U have theBetaFpv lite radio 2 _ the guy I bought it from came with a betafpv lite. #1 tiny hawk the 1st one by emaxx& I've tried the was that you don't have it get. Onto betaflight
@@raydesheles9205 I wonder in what way the binding process is failing? Are you following a manual or process for the quad and another for the radio? And what is that process? button presses? Lights? battery plugin? Usb plugin?
@@NickBurnsFPV hey I have been trying to get my sub atomic going but for some reason something goes wrong. Everything was working until i put A receiver in it and not i dont get the motors to beep. Is the a drone similar to it that is already built cause I have gone threw 2 FC trying to get it to work.
Hey Nick! Have you heard anything about GnarlyFPV going out of business?? 🧐
Looks like their domain redirects to a weird German ad/search site. 😂
@@willpowerfpv3246 Yes. I believe he stopped designing and selling about 2020. Tomoquads about the same.
And I LOVE this thing, I gotta have one! No joke, 3 or 4 years ago I would sit around and dream of quads like this, and whoops with digital HD video! What a time to be alive, and to be in this hobby; how lucky are we...?!
yea, top mount with a 16x16 stack and a camera in that tight package. Gnarlyfpv did have the guppy similar design, but there were issues with getting a camera in and camera angle. :(
@@NickBurnsFPV A couple years ago GnarlyFPV used to sell this tiny little frame on their replacement frames page, it was like a whoop-sized frame, but for the life of me I can't remember the name, or find a pic of it. Basically the bottom plate of the Sub Atomic. It used a 16x16 stack mounted diagonally, and one of the NewBeeDrone camera mounts like Kabab's Toothpicks, and whoop props. I kept wanting to order one, but never did, and then it disappeared. I'm glad this new one is out, it's an improvement on that design, I didn't like the camera mount; this one is so much better.
Also that sealed printed parts pack actually has TWO of the antenna mount pieces that go on the front under the camera, allowing for more different antenna configurations...
That's the perfect size
😎👍
I absolutely love my Sub Atomic! Definitely looking forward to the new Insta360 release!
Here in the comments, they may have been a leak indicating the new version is 30grams. I hope not, we will find out soon.
for me, the Tinyhwak Freestyle 2 with the TinysLED Sled to hold the TBS tracer receiver and the TBS unify Nanno pro is the pinnacle of small drones. It's such a good drone you get so much fly time, agility, and crash ability out of the tinyhawk fs2. Throw a Insta360 and you almost won't Notice that it's there. after a few packs!
Thanks for the shout out man I really appreciate it I just finished one up for someone that saw your video thanks again!!!
Water skeeters. 😆 nice little drone.
Gerridae.... Also known as the 'water skimmer/skipper/skeeter/skater/strider/spider', the ponds behind my house were full of them when I was a kid, loved them! Love this li'l skimmer as well, it's like a tiny little 'Tadpole' from Armattan, my favorite quad of the last six months..!
I was thinking water strider, but as crowdsourcing goes we did get it down to Gerridae. Now the real question, did you know Gerridae or did you look it up? Either way, thanks for helping find the name.
@@NickBurnsFPV Believe it or not, I knew it..! Waaay back in the 80's I was the weird kid with a net and a jar who spent all day out in the fields catching every six-legged creepy crawly I could, then went to the library and looked them up, made little labels, etc... Then in my early teens I realized entomologists covered in bug bites didn't get quite as many girls as lead guitarists with long hair, and well, life took a left turn... No regrets tho, I've had fun (probably more than my share), I ran a recording studio, did some tours, and later became a guitar builder; but sometimes I think back wistfully to those days out in the fields, and wonder what might have been... C'est la vie, eh?
@@jackmaddox4960 Impressive retention of that knowledge. Did your school have that "science" project of collecting insects, pinning them to a cork board and labeling them?
@@NickBurnsFPV No, but I was doing that on my own by age 10, then a science teacher in Jr. High, Mr. Gonzales, let me use his lab after school, and helped me out, basically for extra credit. He also helped me start our school's first model rocket club, the Pinewood Derby Club, and even the (admittedly small) 'Folded Folio Forum', or paper airplane club! I always loved them, as did he, so we'd meet with a few other students and exchange designs & ideas, make a bunch, then launch them out the 2nd floor lab window into the main courtyard to see how far they'd go. He was a great teacher, the last really dedicated teacher I had, honestly. Not too many like that anymore, sadly... Apologies for the long trip down memory lane, not really the forum for it here... :-)
I love doing small builds, the challenge of keeping everything neat and tidy. They are soo much quitter when you fly them.
They are a fun puzzle for sure. And so discrete, really a fly any where sort of quad.
This looks amazing.. When I saw there was a chance to win one, I jumped up off the sofa and ran to the computer to submit my entry! What a great little kit.
