WRW in his prime would destroy any 2-Handed bowler in the world. The ability he had to repeat shot after shot was absolutely incredible. He would demoralize every bowler he faced head to head.
Even though handedness really doesn't matter, I will agree with you that he could out-target almost everyone on tour. He is probably one of the best shotmakers this sport has ever seen.
@@NateCraven318 I like how Walter Ray Williams always played right. He didn’t seem that the lane conditions matter too much for him. He just didn’t put a lot of hook in the ball and just aimed for the pocket with tremendous accuracy.
The single man who constantly inspired me as a young bowler at age 12. I fell in love with the game and then found a huge inspiration in Walter Ray. It feels incredible to see him once again. Thank you very much for the upload.
I don’t think you can call this performance choking. They both bowled well, walters pin carry was just superior that particular day from that outside angle.
maybe columbia makes their ball slightly smaller therefore with all the ringing 10pins.. i had an action max from columbia which also gives me the same problem
@DrEaMxBoI You know what? I think you're right! I have a Scout Reactive It and looks pretty small compared to house balls. I play at the same lanes PBA Hall of Famer Dave Husted now owns: Milwaukie Bowl
Chris Barnes finished second in both toc and master this season... Until now, he has 8 second place major finish. However, he is a great bowler in my mind. Sosad
It sounds like you're dumb because Chris was bowling with the same speed Walter was, but he had a lot more revs. The higher rev rate and same speed always equals more power, even if it doesn't carry. Know that when Randy talks about power, he talks about revs.
I’ve known Walter since 1985 and I talked to her in 2008 in Taylor, MI. She said that the weight was causing back issues, so a doctor helped her lose the weight.
Those in league play have it so nice and easy. Now take away that house oil and put in pba oil, and remove all resin reactive balls out of circulation, you people will not be able to BOWL SHIT. You won't get high games, you won't be getting your 300 games, but you will be bowling around 150 or less. The change of the lanes from wood to synthetic somewhat is better for the owner, but wood lanes is the best overall. If you can master wood lanes under pba oil rules then synthetic will come along as well. I prefer the part syn and part wood lanes. The combo is unique on its own. Bowling with a hook or a straight with a slight hook does not matter. What matters is accuracy on every shot, and being able to know instantly that the lanes will change by the 4'th or 5th shot, which means you have to make the adjustment. I would say williams and duke are the two best when it comes to accuracy time and time again. Anyway this is my opinion for I am a retired regional pro. I used to buy very good bowling balls for around a hundred bucks, now they are going around near 1 grand for a ball, and they try to sell you all kinds of B.S. needing an arsenal of many balls to play the game. To me it sucks. The best ball that was ever out in the market but got banned was the Columbia yellow dot having a hardness of 58!!!! That ball will match any reactive resin ball any day. Since most lanes now are synthetic, why not bring back the Columbia yellow dot 58 hardness. You don't need all that other bullshit.
I agree with the lanes bit, and a great example is the USBC Masters before and after 2015, in my home town of Green Bay at Ashwaubenon Lanes. Before and after pros and amateurs alike made the USBC Masters pattern and lanes look SUPER easy. Ashwaubenon turned on the difficulty, and the final score was Belmonte 202 to AJ Johnson's 157! LOW scores! For pros to be challenged like that in that environment, which btw was an oldschool bowling alley that is played at frequently by locals, says how hard the sport actually is! I honestly wish both the PBA and USBC go to alleys like ours more often to challenge the bowlers as hard as possible. If I had time to get back into bowling myself, the only equipment I need is thumb tape (cuz my thumb blisters) and a bowling ball more comfortable because I have a 16lb. Urethane ball that just kills my wrist and thumb. The next ball I get is going to be lighter and honestly, I'd probably still go Urethane for the simplicity but just a lighter weight with better drilled holes. It's the simple things that can make games better! now if I can just break 200 :P as my high is only 171!
just an fyi, i'm looking at bowling.com their highest priced ball is under $200 (even if full priced it would be under $300), maybe $1k if you got 5 balls but not just for 1. In fact in terms of equipment, it's not that expensive if you know where to get it. Sporting goods stores will have any needs covered from shoes if you don't like the alley shoes, thumb tape, wrist bands, to yes bowling balls. it's a lot cheaper than golf that's for sure!

He actually started using a 2 handed delivery on the PBA50 Tour so he could use a different line than the rest of the bowlers there.

Walter Ray, is the Greatest Bowler and Horseshoe Pitcher ever to Live.
They did call him "DeadEye" for a reason
Dead Eye was from his early horseshoe days

It's nice to see bowlers using one hand
Walter Ray for President.
Bummer outcome. Love Barnes and he is a really nice guy as well as an excellent bowler.
Barnes looks like he is about to cry :'(
"Shades of Sarah Palin"
"I thought that was Sarah Palin"
What great commentary. Geez.
WRWJr playing the Butch Soper line...perfection.
Walter Ray Williams Jr Win! 👏
I really wish I knew what WRW finished with lol. I hope to bowl as good as he does one day.
290-217

What the hell? Why did the video stop before the end of the match?
Chris Barnes is bowling's biggest choke artist
Wrong.
I don’t think you can call this performance choking. They both bowled well, walters pin carry was just superior that particular day from that outside angle.
WHY DID YOU STOP THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
W.R.W.Jr. is simply the Best. He's A Strike Machine.
@nso1256 i think so too... however there are some lanes where columbia reigns over the storm!!
Barnes shot a good game he just didnt get the breaks to go his way
3:11 HE’S A BAD MAMMAL !!🦬
god damn WRW is so badass!
WRWJ will always be my favorite =)
THE MESSENGER TAKES ITS VITAMINS!
doesnt this remind u of red white and blue open match with garber and scroggins?
Where's the end of the tenth?
what ball is walter using?
900 Global Break Out
maybe columbia makes their ball slightly smaller therefore with all the ringing 10pins..
i had an action max from columbia which also gives me the same problem
I went frame by frame on these hits and Chris's shots deflected a lot. Walter's drove through.

They should reduce messengers because those are just weak 10s. The kickback boards need to be adjusted.
It’s not the kickbacks, it the power that can be generated with reactive resin balls.
Love WRWJ!
How do they not show him strike out bulllllll
Im surprised Chris was able to sit down without wincing after that....!
so, according to rob, walter has never finished worse than 2nd, until the 2013 chameleon? that can't be right.
Chris Barnes finished second in both toc and master this season...
Until now, he has 8 second place major finish.

Feel bad for Barnes, he just couldn't hit the left lane
Wrw gave Barnes the sour face with all those grenades he was throwing! Ouch
xdojox
He is using a break out or freak out, something around that name
@Fukkensaved Not gonna beat that WR game anyway.
Walter Ray was hot that day!
pederson said barnes bowl with more power cuz he stands more left but thats dumb. i bowl all the way left and only about 14mph
It sounds like you're dumb because Chris was bowling with the same speed Walter was, but he had a lot more revs. The higher rev rate and same speed always equals more power, even if it doesn't carry. Know that when Randy talks about power, he talks about revs.
Are you sure?!
is that lady gonna start singin here soon LOL:)
@ridna660r Why saying this without backing with some facts? Are you hurting someone's integredy just for some attention?
Questions end in ?, not !
0:34 *creeper voice* beehaaave
I bowl with super stars I do good but not great like tall
Barnes loses....greta result!
*great* Sorry
@03rkimble I believe he shots 290
WRW wife lost like 80 lbs since 2003, i thought he got a new wife....
He eventually did...
@@pamelacass9642 oh well, it happens, good to know
