So sweet of you to mention me ❤ i think we all have our own style of making and therefore teaching in dollmaking. And that makes it just so much fun ❤️ For me finding new techniques and developing new skills makes dollmaking an ongoing adventure ❤️
So true! each dollmaker has her own way of doing things, and then of teaching. I too love dollmaking with all my heart.
I started making my own handmade dolls a month ago because you inspired me. Thank you
That is awesome! I am so happy you are making dolls!
I too am so inspired by you and I started about 2 years ago making dolls, you are such a blessing and talented artist. Bless 💓😇
This is so helpful and generous of you. I am so grateful for the resources you’ve provided and I am excited to explore the possibilities! 😊
You are so welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey to make dolls.
I have experience making more detailed cloth dolls that are for keepsake purposes. Your dolls are beautiful. I have the book you were glancing through at the beginning of the video. I have tried my hand at making shoes & a couple of the outfits. Since I enjoy doing petit point, I find doing detailed work relaxing. I'm interested in going forward & doing more intricate type dolls. Thank you for the cautions as well as the inspiration.
Please do! I think you will derive much joy and excitement from diving more deeply into doll making. Best of luck to you on your journey 🙏

I usually put a lot of informations with links on the description of my videos. I do have a shop but I normally don't sell my dolls via the shop. I sell them via my blog. If you want to know more how I go about selling my work, some rough idea on pricing and styles, you are very welcome to visit this page: www.figandme.com/faq
Thank you for loving my dolls!
Me encantan ,porfavor en castellano.
Desafortunadamente no tengo tiempo de editar los videos de nuevo para agregar subtitulos. Pero los videos que tienen "voz" pueden ser traducidos automaticamente a traves de los subtitulos de UA-cam.

Hello mi name Is Fátima y am from México y whant to do dolls like you can you help mi to do a doll . thank you
Hola Sofia.
❤️
🤗
What kind of material. Where to get the pattern?
Links to materials and my pattern store are in the video description. I quote many other dollmakers who sell their patterns, you can search them on Google.
Why does she put fabric over top of such nice felting
because that's how she makes the dolls.
@@Figandme pretty sure there is a reason for it.
@@Figandme who are you anyways? her social media expert? =D
@@devotae well the reason is that these dolls are made. You can watch many tutorials here that show you that I cover the dolls head with skin tone. It would look weird to have a body in skin fabric and the head not covered...
@@devotae No, I do not have a social media expert. I am the person who makes the dolls. I thought it was funny you asked "why she"...instead of "why do you"...so I decided to reply as in "because she"...hehehe...just giggling away at the confusion that's all. I am one person doing all the work here: the dolls, the videos, the photos, the editing, the clothes...just me.
I am struggle to get the correct fabric. From south africa
I can only order this online myself in Canada. The link to the post with all the materials I use and recommended online suppliers is this one: www.figandme.com/blog/doll-making-materials-for-natural-fiber-art-dolls
There are quite a few suppliers in Europe who should be able to ship to you as well as in Australia.
How we can make
You can buy a doll pattern or take a class. For my patterns you can look here: figandme.etsy.com
I would love to make a doll. But I am vegan and I do not believe in using products derived from animals. I wonder what I could use instead?
Assuming you want to use materials derived from natural sources, because otherwise you could use everything synthetic, there are yarns made of cotton, linen, bamboo (not very good results for hair though...) as well as stuffing made from plants: cotton, kapok, corn fiber and others. I have zero experience using any of those so I can't tell you how they will behave trying to use them for dolls, if they could be sculpted, etc. Best of luck as you research, experiment widely and find the best materials for your doll making journey.
♥️
Thank you.
