Lots of good info here! With wines like Prosecco, the vintage itself is not as important as the actual age of the wine, so if you see two vintages on the shelf, buy the youngest one. This is true for a number of light wines, where DYA - drink youngest available - is the rule. Love your videos, Madeline! How about one on Sekt?
🍇🍷🍺Prosecco is hot now.. Growing in popularity of the last couple of years.. Beverage Industry Magazine had an article about this past month. Lots of good information about Prosecco... Nice Video. Wet Wool... ohno... LOL, Picking Wine Of The Shelf.. * For Next - How About a Wassail or Mulled Wine ... Have A Delmarvelous Week! 🍇🍷Cheers 🍻🍷🍷
Seconding the request for Sekt! Also other sparkling wines from southern hemisphere regions might be cool. As well as a video about Albariño from Galicia... Thanks a lot for doing these videos, they're a great resource and a fun watch.
Thanks for the video, Madeline! I'm currently having my first glass of Grüner Veltliner and I'd be interested in your opinion about it. A video perhaps?
I bought some Presecco a few months ago, expecting a sweet and bubbly experience much like sparkling apple cider. I was very disappointed as it wasn't sweet at all. I'm guessing sparkling doesn't necessarily mean "sugary." Maybe that's something you could explain in a short video, Madd, and call it "The Sweet Experience" or something. Whether you do or don't, keep the info coming!
When the grapes are turned into wine that grape sugar gets converted into alcohol. It's a trade off. An acquired taste, but I'm sure you can get into it!
One more tip: in sparkling wines i realize that the shape of the cork shows me about proper care and storage. I dont buy "special offers" for sparkling wines anymore.
link me your example! I don't know of it coming from anywhere from Asolo Prosecco based on regulation. But then again, I might have old info. Happy to look and see what you have :)
@@Winefolly I'm working with Follador sparklings, so it's first example that came to my mind ;) shop.folladorprosecco.com/product/18145153/valdobbiadene-prosecco-superiore-d.o.c.g.-brut-nature-dosaggio-zero?_=_
huh. Sounds highly suspicious! In my experience, a lot of bulk brands are a bit secretive with their info. Still, it's possible that it was just a rare import and the website might be in full Italian. huh. Looked it up. Looks like a bulk Safeway brand. Still, here's what useful to note about it: it's an Extra Dry, so it's going to be a touch fruity. It's a Prosecco DOC, so quality wise, it's basic. Still, it's priced about right around $10 / bottle. I would drink it and enjoy!
Your energy and passion for wine is just contagious. Thank you for what you've been doing. 🥂
I did not know prosecco should be as young as possible. That is good info.

Love the tip to grab from the back of the pack. I always pick from the back of the pack for no reason at all on just about everything we buy
My wife and I are enjoying your videos. Great information presented with passion. Thank you!
Thank you, you two!
Love this, such good stuff!
Thanks for the video love watching
This is so useful! You'd be so useful to have on our Fizz Friday episodes!
Tulip glasses are great for Riesling & Gewurztraminer also, really any aromatic white.

I love a lot of Italian wines. Never had much luck with Prosecco. It's the Coors Light of sparkling wines. If you want bubbles, go for the good stuff.
evan powell it’s funny, they claim the “champagne of beer” maybe this is the “beer of bubbles?”
@@Winefolly Sounds just right. Luv your vids Madeline!!! Keep it up...you're the best.... :)
Dang! You’re right…always reach for the back … I’ve forgotten to do that the past FOUR BOTTLES 😭😭😭
How about a video on Beaujolais and Gamay?

Good rec!
Prosecco is probably my favorite wine word to say.
Mine is Agiorgitiko! "ah-your-yeek-tee-koh!" ahahahahahah! I'm laughing!
Sounds "Greek" to me. 👍

WD 40 whoa. I guess we’re not that far apart afterall
Maybe I heard something wrong (from 2:05), but actually they're making prosecco extra brut in Valdobbiadene.

Mazarini Prosecco. I can't find any info on it. It's driving me crazy. How do you figure out more about a wine with a vague to you label!??!
