That's a nice wish but by the end it had to happen. Too much ridiculous hate was pushed about on both sides. My father's side of the family lost family members and everything they owned pushed out of Patiala and ran to Pakistan. But these countries can drop the stupid politics, solve the Kashmir problem amicably, accept LOC as international border and start friendship and hopefully in time even easy Visa regimen to visit each other and establish trade.
There are 6 balti villages in ladhak , their descendant king lives in turtuk . They are very happy and hospitable people . Meuseum palace and whole turtuk village is so beautiful

I am a citizen of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) by birth. Both India and Pakistan should respect the right of the people of GB and Ladakh to determine their own future. They should be given three options: to join India, to join Pakistan, or to become independent. Furthermore, Kashmir, being a Muslim-majority region, aligns with the principles of the two-nation theory and, in principle, should have been part of Pakistan. However, considering the significant time that has passed since the partition, it is now imperative that the United Nations facilitate a process to ascertain the will of the people of these regions and ensure their voices are heard.
It's a good thing that Kashmir isn't part of Pakistan. The people there have access to far better opportunities and are doing much better than their counterparts. I visited a friend in June, and he shared how much things have improved-from colleges to hospitals, everything is better now. Tourism is also booming. Karl recently visited Gilgit and the surrounding villages, and the difference in development between the Indian and Pakistani sides is like night and day.

When did you write that version of history because these places have never been a part of India. They were historically a part of the Tibetan empire and share a lot of culture with them. Even the balti language is written in Tibetian script.
