112 hp. Built in Manchester in the same factory as the wheeled diggers. Produced for a short time, '80 -'81 ? The 1200's had reliability issues which were sorted by the time they built the 1250, unfortunately by this time they had such a bad name that no one would touch them. Everyone said they were under powered which I never agreed with, I ran 3 of them on dump trailers in the '90's when I remember demo'ing an MF 3080, the 1200's pulled loads better than the 3080, everyone seemed to be misguided by its physical size and forgot that the original 1200 was only just over 100hp, thinking it was much bigger..
my uncle drove the 1250 with a 6 furrow reversible dowdswell with a press at kettle farm in fife during the 80's when i was the yts'er, and it also used to go with a big fergie chisel plough too, i always wanted to drive it and when i finally got a shot moving it out the tractor shed i sent my bosses big 40 gallon nilfisk hoover flying down the shed with a big dent in it with the tail of the chisel plough after i twitched the arse end too much going out the door, i got my arse kicked for that one lol
Definitely getting plenty of excercise as a driver - maybe should have had a hydraulic Top Link!Pity it wasn't a proper sized yoke for the tractor - I was hoping to see it getting tied in knots on the side-brae - noticed how much the rear end twitched even with the weight of the plough. Hope it is still on the go and looking as good!
as an mf titter in the 70s i remember the 1200 a bit troublesome it had dry brakes dodge lorry clutch 35x gearbox bit of a bitser with a combine engine
I voted no for independence Happy about the result.Although the headline in the newspaper today is worrying - "Independence can happen without referendum" Seems like Alex Salmond is attempting to overthrow the will of the Scottish people just days after independence was rejected !

The MF 1250 was made in Manchester, same as 1200 tractors. It was about 112 hp and was manufactured between 1978 - 1982.
what a beautiful tractor, they really look good
I remember seeing one of these on a sugar cane farm in the 1980s ,really cool.

Four furrows is a piece of cake for that tractor to be sure. Nice setup.
Great video!

Can it plough at 8kmh? I know Masseys can plough the best at that speed😁
Sorry don't know I am just the camera guy
A rare bird. I think they only made about 300 of these tractors.
👌
i see no independence for Scotland.. what are your thoughts on that?
I see governments as thieves and they will not willingly let their slaves go. The former great Britain is no different.

wow that does not surprise me one bit.. will of the people is like a thorn in there agenda....
Why isn't this one pulling at least a 6?
P
I believe they are 112 hp made in and around 1979 maybe banner lane or the Manchester massey plant but couldn't be positive about either,
Thanks
My dad put a harvester engine inside on of this

Why so slow.....I pull same plow with a 4020 at 7 miles hour 5th gear PS
2 reasons.
1.I'ts a competition so less likely to make a mistake if going slow
2.Safety - A lot of people around including children
Sounds like your from a country where they plow at high speeds.
Difference is he's making a good job.....lol