Well I am glad your excited, but please don't strain anything :)
Well, I couldn't resist, just pre-ordered one. I don't think Ive been this excited about a 65mm quad!
lol. I think it pretty fun.
Awesome looking little quad, Nick! Really nice! 😃
Fantastic flying and review!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I’m a 5” guy but I LOVE MICROS! I fly EVERY day because of micros and my IMO I fly better for it. Another great video brother👍🏽
Thats a super nice frame, that seems to fly really well 👌
That motor size notably the betafpv 1102 - 13500kv, are so versatile. Ive bought more than 6 sets and made varying builds with them over the past year.
What kind of builds you have with them?
@@NickBurnsFPV ultra light 1s 2.5inch toothpick, a 1080p hd 75mm 2s whoop, and my igow 2s 75mm whoop. So far, maybe one of those open prop 40mm propeller builds next.
Lol, now I know why I can’t find any. Have fun!
Hi bro this thing is awesome tiny, thanks for sharing
I like what you did with the antenna tube on the front! I might have to steal that idea~~
that was all gnarly
@@NickBurnsFPV Hehe cool. I only considered that a mount for a Minimortal-T antenna. I’ll be trying that method with my XM+.
My best Quad is from Conner! Total worth every penny for that mini!
I do enjoy your revues Nick
Thank you
Ayyy! insane 3 minute Insta360 go flight time!

@@ivanluhi Yes! Very soon.
@@gnarlyfpv2285 oh great!
Water skippers, or striders!
Yeah water skippers!
In the UK I know them as "pond skaters". But the correct insect name is "Gerridae" (I had to look it up TBH).
Awesome little quad. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the great video. I would love that little bugger. I starting to build my own small quads to better understand setups and tweaking. That way I can build exactly what I want.
Nice little build! Would like one for myself.
This little thing looks epic just preordered mine
Nice little frame. Finding myself more attracted to these smaller quads lately! Just destroyed my tinyhawk 2 freestyle board. Only to realize afterwards how proprietary emax products are. This looks like a nice alternative.
yea, emax has like to use their own parts, but I do see they might be changing their ways. The nanohawk used a standard sized board. A move in the right direction.
I just blew the fets on my second th2 freestyle board...decided to replace it with a geprc phantom. But I'm definitely going to build one of these too!
this little guy is sitting on my shelf with the aio right next to it waiting to be built. i hear rumor this will do 110x motors, may try it out. i already flew the GnarlyFPV Guppy V3 until too many trees grounded the little guy. nice vid.
Yes, we have 1102 on this iteration.
@@NickBurnsFPV Here I am ripping the Guppy (Subatomic precursor) pretty hard into the punchouts on 0802 Xing motors and 40mm Gemfans: ua-cam.com/video/PvT1Qkj-7TA/v-deo.html. You should feel free to huck it over your house, sir :) - I was perhaps a tiny bit disappointed you did not in your video! :) I enjoy your vids, thank you.
I built from the ground up a tomoquads corsa with 1103 2s and it's my favorite bomber
Oh hell yeah. That's cute and cool at the same time
This one looks great - small and nimble
Nice frame great review I would love to build one of these.
LoL its called a water strider brother... I got you 👍👍 little thing looks cool
ah there we go. Thank you
Great little picket beast
Probably a nice frame upgrade for mine turbobee77r!!
Nice to flight this one around my house!!!
Thanks for the shout out! If anyone is looking for any kinda build feel free to hit me up on here or on facebook =]
I may need to get me one of these frames lol
We call them water striders here in California.
That is so cool I want one lol thanks for sharing Nick
Looks good kinda reminds me of the micro heli frame
Holy crap that thing is tiny and so fast! Size can be deceiving😂
Looks like the gnarly whoop
I love these tiny quads!
Hey Nick - water sliders are what I think you are referring to. Maybe it's an air slider?
I just got the fc and the frame. I’m waiting on the motors to come back in stock. Looks like so much fun!
The wait is the worst.
@@NickBurnsFPV but it’s worth the wait!!!
Looks like a good pal for the Happymodel Mantis 85 :D
good looking frame! ...but I think props are too small for that weight.
btw, new insta360go 2 will be cost 300$, unfortunately :/
Tough sell. 42-45g will get you a 65mm prop toothpick on 1102 or 1103. Even 48mm tri-blade props would be a big difference. Too small a prop area for outdoors :-/
This is awesome! I'm surprised how smooth the instac was.
I was lucky enough to get one couple weeks ago had to use 11500 kv motors that where a little heavier than what they recommend but I can get 3:30 if I'm really flying or more just cruising. Its an excellent kit comes with everything. The jhemcu aio I used didn't come with gummies but the kit included them. Good stuff
Good info there. Thank you
As sophisticated men we called em water skeeters
I hope the new insta 360 are under 200,And i hope they figured out how to manage the heat, the original wasn't meant for fpv, but figured since we keep em cooler by flying . It looks a lot like the mantis 85.
