      Lake Walker and that abandoned RV park was a welcomed site after driving from Amargosa Valley. Nice spot, I stopped to overnight and stayed an extra day.

      Thanks for stopping by. It was a great place to boondock. I believe there was a better entrance a mile back or so off the highway that led right to the dunes. This road led to the dunes as well but I had to stop short when the washboard road got to be too much.

      @@janerockstar Hi janerockstar, thank you so much for your suggestion. The original intent was to just let the drive and the photos do the talking. However, with that said you make a valid point and I should add a personal touch. I’m not a very outgoing person but I promise, I am now working on adding some intro commentary.
      By the way, I pretend to play a little guitar. I included a recording of me in one of the videos. Not saying which one though.
      Thanks again, I appreciate ya.

    What highway are you on
    and what is the name of the road you turned on

      Hey there, thanks for the question.
      (Big Dune) I was on US-95 N heading north past the Area 51 Alien Center. There were a couple of signs that indicated Big Dune to the left, I believe I took the second left onto the washboard road of BLM land (14 day limit).
      (Walker Lake) I was still on US-95 N past Hawthorne, NV and the abandoned RV Park was on the right.
      Both were great places to boondock.
      I appreciate ya.

    What abandoned rv Park??

      @vagabond-senior  4 місяці тому

      Hey @mikesandro8578 thanks for stopping in checking out the video and leaving a comment. Well yes, I would consider it abandoned since all the crumbling asphalt show signs that it may have been maintained sometime in the distant past. It was a great stop and I enjoyed it very much there as I tried to relay in my video. Great hike, beautiful lake and an all around interesting place, Walker Lake and Hawthorne NV.
