      Hi. Thanks for your appreciation for my video on Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlight.
      I've got couple of answers for you.
      *1.* Yes! There is more than enough space within the dust cover so that you don't need to modify or cut it.
      *2.* I don't have sample with ppl using Versys 650, but I can tell you only one thing - the headlight setup of Versys 650 is identical to that of Ninja 300. So, FYI, it fits Versys 650 straightway.
      But I'd recommend Phillips Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED Headlights for your Versys 650, I've upgraded from Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlights to Phillips Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED Headlights. The link of that is given below 👇

    Hi , Thanks for Demo. Can u plz tell about Battery consumption details between stock halogen light vs this LED?

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому +1

      I think I've discussed this too in this video. Don't worry. I'll tell again.
      Stock Halogen consumes 55watt while this LED consumes only 14watts, but light output is same if not better. so, keeping the headlights on will drain your battery (halogen), but with LED, you don't need to worry about that. Stuck in a red signal for 3 mins, no need to turn the key off and on. Just kill the ignition and stand cool with one light always on. Bcz 14watt consumption is even lesser than the brake light that eats 21watt, nearly similar to single indicator, that consumes 10 watt. So, overall, the longevity of the battery will be enhanced. Hence for bike with no kickstart, this will be a great method to extend the battery life

    • @ArkaRoy

      Nighteye is good alternative for the stock bulb. You can go for that.
      Select socket type as *H7*
      It shouldn't burn the Headlight cover, bcz there is air vent inside the reflector, through which the moisture gets evaporated.

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  5 років тому +7

      Hi bro. Nice to have a query like this. 1st of all I need to tell the fact that yes LED lights tend to heat, but not as much as halogen lamp. Now Ninja gets 55watt halogen lamp which was AHO mode from the beginning. But this LED consumes only 14watt, almost ¼th of the halogen. So, if the heat generated by the halogen can't harm the reflector, then be assure that this 14watt LED won't ever harm the reflector even in one century also. Besides there is one small heat dissipation passage in all headlight reflectors. So, whatever heat will be generate, it will be passed on to the outer environment...

    Nissan Terrano - Headlights.
    Which is the best to use -
    OSRAM - PHILIPS - Night EYE.
    I want to set up the new lights because of No visibility at the night on current bulbs.
    Suggest I am right or wrong.
    Fog Light - H8 - LED - OSRAM - want to use.
    Dipper Light - H11 - HID - OSRAM - want to use.
    Upper Light - H1 -LED - OSRAM - want to use.
    Or should I go for Philips or Night Eye?

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  3 роки тому

      Osram is no doubt one of the very good lights to have.
      But don't go for Night Eye when u have the budget for Phillips.
      Night Eye consumes unnecessary high watts and it scatters a lot. So, overall, road visibility will be limited, although from opposite direction, the Night Eye led looks brighter, because it scatters a lot😀
      So, IMO, Osram is a very good led and it has good life.
      Now, Philips will win in three aspects:
      1. Less Watt Consumption
      2. Perfect Light Spread
      3. No Dazzle Beam
      So, I'll tell u it's advantages:
      1. Less Watt Consumption menas less stress on battery and hence long life of battery means electrical system in ur car will be perfect for longer period of time.
      2. It's light spread is absolutely perfect. It illuminates the road in front of u. It scatters the least if not none.
      3. It uses a technology known as “SafeBeam”.
      It ensures drivers coming from opposite direction, to see the road clearly, ur headlight won't make them blind.
      Now, if u consider buying Philips, then I'll recommend u to go for Philips Xtreme Ultinon, instead of Philips Ultinon. Because Xtreme Ultinon is the next model and more suitable for larger reflectors like that of car. Hence, first prefer the Philips Xtreme Ultinon LED, if not found, then Philips Ultinon LED. Again if not found, then OSRAM is perfect. If u r not satisfied with OSRAM or want to try something new, then go for Night Eye.

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  3 роки тому +1

      Brother it generates lesser heat than stock halogen. Stock halogen light emits at 55watt, besides, it's filament is heated and then the light comes. But in LED, this is not the concept. It consumes only 14watt current, this heat is very very nominal. It will no way damage the reflector..... U can use it for long ride or drive. If the light is turned on for longer time there is nothing harmful..... Go ahead & use it 👍

      Installation of this led won't void warranty of your bike bcz it is plug n Play type led. The same setup is here in the led as compared to your stock halogen. So, warranty won't void anyway.
      You've to fit it from outside. Bcz it's damn easy, remove the dustcaps & open the stock bulb, install this led and close the dustcaps. That's it. For this, the service centre will charge you a hephty amount. Better to get it fitted from outside.

