Hi Kristi! First, I'm happy to see that you're back and I want to take this moment to wish you a great and Happy New Year and I wish you continued success with your channel as well. Keep your positive vibes going, and continue sharing your passion for detailing with the community. You go girl! I think you fully understood that with any product, there are compromises to be made when you get something that's versatile. Good on you for touching on that topic in the video. So in the case of the ceramic spray sealant, the way to get maximum durability is with an application on clean, decontaminated, well prepped and dry paintwork. When used on a wet surface, you're diluting the product and so you are sacrificing long term durability, for practicality and convenience and speed of use. A dry application takes more prep and time to apply, but yields longer durability. The good thing of the wet application is that it's so quick and easy to do, you can top off the protection when needed, in just a few minutes going around the car. No special prep needed, other than washing the car hehe. So in the case of most spray on rinse off sealants, or drying aids, you can typically expect 1-3 months durability at best, which is what you are experiencing here. So that's in line with what we'd expect. Should you want greater durability, you'd do a full wash, iron remover, machine polish to remove any previous protection, panel prep spray and then do a dry application. But then again, we know that there are many factors that can influence long term durability of any paint protection, regardless if it's a wax, sealant, spray sealant or ceramic coating. Temperature, conditions, prep, application, maintenance, mileage, weekend driven car vs daily driven, and the list goes on and on. And yeah the Labocosmetica system works so good! I would highly encourage you to watch my latest "Winter wash" tutorial where I demonstrated a deeper dive into Primus 2.0 and Purifica, with tips from Reggy Cox himself, the product specialist from Labocosmetica. You'll see how you could have achieved an even greater level of decontamination. Works great on ceramic coated vehicles by the way. Cheers!
Thanks for the awesome comment!! I always appreciate the time you take to respond to videos with such great knowledge and care! Thank you for the well wishes 😊😊 Happy New Year to you as well Pan!!! #positivevibesonly in 2025!!
Ayyy Kristi! Sorry about your eardrum, hope it's fully recovered! Thanks for the update video, I appreciate the all the context provided! I've also found the application method really changes the whole experience with this sealant. Wipe on dry will definitely be best but just gotta watch out for oversprays.
Welcome back, Kristi! Already Subbed but definitely liked. I ruptured my left ear drum about a month ago pretty hard core at work. Bleeding from the ear out of nowhere. Took a bit to heal up but much better now. I've used Labo, Detail co, Stars and stripes plus a few other multi-level decon washes. Labo is pretty awesome. I've applied Pans ceramic spray on a large multitude of vehicles now.. I've almost gone through 2 bottles and a gallon. Most of how i apply it is neat style with a damp microfiber or an applicator, then buff it by hand. So far, I've seen it last more than 3 to 4 months on a bunch of vehicles. It's one of my favorite spray sealants. I use it as a sacrificial layer for my Clean 8 year coating on my truck. To better protect from magchloride in the winter. Great video, and i love the pink, too. 😂 I'm glad you're back!
Great video Kristi!! Glad to see your on the mend & getting better. You definitely didn't give up. And although the coating looked gone, the rapid sheeting proved otherwise. 👍🏻 🇨🇦
Happy new year, welcome back and sad to hear about the ear. I ruptured my eardrum and broke my nose in the same amateur fight when I was 16 or 17 … no, I didn’t win. The nose & bruises healed in about a week. The ear took several weeks and came with dizziness and nausea, oh the joy that was. Labocosmetica and Clean both seem legit. I plan on ordering some of their products soon. 😊😊😊
@@DetailsNMe I appreciate that, haha! Over 30 years ago. But yeah, I can relate to the ear thingy. Makes your equilibrium all whackadoo and stuffs. Plus, the ache is terrible … like it never lets up, even when you try to sleep. I feel you on NOT wanting to do anything, let alone UA-cam videos. Just glad you’re back in good shape. 😊😊😊
Great you are back and there are many different ways your eardrum can get busted. The most important thing is that you are well and it didn't get more complicated with an infection.