I've been flying Tomoquads Baby Evo 2 for quite some time. Similar setup, 40mm props and 1102 14000kv GepRc motors. It's a great fun setup for yard and park flying. I've found that the old style HQ 4 blade props fly best with good smooth power and lower amp draw. But, they are very fragile.
yea, I can't seem to keep HQ props running on this one. :)
This would be really sweet to mount the motors on the bottom and flip everything upsidedown and run 3 inch props.
That is a unique idea, I wonder if can get enough camera uptilt we do have that void to help us. 3inch props won't work but maybe 2.5
Oh man, I really, really, really want one of these frames. I wish they had some in stock! Maybe I might win a frame from you Nick! Thanks for the review, this thing looks awesome! It looks like a nano Armattan quad.
Yea, I think the stock will be based on web traffic to the site or pre-orders.
@@NickBurnsFPV Funny thing, the day I received the email from GnarlyFPV announcing it, I wrote a review.....but I made it clear in the "review" that I don't have one. I was just too excited about it, I had to make a comment on it. LOL
@@housinit Sorry about the stock situation Luis! We've had all past 3 batches sell out within 2 hours each. The next batch will be ready in about 2 weeks. We started a small preorder window on this batch due to the amount of requests for one. The window for preorders is small so stock will still be available outside of those orders when the kits are ready. Thank you for the interest! and the comment! :D

@@gnarlyfpv2285 Thanks for reaching out! Love you guys over there at GnarlyFPV. I just preordered one about a half hour ago. Can't wait! Thanks for the info!
@@housinit The design isn't something I have seen much have, no props in view and top mount battery. Seems like simple things but in a quad this size isn't normal.
This is a nice cine weapon in combo with go 2.
I haven't used it with the go 2 yet. Unfortunately the go 2 is heavier than the original. not sure how it would impact the flight.
@@NickBurnsFPV this seems as a strong machine. I guess it will have no problems carrying it, even eith 10 grams more (doubt the new cam is that much heavier?).
@@vladimircerovic I don't have one yet, but I do think its about 10grams more than the original. :(
Nice video👍🏼👍🏼. 90% of my builds are Gnarlyfpv frames. They make some high quality kits with a lot of focus on the little details.
This is cool!
I built a 85mm ,2-6s fc, 1104 4500kv!

This tiny drone looks similar to the martus 85 From happy model!!!!!
It does, boy the mantis is a few years old now.
sweet little frame, its so tiny.
Water skipper?
Gnarly frames rock.
Love it. Too bad importing stuff from the US to EU is so expensive.
Reminds me of the tadpole frame and the iflight turbo bee that I've been working on for a year now lol!
yes, it does. I think there is something to the arm design that makes it fly well.
@@NickBurnsFPV agreed! They are a great design for flight characteristics, durability, and they look cool! If we stretched it out a bit more could maybe make a 2s mid range cruiser with the right gear! That would be really cool! Maybe a thinner top plate for weight saving! But this for factor and size I think is fun to fly, more places to fly them, risk of injury and damage is minimal like you said so it's more fun and more relaxing to buzz around with!
@@NickBurnsFPV another great video as usual! Thank you! When I get my act together I'll join your patron! Been a long time subscriber and really appreciate your honest reviews and flight videos! Sharkbyte with aomway commander v1 goggles? Worth it. Not a fan of the dji setup but sharkbyte is intriguing me!
@@jbizzbuildsmanstuff9932 Yea, I don't think the v1 commanders will show the SharkByte video all that well. I can't recommend a Shark Byte purchase if paired with those goggles. I could be wrong as my commander use is very dated.
@@NickBurnsFPV I'm more concerned with video link vs picture quality. I will get a better pair eventually just hate how bulky dji setup is! Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a set but it's alot of weight to add to a quad. I think if they sold a video only version of the TX ware if you don't use the dji controller (I'm a crossfire guy) it would need less electronics there for make it smaller for whoops and that sort of thing but I could be wrong with this! Sharkbyte is like adding a turtle V2 or a split. No biggy. Thanks for the reply!
So who's the lucky winner? Thanks for the flight
Luis E. I posted the winner on the Community page.
Yeeess been waiting for your review for a bit now
How about a review on the Newbeedrone mosquito? All these itty bitty quads look so much fun!
Its coming, should be this week.
Cool frame/build! I checked out the shop 90% of the stuff is sold out.
That does happen with small designers. They keep pretty low stock. If you want one, likely have to pre-order.
@@NickBurnsFPV I'm to impulsive for preorder lol. But very cool frames. I like different style frames that fly well
I see your channel as the San Antonio Spurs small market but championship quality 👌👏 you are the reason I just do micro now thx keep the great work you are appreciated thx and start that discord
I do really need to do a discord. My number 1 concern is it would turn into the wild west.