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому

      Hi. Thanks for writing. The screw is attached in the back side of the reflector. It is used to fix the spring just behind the bulb base. The spring pushes forward the bulb from backside and the Screw keeps the spring intact in its place so that it doesn't move here and there for the vibration of the motorcycle. So, once you remove the complete headlight setup and place it on your lap, you'll see the dust cap 1st. After removing the dust cap, you'll need to detach the H7 connector from the bulb. After that, you need to remove the screw to separate the spring from the bulb base,. After removing the spring, you can pull back your bulb from the reflector. That's it. Do u get it now or need more clarification?

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому +1

      Hi. Nice to get a long query. It's always splendid to reply. Anyway, I've used Phillips Ultinon H7 LED, now upgraded to Phillips X-treme Ultinon H7 LED.
      You can see the difference in light output by watching the video by going to the link below:
      ua-cam.com/video/6QTU8W4jVwU/v-deo.html
      T10 LEDs in 6000K are always better to read instrument console. Because it gives almost similar light to daylight or modern day tubelight. In other hand, 4000K is yellowish, the reading won't be as attractive & bright as 6000K. So, if you're planning to replace your existing T10 filament type bulbs, then always prefer T10 LED type bulbs with colour temperature of 6000K. Yes, Phillips Ultinon T10 LED lights would be very good for visibility of the instrument console...

Other LEDs may be brighter, but they utilise the reflector unevenly, and thus create a scattered light spread, which makes the oncoming traffic blind. So, better to go with this. Otherwise, you can search in AliExpress, there you'll get lots of powerful LED lights with more wattage consumption along with more lumen output. But, use them at your own risk brother.

    I am planning to install it in my Activa 3G. Is it a good lighting upgrade?

      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому

      Essential is different and this model is different. Essential has fin type cooling system in the back. So, it may create problem while fitting the dust cap. So, it is recommended to use Ultinon model as it does not have anything extra in the back. So, it will create no prob while installing Dust Cap.
      Better to check the Essential in offline store.

      @@siddhesh2888 I've installed Xtreme Ultinon model too. But i doubt if it is available in H4 base or not. Bcz the X-treme Ultinon has the most powerful light in this range and it's visibility is Xtremely good. It's name justifies it price and quality. In Ultinon model too, the visibility is very good. But I've no idea about Essential. So, if u have to fit it in Activa, go for Ultinon one. It will consume less battery, only 14 watts, but light output is more than stock halogen bulb. It doens't blind the oncoming traffic. So, it is not disturbing when using high beam in city traffic or highway. So, 1st preference, Xtreme Ultinon, if it is not available in H4 Base, then go for Ultinon model.

    Hi, Arka, nice videos. I have a question here, I asked Phillips customer service, they say the bottom part is a fan, and if you detach the fan and just install the bulb, it may cause overheating. I'd like to ask if there is any issue with yours so far? Is everything still working alright? And is there any way that we can still attach the fan to the bulb after installing and securing the bulb in the headlight compartment, so that we still utilize the fan. I know the fan may require power to run, since I see there is a power cord attached to the base. Thank you

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому

      Hi Lee. Hope you are doing well and keeping yourself safe from Corona virus.
      Thanks for your appreciation and inquiry.
      *Answer 1:* You said that Phillips Customer Care Executive had told you that the bottom part consists of fan! Right? The bottom part doens't consist of fan and if you detach it, the LED won't work bcz the connector pins are fitted on the bottom part only. So, there is no option you can use this light without bottom unit. In Phillips Xtreme Ultinon model, they have fan unit and lighting unit, but in Phillips Ultinon model, they have lighting unit only. No fan unit.
      *Answer 2:* my light is working perfectly. I've upgraded from Phillips Ultinon to Phillips. Xtreme Ultinon. There is no overheating issue or any other issue till now.
      *Answer 3:* You can very much use the LED with fan installed. There will be no problem inside headlight compartment. You just have a look at my video made on Phillips Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED Headlights. Carefully watch the installation process, you'll get to know how the fan unit is placed inside the dustcap and after installing the fan unit, how it is looking. The link is given below 👇
      ua-cam.com/video/6QTU8W4jVwU/v-deo.html
      *Answer 4:* the fan requires very little amount of power and the total consumption wattage is including the power of the fan. So, rest assured that this fan alone can't damage your battery. So, keep aside all worries and tension, and go for Phillips Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED Headlights. If budget is constrained, then prefer Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlights.
      Let me know your thoughts in this.

