I'm autistic and often need background music to concentrate while reading or working. I have a specific condition related to patterns that my brain "ears" when there's no sound or when the sound is the same for extended periods of time (for instance, I can't concentrate to those White or Brown Noise 10 hour videos because after 5 minutes I start "to ear" little sounds like melodies on a piano or drum sounds in the distance and I start getting irritated). I come back to this specific album a lot because it has a relaxing sound to me. It's low-pitched, it has tempo changes and killer riffs which keep me engaged on what I'm reading while noticing the music on a more sub-conscious level. I can add Celeste's Nihiliste(s) and Aphex Twin's SYRO LP to the list as well, but this one is special.
I love how at the same time this manages to be both atmospheric and focuses heavily on ambience but also contains damn good riffs you can headbang to as well. Amazing band.
@@stalkinglikecandy I think he meant the space itself, the vast, dark, cold and mostly empty stuff with radiation, subliminal velocity particles and violent gravity fields. Our planet is an exception.
I listen to this band primarily when I’m in bed with the lights off right before falling asleep. No other setting is more appropriate. The atmosphere of aimlessly drifting in space that this music sets is perfect for bedtime.
@@BrecMadak I think he may be referring to various sci fi movie noises. But I hear that there is no sound in a vacuum. But I wouldn't know for sure. But I do know that after hearing this there should be.
It is a scientific fact that there is no sound in space, or at least almost no sound (some gas clouds can produce a sound theoretecally). All you hear in the internet labeled "sound of space" is just a distorted field recorded ambient plus some noises taken from NASA diagnostic tools. Anyway, I like this type of "space" music genre. It's definitely atmospheric.
This music is a mixture between "Hellraiser" and "Event Horizon" with a bit of "Alien" in it....awesome....At the live gigs they look like Cenobites....

Every time I see people asking what is inside black holes, i'm going to send this album.
If outer space had a sound, that would probably be it. Awesome.
We are in outer space and this is the sound we're making right? But we also make country music, unfortunately.
I mean Pythagoras's music of the spheres. I think it is Black Metal. If it is country, I want to go to a different universe!
@@stp52x Yeah, it's like Rick says, literally everything is in space.

That opening scream is probably the best I've heard in black metal, Bone chilling...
An absolute masterpiece to me, I'm not the greatest BM expert but nevear heard something as majestic as this
this is pure darkness
Now I understand why the universe is expanding itself... it must be fleeing from this music!!! AMAZING!!!
That’s It indeed !

It's ackshually because of the 2nd law of the thermodynamics and how it is moving towards disorder

Nah, actually the ignorance and fear of unknown are terrifying.
Spacefaring tip: Black holes will usually leave you alone if you leave them alone.

The wild thing is that it does actually sound like space.

I love this album from the beginning to the end, but in that moment 57:22 I have literally always indescribable emotion when I listen to it.
Great music for reading Warhammer 40k books
Even when playing Doom

This album is like Quake 2 + LOTR.

Jammed out to this while I was doing my Dead Space Remake New Game+ runs. Perfect album for the game.
Supplement this album with Peter Watt’s book Blindsight and you’re in for a unique cosmic sociological experience