@DetailsNMe by the way, Feliz día de Reyes. I don't know if you celebrate it at your home as part of our Hispanic family traditions even though you are in the states, but my 3 sons who live in Kentucky and my brothers and cousins with their families living in the different states do.😜
I've been thinking about this since watching your interview with Phil Maranda and something he said made me wonder. Is it possible that your daughter has been going through automatic car washes? Would that explain the fast breakdown of the product? Brushes up the side and aggressive chemicals might have caused it to fail. Just a thought.
@@DetailsNMe Oh boy! Yeah that's a huuuuuge factor. They use super harsh chemicals in automated car washes, and repeated use will weaken any spray sealant over time, regarldess of how good it is, and would even weaken ceramic coatings over prolonged uses.
Excellent point! These are always variables that need to be explained when reviewing products, as they do alter the outcome. Regardless of how good a spray product is.
Hi kristi, really nice to see you again! Most of all,HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family,we wish you the best for 2025, really nice video, this is a concrete demonstration of the efficiency of all the products you tried.👍💪💪
Had to watch the original video again to see what the first application looked like. Have to say both applications took a hard hit over what they originally did, but considered they were diluted heavily with water both times, still performed well. I think as you used it, it would need to be applied once or twice a month for best performance.
Yes Kristi knows the dry application is what provides the longest durability. Wet application, regardless of which ceramic spray sealant we talk about, only yields 1-3 months durability typically, like any spray on rinse off sealant really. It's always a trade-off between ease/speed of use, and durability. Dry application = longer durability. Wet application = speed of application, no real prep needed. But Kristi also found out that her daughter went through automatic car washes many times, and that is a major factor we didn't know in this video. Those use super harsh chemicals that will inevitably weaken any spray sealant, perhaps even ceramic coatings over repeated use... There are always variables to consider when doing these tests.
I've had spray ceramics last almost a year. I've had the same spray last a month. It's highly dependent on the driving and storage conditions during that time.
Painful, I’ve heard of people doing it from shoving that Qtip in too deep 😡😡. Glad you’re better. Killer Beanie cap👌. That color looks good on you. Sheesh wish I had hair🤔
One suggestion to Chem-X is to have a label on those foam cannons since some of us who are colorblind can't see the red/green while others can't see blues/yellows others are full colorblind and all colors are seen like grey tones, so a label for acidic and alkaline products would be helpful unless they both can manage all type of chemicals.
You need to go over it again with your wash mitt after you rinse the water spot remover off. The WSP will act like it’s still has protection till you do
Labocosmetica Energo is better in the sense that it's cheaper and it's dilutable. If you can get a concentrate for the same price as or close to the price of a ready to use product, then go for the concentrate.
@ I have to look into that product. A dilutable concentrate would be better cost wise. I know Yvan has hinted that their WSR will be available in gallon size so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a concentrate due to costs.
Hi Kristi I'm sure you used the 2 bucket method with grit guards i just didn't see you using them BUT for completely eliminating any chance of scratching or marking the paint work you should be using The 1 bucket method and using separate microfiber mitts for each panel
I definitely had a bucket with a grit guard -I will do better to show that next time. I had used both Primus and Purifica before the contact wash so I really felt like the panels were already clean before I went into the contact wash..so I wasn’t too worried about any marring at that point but you are absolutely right! I appreciate the suggestion and insight! Thank you for watching!!
Foaming and rinsing as the prewash step removes all the actual grit, and unless you are allowing the wash media to fall to the bottom of the bucket, there is really no need for a grit guard. When you are doing your contact wash, all that is remaining after the initial prewash should be film. The 2 bucket method is absolutely not needed in this day and age.
Unfortunately the Diy water spot remover is not a fair product due to the fact that this product seems to leaves "something" on the paint. There is already a discussion going on about this.......🤔
If you look at the SDS sheet which DIY makes readily available on their website …it shows that the only two ingredients in their WSR is lactic acid and deionized water-I really believe the product is just really good at unmasking mineralized contamination-therefore really unclogging the paint which allows for the protection to shine through…but I do understand the controversy behind it! Thank you so much for watching and for giving your input! I appreciate all insight!!
In the environment this daily driver is in..WSR will be needed no matter what sealant I put on it…this car drives through so much gravel and dirt ..mineral build up is inevitable..thank you for watching!!
Welcome back!
Thank you 🙏🙏
Good to have you back.. Hope you are all healed up.