      @@ArkaRoy Thank you very much for the detailed reply, and thank you for your concern, I am currently not in China now, but the virus is pretty severe. Luckily it’s getting better in China, but got worse in other countries. You too stay safe.
      Yes, the customer service told me that the base on the ultinon model is a fan. Actually I asked a retailer on Taobao, if you heard of this Chinese shopping website, lol, they sell everything there. So I’m not sure if the agent there actually knows their products well or what, at least this is what they told me.
      If we have to use the base in order to use the led lights, is it right to say that after putting the bulb in the headlight and securing it with the clip pin, we still need to attach the base and connect it to a power source from the bike? As I see in your first video at 4:50 after you detach the base, and at 5:37 after putting the bulb in the headlight, I don’t see you attaching the base to the bulb again, and this is what I see other youtubers do as well. That’s why I thought the base may not be needed.
      However, I see in your second video when you install the extreme model, you need to do more work such as detach the fender on the side in order to connect the cable on the base to the bike. Does it require the same process to install the ultinon model as well?
      Thank you Arka, have a great day.

    • @leeyang4798

      @@ArkaRoy Oh, I might have understood, there should be an power cord connecting to the old bulb from the bike right? I'm confused because I don't have a bike yet, I am purchasing a used Ninja 300 today, I was watching led headlight videos already, lol.

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому +1

      @@leeyang4798 oh. Nice to know that you're not in China. Yes. The virus is severe. Oh. It's getting better? That's great for China as well bcz it will improve the stock market and GDP of the country and business in Asian Markets. Wish even speedy recovery.
      I haven't heard of Taobao, sorry for that. But I'm sure their agent needs more knowledge about a product which is from a legendary company like Phillips. It may be their marketing strategy to sell their products.
      Whatever it is. But the truth is that, Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlights don't have fan at bottom. That's the tagline.
      In Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlights they have power cord exactly like OEM Bulb and this will fit with the male connector present inside Dustcap. So, you neither need to to cut the dustcap (which is the case of Phillips Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED Headlights) not need to cut the connecting wiring. It's direct fit without any alterations. So, u must use the base in order to use the LED headlight and I can confidently say that, after putting the LED in the headlight compartment and securing it with the clip pin, u must attach the base and connect it to the H7 power male Adapter from the bike.
      In my video between 4:50 min and 5:37 min, I've just demonstrated to detach the base in order to securing the light unit with the clip pin, because with the base put on, you can't install the clip pin. The bigger base will create obstruction to the clip pin. So, detaching the base didn't mean to use the LED headlight without it, but it is to mean that you need to detach the base in order to secure fit the LED headlight inside the headlight compartment. So, it is very much required to make the LED headlight work properly. 😀
      This is what other UA-camrs also try to show. But u misunderstood the whole things dear.
      The Ultinon model doesn't need the side fairing to be removed in order to install it. The Xtreme Ultinon needs the fairing to be removed as it has two connectors, one for light and another one for fan, and it is bulky too, so, you've to take out connectors and attach it outside. That's it.
      In order to install Xtreme Ultinon, you need to do lots of work. But the Ultinon model is lot more easier to install. Hope you have got your answers dear.
      You are always welcome.
      Put further comments if you still need clarification on these Xtreme Ultinon & Ultinon models.

    • @ArkaRoy
      @ArkaRoy  4 роки тому +2

      Sure sure. Y not. I've used both the lights from Philips, but Ultinon consumes only 14 Watt, hence light output is good for city commuting, but highway visibility is an issue
      But in Xtreme Ultinon, the consumption is 25 watt, hence the light output is tremendous over the previous model. So, the city commuting visibility is more than enough & highway visibility is awesome too. Besides, the main advantage is, it doens't create glare to the traffic coming from opposite direction. So, if your pocket permits & need good highway cum touring visibility, then go for the Xtreme Ultinon H7 LED, but if you need the led headlight for city commuting, then you can prefer Phillips Ultinon H7 LED Headlights too.
