- I take my first ride and give my thoughts on the 2018 KTM 250XC-W TPI demo bike. The bike runs incredibly clean and crisp and the bottom end power is really good. 2018 TE 250i. Love this bike. Low end grunt and top end ripper. No oil leak at reservoir cap as well.

I was wondering when you was going to get riding on that bike. Lol. Great way to start of this review with those great trails. That start did start pretty decent. I could of swore that the tpi on the dirt bike channel had just a hare longer of a start.

Sorry to double comment but as far as the oil cap goes, I believe it actually is a vent as well. You may notice it wiggles a bit when it's tighten on. and probably explains when you over fill it that it can seep out of there. Also I love the 1st gear on that bike, pulls like a tractor and will not stall as long as you have throttle
Hey no problem, good point about the oil cap. Honestly I don't mind the low first gear but I struggle with the gap between 2nd and 3rd, can't quite find the right spot when our tight single track opens up a but.

Hello there, on question from a tpi owner. Doesnt the idle bother you when you shut the throttle, just pushing you forward. You can notice it more on big straight aways, you cut gas... And the bike is like burping forward if know what I mean.I don't know if it's a two stroke thing, because I come from a 4 Stroke. Tell what you think. Hope I was clear.
It's not something I've really noticed.
It’s something that most all fuel injected motors do. Have a 700 Raptor that does the same, you can cruise around without any throttle.

Yeah no doubt Hero5 audio is poor quality....but sounds good in this vid! I hate the audio on my Hero5!

How did the gap between 2nd and 3rd gear work out?
Honestly it's my only real complaint with the bike. In single track I seem to be looking for a comfortable gear where on my XC I would be in 2nd on the XCW I'm switching between 2nd and 3rd a lot.
How much do you weigh? I’m thinking about getting one and I’m 175 lbs and 6 foot tall. Just wondering what stock settings would do for me
Lightweight 145 lbs. I a lot of guys find the Xplor forks too soft so you may want to put stiffer springs in and/or have it re-valved.
PNW Enduro Just bought a 2015 300 XC with TF racing suspension reworked front and rear but the previous owner must have been heavier because the suspension seems a bit stiff for me.

What was the yellow light on at 1:00 ?
Yellow light would either be for low fuel or electrical fault. It must have calibrated itself as the light was off shortly after.
How does the smooth power compare to a lectron equipped bike? More smooth or same?
I would say a littler smoother. It's been described as more "electric", not sure if that's the right word for it but I would call it cleaner. I'll be riding it back to back with my Lectron equipped 250XC in the next video.
Can you just buy this bike, so when I'm not riding mine I can watch you ride your bike lol
lol I don't think this ones for sale. I did suggest to KTM they let me keep it for the summer but unfortunately I have to give it back to them soon.
