PDF this is the size you'll get 💗😘✂️✂️✂️
@@DollsAndDaydreams Maybe that's how you like it? I showed it to my friend and she made a face... neither of us experience this haziness with other videos. My computer is the latest Apple model. Oh well.
Gina Bisaillon not fuzzy here either on my iPhone. Just very light. Sarah, maybe you could use a shadier room? Just a thought, although I personally think it’s fine xx
Wonderful video Sarah with so many great tips! Where did you find corduroy with 🍒 🍒?
Yummy & bobbly are my new words for the day! ❤

I've seen similar fabric in cotton with a blue or yellow background in Wal-Mart and Joann's.
@@karlaxioanarivera8243 brilliant to know! Thanks so much!
Thank you for this as a beginner doll maker!
My pleasure!
Thank you Sarah.. This is so wonderful and helpful for a newbie like me ... Can't wait to see the rest of your videos that you post..

Hi, thanks for this, would you say its ok to use felt for the clothes as well as the shoes?
Hello, I would like to ask you. Where do you purchase your doll materials from? Beautiful doll😊Thanks for sharing and thumbs up😊

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Sarah! I have a question is it ok to use felt for the eyes? It's because i'm just making normal simplified eyes so is it ok or not?

can i use flannel febric for soft toy.........please tell me

What are the best fabrics for a doll that will be given to a baby who will be chewing on it?
Wool felt
Fleece
I tend to lean towards fleece for younger children.... easier to wash, plus less expensive ✂️❤

why is the video so fuzzy? like seeing through a curtain... I don't have this problem with any other channel.
OOwww it's not fuzzy my end Gina, that's strange - could be the lighting I wonder - i am here in Sunny AZ and filming in my sun room :)