Yeah I get it can't wait to see your mosquito review from NewBeeDrone curious to see what electronics you use I used my hummingbird brushless flies great but only 1 30 flight time that's the let down
@@anthonycadejr3995 Which batteries are you running? I find the NBD Nitro Nectar gold are the best 300mah batteries out there, even better than 350mahs
I call dibs on the sub! Even pay shipping! ;)
I’m a fan of gnarlyfpv frames. I have too many of the 2.5” primos. They are robust and last. I need more of the 3” and now this size too.
I agree! the only negative of GnarlyFPV is that they never restock!
Great review my friend🙂👊👍
Nice company for my armattan tadpole
Have you tried flashing JESC on ESC controllers? Fly times should be better on it
I have used JESC and BlueJay, as well as JazzMaverick. At this time my preference is bluejay. Changing the khz does help with flight time on micros, it also changes the low throttle response. Outside I find 48khz works well, inside I find the higher khz has a negative impact on my flying, makes turns at speed more challenging, as the props slow down slower.
I believe you are referring to a pond skater.
maybe, I am not familiar with that name, but sounds plausible.
Water Strider / Pond Skater :)
What he said lol☝️
this THIS is what ive been waiting for oh yeah thats a defo buy looks fun
Now I want an X8 of this size! for science :)
Too bad X8 AIO aren't a thing (yet)

small independent designers have to keep stock low. I am not surprised its pre-order, likely already sold his initial stock of 20 or so.
Hey nick, I think the new insta360 go is much heavier. I think I heard 30g somewhere but don’t quote me on that

Hey Nick, when are you going to fly a Xclass? Just for the contrast 👍
lol, no plans on exploring that. I haven't flown a 5inch in years. :)
@@NickBurnsFPV Micros FTW! What about a sub250g xclass? I'm so tempted to build one!
@@xarisrig7561 That would have to be made from spider web :)
I do not accept that the Sub Atomic couldn't handle the full house punch out!! Perhaps this needs to be built as a 3s instead of a 2s? I know that little Jhemcu 16x16 aio is pretty reliable so far, even on 3s!
We could try a 10000kv and 3s 300mah.
@@NickBurnsFPV Ooh, I definitely support this idea!
Water striders
Water skippers.... don't think they are spiders. They only have 4 legs. Used to see them growing up also, great story.
what type of connector does the battery have? I've never seen a connector like this before.
That is fairly new. About 3-4months ago it launched. Its called the GNB27, made by GNB.
Put a drop of soap in the water by the bugs, knock the water tension away, and they will stop defying gravity! Lol
lol, that's a dirty trick. I wonder what they do then?
Outstanding! Finally a true, real, micro quad!! I just built one very similar to this. I love these tiny little rippers!!! Mine is essentially a Spedix Rex, 1103 11,000kv motors, 20amp stack, more powerful VTX than the stock one, and Crossfire! ... to make it virtually failsafe proof! Too bad it's so damn rainy up here in Oregon, but a nice spell is coming first of the week. Last nice spell got up to 61 degrees!
Anyway, glad to see there are still co0ol little rippers coming out instead of the slow, boring long range and cinewho0p barges. Thanks Nick, nicely done, Bro! =(:^)-
I likely said it in the video, but with these super small ones, in the back of my mind I know it won't have the pure performance we can often be searching for, so just fly around and have fun. Not trying to go fast or hit a super big move, all small moves. :)
PS...Every time you fly your yard I think you're gonna go between those perfect "V's" in the two trees at the very back left hand corner/side of your yard. I'd love it if you'd start incorporating those into your flights around your yard. It would add another dimension to your test flights, those and some other great gaps in between the multiple trees you have. A lot of us don't have those to take advantage of! Thanks again! ;)
@@NickBurnsFPV Sure, I feel the same way! They're so darn fun it doesn't mater if there are many other quads that go much faster, or do tricks better, these are so tiny and quiet, you can fly them anywhere...and hit very small gaps...that's a lot of the appeal!!
I look at them like a who0p, but without the ducts, so maybe we should call them a nakEd who0p rippEr ! LOL
@@noforyoutubepremium3108 I will investigate those gap!
@@noforyoutubepremium3108 naked whoop is a really good name. I was out over lunch working on power looping the pergola, margin for error is small enough I got hung up in the trees twice. Luckily the contractor ladders where still on patio :)

!!!!!water skeet!!!!!
Seems it can handle the extra weight no problem. Have you tried a 450mah 2s?
I haven't tried a 450, its a bit long for the little frame, hangs over both ends.
I have been running 2s 800mah 50c on mine with the Insta360 Go and have been getting 6+ min flight times. Barely notice the extra weight with the 1202.5 motors.
